Ive been taking my sweet girl to The Playhouse Academy since she was 6 weeks old (she is almost 1). My fiancé and I consider them apart of our family. Our daughter lights up when we get to school each day! They have excellent cleaning policies in place (even before the pandemic) and have such a loving, caring staff that truly takes care of your children as their own.
We absolutely love the Playhouse Academy!! From the very start they have been welcoming. My son started there in April in the infant class and we have no complaints. I get updates throughout the day so I know how each day is going. They keep me informed of any concerns they have. His teachers are great and he is always happy when I drop him off. The staff all know him by name and the center is family oriented. I would highly recommend The Playhouse Academy to anyone looking for a child care center.
Ms.Ruby (the owner) and the rest of her staff are amazing and very flexible! I have a 3 year old who has been attending since she was 4 months, she loves it! They have taught her so much I feel as though she is above the learning curve. They communicate very well in person and also utilize Brightwheel! I love seeing what my Mini me is up to during the day. Check Them Out!
I’m so happy that I found The Playhouse Academy. From the moment I entered I knew this was the place that my daughter belonged. The environment is clean and welcoming the teachers are always very excited to interact with the children, they respond to my request in a timely manor and most importantly, my daughter enjoys coming to The Playhouse. Ms Aaliyah and Ms Ruby proactively communicate to all the parents via Bright wheel app and they are always aware of what’s going on in the Playhouse. I highly recommend them if you are looking for childcare i have had an amazing experience thus far.
My 2 year old daughter has been attending The Playhouse Academy for a few months now and we are all thrilled!!! She has opened up so much, she’s made so many friends and she LOVES all her teaches (as do dad and i)! I love being able to see her all day long through the brightwheel app so i can see how she’s doing. The simple fact that she ask me every night before bed if she is going to go to school tomorrow says it all!
Hey Playhouse family, thank you all for the kind words but I must give the credit where it is do ! It goes to my Amazing daughter Aaliyah! She has been my rock though it all here at the Playhouse! When I thought we were defeated she was the one who gave me the strength to keep going! When I fell in the dark and couldn’t see the light;she made it shine !!! She was the one who took charge!!! She always takes charge when she needs to with professionalism and when it comes to enrolling new children She Shines Above and Beyond her position especially when we have parents coming in to tour or showing Love to our staff, parents and wonderful children!!! I want to say, Thank You and I Love 💗 you ; you will always have a special place in my heart 💕 ❤️
My jelly bean has been attending playhouse academy since she was 3 months, and she is turning 4 in September. She started in the infant room before they moved to this building. I have to admit, I was a little worried about her moving from the home environment to the center. The care never changed! You can tell that kids are their passion. My little one will be starting Pre-K in the fall, but I would recommend The Playhouse Academy to anyone looking for a loving environment for their child. You won’t be disappointed!!
My son has been going to The Playhouse Academy since we moved to Henrico about four years ago. When he started he was three and staying with TPA all day. Once he started school he started coming after school and during the summer. I love being able to see pictures of the activities they endure during the day. They welcome him with opening arms every time he comes there. He is always looking forward to going with the crew at Playhouse Academy. The owner and all of the teachers are more than that to us, we have grew to love them as family and could never see us completely never going back to them for care. I highly recommend you to bring your children to The Playhouse Academy if you are looking for them to get loved, educated, and taught manners.
My son has been attending for about a month and he is all ready coming out of his shell. The staff is wonderful! I have no hesitation when I leave him in the morning. Great place!!
My girls love going to TPA!! They attend the after school program and have been taken care of and loved on since 2016 by all the staff! We love the fact that the center treats you as family and is welcoming and friendly. I cant say enough good things about TPA or wed be here all day. Its a wonderful establishment and my children adore the staff :) We love The Playhouse Academy!!!
My husband and I were referred to Playhouse Academy by his co-worker and it was the best decision we have made for our child by far. The facility is safe, clean, bright and colorful. Classrooms are separated according to age groups and are filled with age-appropriate books, toys, and games. They are mindful of the Teacher: Student ratios and are attentive to the childrens needs. The Faculty and Staff integrate learning through, music, reading, arts, crafts, and other activities such as planting seeds and water play outdoors.Moreover, my husband and I love the BRIGHTWHEEL APP!!!!! The Brightwheel app is a resource that allows parents to communicate with Staff through text notifications. We are updated every time our child eats, naps, uses the bathroom or is not feeling well. Brightwheel notifications also include school closings and weather advisories as well as other housekeeping items such as tuition reminders and supplies that we need to bring. It is an invaluable experience as a first time mom to see pictures and videos of our child engaging in activities while at the office. I saw my baby’s first steps via the Brightwheel App. Indeed the app provides a sense of relief and peace of mind.Lastly, Faculty and Staff are phenomenal and provide a family atmosphere which fosters positive interactions for a child’s growth and development. While scouting for a daycare I felt relief and peace of mind while observing other parents and children smiling and engaging with staff members. This stood out to me. What I love about the staff is they are approachable and knowledgeable about early childhood milestones and keep me prepared for the upcoming stages in our child’s life. For instance, I breastfeed our child and pumped daily to maintain milk supply. Not only did Playhouse Academy accommodated our choice to breastfeed, but they also alerted me when it was time to transition to cereal, baby and solid foods. I refer to the Playhouse Staff as my Playhouse Family because they play an integral part in our child’s life.Parents if you are looking for a daycare that is safe, clean, affordable, and fully equipped with a friendly staff. Ive had several different issues in the one year that my children have attended The Playhouse Academy. Management, including the owner and some staff were cold and unwelcoming. If you have any questions or concerns, they immediately get defensive. There were many times I kept questions to myself because I didnt want to get any type of attitude from some of the staff.My children are 14 months apart and they were in the same class. That may not be a huge age difference to some, but for my 3 year old daughter to be in a class with toddlers younger than her was a huge difference to me. Some of the toddlers were as young as 16 months. I didnt agree with the age difference in the class and I spoke with the director and owner about my concern. They didnt see any issues with it. My husband and myself saw that our 3 year old daughter was regressing in some areas of her development. We believe it was because she was in a class with toddlers as young as 16 months old.We also had an issue with a child hitting my daughter on multiple occasions. I expressed my concern with the director and the owner of the daycare. I spoke with the owner by phone about the hitting issue and for an entire 30 minutes she lost her temper and she did nothing but scream in my ear and never let me get a word in. After this last incident, I had had enough. I didnt want someone who looses their temper to continue taking care of my children. The next week I gave notice to withdraw my children. After this last incident, the owner would never acknowledge my presence and completely ignored me when I spoke to her. This behavior was completely rude, unprofessional and uncalled for.They also have a 30 day withdrawal notice policy, which is extreme. Most daycares you have to give a two-week notice to withdraw. If you want to send your children to place where you dont have to worry about a caregiver being cold and unwelcoming and most importantly, loosing temper dont send them here!
