We will not be returning. We expressed our concerns several times. Today his shirt and pants were soaking wet when I picked him up. The shirt had food all over it. When I walked in he was on the floor crying in a 2 year old class. He is 12 months old as of this month. We expressed our desire for our son not to be moved from class to class as he is not a floater. Whoever his teacher was today said he didnt have a change of clothes. He did, in his backpack. Several other times when he was back in the Infant A room the teacher did not know who my child was at pick up. This was after we asked him not to be changed back to the previous class since he was struggling with the transition to the 1 year old class. We wanted him to stay in his 1 year old class. We asked for stability and consistency. My mom came to pick my son up last week and walked right into his classroom. Noone checked her ID. They said they remembered her face. This was her second time ever picking our son up. Since the Director quit and my sons two teachers quit it has been a complete mess. We knew they were understaffed and going through changes. We were up to hang in there and believed the best. However, our son has definitely been neglected during this time. Lastly, all the daily reports are not consistent and missing valuable information such as Diapering. Since the first day we dropped off at your school, not a tear was shed. Now almost everyday, hes screaming at pick up. We will not be returning.

My daughter is 21 months, has been going to Ivy Kids for 6 months and we love it. Her teachers are great! Ms Sarah always has a smile on her face when we walk in, Ms Nancy is always so sweet and Ms Georgette is always so kind and welcoming in the mornings.Ms Ashley is very good at what she does and Ms Tiffany is just the sweetest; My daughter loves her.The Director Ms Jackie is very hardworking and friendly. I see her take out time to speak to almost every child as they head out. My daughter runs to her to say goodbye so I can tell shes very involved with the kids. The school has an amazing curriculum. My daughter is learning so much at IVY KIDS. Keep up the good work!!!

This is honestly one of the best places I could imagine having my child in! I dont write reviews often, but Im taking the time to do this day because this place is amazing! The staff/ teachers really care about all of the kids and the parents too. The staff is super interactive with the kids and does a great job keeping the parents up to date. The facility is kept up very well and is very clean! The cameras are a great touch and are positioned well to see the classroom. The staff also adds great personal touches by taking individual pictures of your children and sending them to you every now and then with a personal message about your childs learning, mood, and behaviors for the day. The overall vibe is very positive and caring and leaves parents feeling very secure with leaving their children there through the day!! This is a great place for anyone to take their kids !!

My daughter has gone here for about a year and a half. She has had some amazing teachers. I trust leaving her in capable hands every day and she enjoys going. My one complaint would be that the director position has switched several times. I would love to see a consistent management team.

I signed up in April for October 1st start for my infant. Apparently they failed to put my baby in the system and when I called today (August 24) just to check details and any other paperwork needed, etc. they took awhile to locate the file and told me that earliest they can start him will be November 9. What if I showed up on October 1 like I planned? Were they going to tell me then? Then they offered to look for other location that can accommodate him until November. Then they retracted that offer later during the call saying the director who I guess was listening to the phone conversation said that they don’t do that anymore. I would give zero star if I could. Definitely not somewhere I’d trust my infant with. Incompetence all around.

I have 2 children enrolled at Ivy Kids, one is school-aged and the other is in the Toddler Room. My review is specifically on the toddler-aged child. My son knows all of his colors and is counting to 20 at only 2.5 years old. He is sounding out letters he sees and will see a letter and recognize which letter of the alphabet it is. I am impressed by his quick learning abilities and that to me is remarkable in a day care.

PARENTS PLEASE READ, I WAS A WORKER THERE!!!I was a worker there, but SADLY I left. I was physically assaulted by another teacher (I didnt do anything but tell the assistant director and the director) but nothing was done. They claimed they couldnt see anything on the video which was a lie because I saw the video. She wanted to move my classroom and do nothing to the other teacher...and this wasnt the first complaint she had on this teacher. Her excuse is she is a veteran, I dont care if she has been there for 5, 10 or 15 years, that doesnt justify her putting her hands on me!!! She turns a blind eye to issues so she doesnt have to deal with them. Keep that in mind when you look at this daycare!!! If she doesnt stand up for her workers what makes you think she will pay attention to your child!?!?

My Daughter goes in the Morning and After school care. Her teachers are very kind and helpful. She used to go to the pre-k class which is Mrs. Riffat and Ms. Esmeralda s class. They are very lovely and so sweet to all of their kids. They taught them a lot. I recommend to anyone who lives close this place. It seems like they try to open when public school closes for holidays.

(Backstory) Prior to my son going to Ivy Kids he was at another daycare in the area. He started daycare at 20 months, and we knew it was going to be an adjustment for all of us. He was only there for a month, and within that time we had to get him stitches on his eyebrow after he was pushed into an uncovered book shelf. An outfit of his were lost, they stated he was biting but i also found several bite marks on him. Majority of the teachers were young, and did the bare minimum to teach the kids. It was terrible experience and I was honestly ready to quit my job and just stay at home with him longer. After leaving that daycare I knew he loved playing with other kids and really wanted to learn. We started the journey again and came across Ivy Kids(Lakemont). When we arrived we toured with the Education Director and had a lot of questions answered. We felt comfortable knowing that a lot of the staff had longevity there. So we felt they must be treated well since many daycares in the area have high turnover rates. We liked that they had a curriculum, and that he would get a lunch made by a certified person and not just warmed up by a staff member. My son has been at Ivy Kids for 1 MONTH. In that time he has said 10 or more words, he knows the movements to many nursery rhymes, he also counts to 3 at the moment. I can not begin to explain what it feels like as a parent to see your child thrive, and also knowing that people care enough to teach these children. When you walk through Ivy Kids there is organization throughout the center. Each classroom you look in no matter what age, all of the children are learning in new and fun ways. All of the staff members are wonderful. Sarah in the front, will greet you with a smile every morning. The Director Sirisha is very active with her staff and students. She is so nice and present to make sure that day by day classes are running as they should. Mrs.Erika is my sons teacher and you can tell that her experience is perfect for this age group as they learn and grow. I would definitely recommend Ivy Kids Lakemont.

My son has been going to Ivy Kids in Richmond for a little over 2 years now - we absolutely love it. There are always fun, interesting activities he looks forward to like crazy hair day and in the summer the little splash area out back. Hes learning a lot too - imagine my surprise when he came home one day reading quite a bit more than the few words weve been working on. At the beginning there was a very small staff turnover problem but that seems to be fixed now and we love all the staff - from the front desk - they help me so much every time I forget something (thanks Kortni and Anna!) to his actual class teachers - Ms Esmeralda and Mrs Riffat, who put a LOT of time into grading toddlers homework and getting them ready for kindergarten. Thank you so much everyone!!

My daughter has been attending Ivy Kids in Richmond since she was two years old. Every school year she had had the most wonderful, fun, and loving teachers. I have never been worried about leaving her at this school. She has had great opportunities in learning and in creating strong relationships with not only the staff but other students as well. I have loved all of her amazing teachers, Mrs. Jackie, Mrs. B, Mrs. Nancy and Jalisha, and her current teachers Mrs. Tanzila and Sherima. I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends. We are moving out of state and we will greatly miss this school and the awesome teachers and staff.

I called to gain information about enrolling my three yr old daughter.. Courtney answered and and sounded flustered. I let her know that I was calling to get information about enrolling my 3 yo into one of their programs and her response was uh-huh....... After an awkward silence I had to drag a bit more info out of her until she asked when my daughter was turning 4 yo. She continued to speak but by that time I was completely uncomfortable with even the idea of my child being around someone of that nature so I told her thank you but never mind. If the receptionist cant even present the school well over the phone I cant imagine wanting to enroll my child and leave her there in that care.

We had recently moved to the area and had visited several school options. At the 1st sight of Ivy Kids, I thought that was what we were looking for - the location, warm reception and facilities set up for the students.I was looking for an environment my kid could thrive.........but found I was very wrong. Barely few weeks we joined, my kid complained of - a class mate who would spit in her face at will- class mates who told her they hated her with several otherI approached her teachers with these complaints who made specific comments that led to my realization that the environment wasnt 1 to foster good relationship amongst the kids. I pulled my daughter out when it was obvious her attending Ivy Kids was having a negative effect on her persona.Re: Thank you for your response. Yes, we disenrolled in September of 2015 (perhaps I should have indicated that.....my apologies). I am very new at reviews particularly because my present phase is 1 where I am highly dependent on other parents reviews to make certain critical decisions about my kids.

Both my kids went through pre school at ivy kids Richmond. One is in 2nd grade now and the other in kindergarten. But, we still do the before and after school care at ivy kids. So, I am talking about 5yrs with ivy kids Richmond. I will start with the positives; By the time both my kids were ready for kindergarten they could read very well. The curriculum is excellent. Most of my daughters teachers are no longer in the school, but my sons last teacher in preschool was Ms. Tanzilla, and she is such a wonderful lady. So, in terms of academics, I would give ivy kids even a 4 or 5 star. But here is why I am giving it a 3;1) All through out preschool, we had to pay tuition even when the kids were on holidays ( Christmas, summer etc). Which was tolerable as this was preschool. But what I cannot understand is why school age children still have to pay tuition when they go on 2 weeks Christmas break in order to hold their spots. It is outrageous. I spoke with the director about this and the explanation just didnt make sense. She talked about kids who will be attending the winter camps, and since we will.not be attending, we have to pay so they can hold our spot. Ivy kids is the only preschool i know of that does this. And its just not fair. Why would you want us to pay for a service you are not going to render? Are we being punished for not attending winter camp? Why do we have to be measured against those registered for winter camp? The kids are on holiday, and parents need a pocket book break. We pay you even when the school is closed( thanksgiving day, the day after, and all the holidays you observe), so why cant you hold our spots for 2 wks? Is this just a one sided benefit skewed towards ivy kids only?2) ivy kids tends to observe a lot of holidays. Working parents put their kids in day care so they can work. Ivy kids observes almost every holiday imaginable including presidents day etc. A lot of organizations do not observe those days. So, working parents have to take the day off, or unpaid leave or get a sitter when ivy kids is on holiday. So, you ask yourself, why do I have a daycare? Not to mention you still have to pay for a full week even if ivy kids is open for only 3 days that week. They claim is for training their teachers. So, parents have to bear the cost of training the teachers? I pay for a full week when you are only open 3 or 4 days, and then pay a sitter because you are closed. Is that fair?3)The handlers for the before and after school care need to pay attention to the kids homework. I had to tell my daughter to tell them to no longer help with her homework because it was always wrong. Thank God I check. Not sure if its that they dont help, or they dont know elementary school math.4) you only get one week of free tuition after a year. A lot of schools give 2 weeks.Bottom line is, we like ivy kids Richmond and we want you guys to succeed, but we also need you guys to think of us parents while you are thinking about yourselves.

I love it! All of the staff is friendly! My son has been attending this campus since August and has learned so much since then. He look forward to going to school every morning which is rare in some cases. I love the curriculum and how much they work with the kids. There is always something different on the calendar for the kids to do wether its crazy hair day, pj day, cookie day or a holiday party. The part I love the most is how I can login to watch the cameras from my phone at any time of the day to see him! I would recommend this learning center to anyone.

My son has been going to Ivy Kids for almost 5 years now!! He started in the infant room at 3 months and now he is in the Pre-K class. Ive loved every teacher and class he has been in. The teachers listen to you and work with you to provide the best for your child. Recently I was having trouble potty training my son. He was attending a program in FBISD half day then going to Ivy Kids the other half. For the summer he was going to be at Ivy Kids full day. I spoke to the director Mrs. Sirisha about my potty training worries and also that I really wanted Andrew potty trained by the end of summer. 1 month later and my son was potty trained. Mrs. Sirisha worked with the teachers and Andrew to get him potty trained. This meant alot to me as a mom who was really worried about her son potty training. Mrs Sirisha is an awesome director who truly cares about the children and also their parents. She has a very caring heart and takes pride in her job. She has gone above and beyond for my son and I wouldnt want him at any other daycare. She has great teachers under her and highly recommend Ivy Kids to any family with children! -Mistura Osinowo
