This school is awesome! Students and teachers here are so helpful. This school goes over and beyond the call of duty. Teachers grades papers quickly and isnt a hassle. The teachers are so nice especially Ms.green. I love the new style to blue and gold teams to get kids excited for learning. Everyone is nice to each other. I defiantly recommend this school. jk

If i could give this school zero out of ten stars i would, want to know why well here it is. The reason i give this school such a low rating is because nobody in the school except from the students really care about you they just want to get their $1.50 an hour so they can pay for their apartment for another day.

I never understood why so many families in the west end homeschooled, or sent their kids to private school, until my son started attending Quioccasin aka Byrd Middle.Today was another example of pure insensitive, ignorance on the part of faculty that should be encouraging students, not discouraging them.No surprise it came from guidance counselor Ms. Rice, just last year I called her out for the same exact antics towards my son, he does have documented learning disability.Sadly theres still so called staff within the educational system, that cant seem to grasp one well know fact, a childs learning disability is not tied to their intelligence. That being said, Ms. Rice attempted repeatedly to talk my son out of taking Spanish, stating he would have difficulty due to memorization, too much of a challenge for him to pass. This comes after me stating in e mail last year that my son wanted to take Spanish this year, still he was signed up for Theater Arts that he no interest in. Unfortunately my son insists he wants to stick it out his last year for the sake of his friends.

This school is just a normal school not so special. Most of the kids just wanted attention and loved being annoying. Teachers were just uh... (not too good or too bad.) Some awesome teachers that I want them to be recognize and if you are going to this school, then you should wish for Ms. Reyes

Please dont hate this school. I know the bathrooms are a bit messed up and you hate some of your teachers but, just give it a chance for once. Think about how many other good reviews there are on this school.

I was new to this school last year, I thought I was going to die! I literally hated it here! In every single sentence a student would cuss, I dont want to hear a cuss word every minute of my life. It was hard for me to fit in, but it got a little better over time. It does make me feel uncomfortable how there are only like four windows in the whole school, I need sunshine in my life and this school takes it from me!!! There are a few nice people in this school who know what I mean, some of the teachers are ok. The food here sucks, its disgusting everywhere I go inside the school, the janitors dont clean well. I cant wait until I go to high school. So I recommend going to another school if possible.

I give it 3 stars as most of the schools students are crappy and bully people. Most of the teachers are amazing and I will miss them when I graduate. For example: Mr.Whitehouse, Mr.Hall, Mrs.Reyes, Mrs.Harris etc. A lot of the other teachers were always sassy with me and other students and didnt listen to our opinions. Thank you and bye

This school is trash the food is nasty. The only thing good here is the sports teams. Thats like the only thing good about this school. I would recommend if you could go to a different school do it. Dont have a chance here if you hate getting in trouble a lot. So I would not have came here if someone had told me how bad it is. The hallways are so messed up there A,B,C,D,E hall the 100,200,300 hall. So this school is messed up. If you have a chance to try the food dont the lunch ladys dont even wear hair nets. So if you get hair inn your food you know why. I would rather go to Brookland the Quioccasin. Get in trouble for little things if I had a chance I would move schools in a heart beat. I am going into 7th grade and the teachers and people at Byrd are amazing but the appearance and name of the school is not the best. In my opinion they shouldnt have changed the name. Also if you walk into Byrd it has 4 windows and is honestly completely disgusting in its appearance. So Byrd or Quiocassin please redo the inside.

This school is ok some teachers are ok but then teachers like Mr.Whitehorse and Mrs.Redford are good teacher and will try to help you out

I am a part of the Christian club that you are talking about(QCF) i think that the other club that you are talking about the LGBTQ to my knowledge is not a club, feel free to correct me if im wrong but the stuff you are saying is very ignorant. I understand that there are multiple religions out there( and no Atheism is not a religion) no matter who says it is. I also understand that not everybody has the same political views as other people. But with my political views common sense and fairness actually exist.

I went to this school in middle school. I go to j.r tucker high school now in the 9th grade. this place is just in bad shape. smells like cat litter in the hallways. bathrooms were nasty. food tasted weird. The hallways were dark and it looked like a jail cell. No windows in hallways. Teachers were ok.

Currently, in HS but I was severely bullied at this school during my middle school years. Hated my life there. The african-american and white population is the majority and as a minority I was treated very differently than my peers. Certain teachers were kind to students like the Earth Science teacher Mrs.Smith, and Mr.Richard. Still remember them to this day, they loved having me, probably the only teachers that did. Ended up graduating this place with stellar academics and Academic Olympian silver medal, currently attending HS in New Jersey. Stay away from this place, unless you dont care about receiving a good education.

This school has so pros and cons. The special events for students are good but the classrooms make you feel claustrophobic and the bathrooms are nasty and dont even get me started with the food.

I give this school two stars.Half of the ratings on here are students and not even parents. Lets the parents decide. I have my own look on this school and I honestly dont like it. But people have their OWN opinions.I have my reasons, and here they are.Ive have MULTIPLE times that my lunch account has GLITCHED or even SCAMMED. I have put money in there, and yes ABOUT $20 DOLLARS. The nest day I would have $2 dollars left.The studensts here are VERY rude and missbehaved. I have been bullyed here for TWO YEARS straight. I have been called very inappropriate words. I have been pushed, made fun of, and ect. This is not a good learning environment IN ANY WAY.The food here is very nasty and not that good. There was times I saw some luch ladies that had NO GLOVES ON when they served the food.Multiple teachers are very rude when a small amount are very chill and sweet.Parents,I have to say this might not be the school for your child. I have seen very sweet kids here that have changed over time. I have to say that the spirit weeks and holiday activity are very enjoyable but overall its very badI hope you all have a good day/night.

Ok this is going to be a long and complete review. i feel like this school is really trying. I go/ have gone here in 7th grade and so far my year has had its ups and downs. lets start with the most talked about thing in the reviews, the cafe food. its not the best food and it may be the equivalent of jail food but there are some cases where the lunches are acceptable. on Wednesdays, we get dominos pizza, which is a better than their regular pizza. and the fruits are the kind of fruit that is either frozen or canned or gassed or GMO. I love fresh, organic fruit, and i cant eat the apples they provide because they taste like chemicals. this is nothing against the cafeteria workers, but the quality of the food they serve. the food is not very healthy. every day i see basically the same thing with a few exceptions: grilled cheese, chicken sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich, hamburger, pepperoni pizza, cheese pizza(extremely bland), and some kind of canned vegetable in a type of juice. next is teachers. i have meet some nice and sympathetic teachers and i have meet some mean, ignorant teachers. Im not going to name anyone. the discipline and punishment in this school is very broken. sometimes students get punished for being involved with a student doing the same act who got off free. Until now i thought the discipline was fair until something of the details i will not discus happened, they are very appeasing with their system and never tell anyone anything. next is the students. many of the students are in their own world and have no empathy or sympathy for any other students outside of their circle. i have experienced bullying a multitude of times during this one year. there are SOME nice students, but most students are so focused on their image and being popular that they are afraid to lose their position on the popularity meter. there is a lot of fighting between young men and women. there is a lot of harassment. next the quality of the school. This part i take VERY seriously. im an outside person and i hate to be without sunlight and fresh air. there are no windows in this facility, and the air smells fake and stale. there are many times i wish i can take a quick inhalation of fresh air to relieve my constant headaches. the air is almost unbreathable. all you get is artificial light. i am not a fan. other than the basic things is my own opinion. i think this school is not one that should be avoided. middle school will be tough no matter what school you go to, although the quality of this school is that of a prison, you are still getting an education.

Giving QMS a 1 star is generous. First of all, the teachers at QMS are weird and unprofessional. An example of this is Mr. Lazenby, he was caught sexting an undercover cop. Some teachers are the best including Mrs. Mallon, Ms. Koska, and Mr. Timok (He left). Second, the school food is garbage. When I eat lunch, I have to keep reminding myself that I am eating school food, not prison food. I had a chicken sandwich and I took a bite, only to realize the the entire sandwich was just deep fried fat. The education at QMS also sucks. HCPS wants to be the best school district in the US, but is in the bottom 50 percent of school performance. Lastly, the constant barrage of new rules like no gum or being back in class within 5 min. of leaving breakfast only puts more stress on the student. The gum thing is stupid, they catch you chewing gum once, you get a referral with administration. Im sorry but that is stupid, they think they are Cracking down to better the school, but they are only taking away all the student freedoms they can that are not illegal. The school is also sexist towards boys. I get called up to the councilors office because I bullied someone. There was no witnesses to this event but still I got a stern warning and a message to think before I speak. This girl couldve just ignored this and gone on her merry way, but no she wanted to muddy my name. The school also claims that is protects everyone from discrimination, but being white I get called colonizer and racist just for my skin color and the school doesnt stop them. Meanwhile a white kid says cotton picker to a black guy and he gets suspended for 10 days.If you can, dont come here youll regret all three years of it. UPDATE One post says that criticizing QMS is petty and to that I say, that is stupid. How is QMS suppose to change if there is nothing to criticize. This person also says that they are gay and they fit in. The only reason you fit in is because if people make fun of you, they loose their chance to go to college and the teacher would lose their jobs.

This school can be trash sometimes and it can be cool. Most of the time some kids act ghetto and i hate it. It’s not a bad school but the people in wuiocassin are, this my opinion but the school needs to learn how to disaplin there students not just by giving them alps or suspension over something minor. I think there should be a thing where the students talk it out because the school system is just messed up , they shouldn’t do that, but anyway the teachers are ok some are whack like oof and the administrators are more oof I like two out of the 3 but one of them is whack, Two of them actually listen and seem nice but one of them is like u have alps or whatever for something minor. If not for special teachers and counselors like Mr. Wash and Ms. Hamm and Ms. Tyler and others (too many to write), this would not be considered a good school. The people in it are what make the school what it is. Unfortunately not all who occupy them are ideal. I am grateful to have come across some good ones especially when it concerns children with disabilities.
