This music school is the tops! The staff and teachers are professional, and talented. I can see how much they love to teach children and adults. The recitals they host are a great way to see progress in your skills and look forward to songs to come in my own household! I highly recommend Rochester Academy of Music and Arts. Dedicated professional staff make learning music fun. My son loves learning piano and voice. His teacher is so talented and knows most every instrument. As a parent ,I appreciate the opportunities my son has to display what he is learning. He sang at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC , Strong museum of play, Red Wings stadium and a local cruise. Students take test and earn beautiful trophies to encourage them. I also appreciate the fact that there is a camera in the classroom so I can see my son practicing from the waiting area. The waiting area is comfortable, with many books to look at as well as coffee, tea and cocoa. I have only good things to say about Rochester Academy of Music and Arts

Brigid is amazing

We really love taking lessons at the Rochester Academy of Music & Arts! The teachers are fantastic and work with my children at their level! I have a daughter in theater and her voice teacher helps her prepared for auditions while my other daughter is advancing in piano! They are also so kind and understanding about family/life balance! Sometimes we have to miss our lessons - and that is okay!

Simply the best private music lessons in Rochester!

The teachers and staff at RAMA make me feel welcome and comfortable as a learner and valued as a member of the community. I love the positive energy here. As a beginner in singing, I am so grateful that taking voice lessons at RAMA has been an opportunity for me to open up and grow as a person. Its a big deal for me.

My son has been taking guitar lessons here for about 4 months. We love it here! RAMA welcomes you with warm friendly faces, and caring teachers who are excellent at what they do. The music instruction is very high quality and individualized for each student. The teachers are professional and make it fun to learn. The office is smoothly run by friendly, professional staff. RAMA gives students many opportunities to perform and give back to the community. They are excellent at hosting many family friendly events to get the whole family involved and having fun! It is a GREAT place to learn!

We love the combination of professionalism, fun, high-quality music education, and contemporary vibe that exists at RAMA. My kids look forward to making music with their teachers and preparing for the upbeat, comfortable and entertaining recitals. I look forward to taking them, and to hearing as they improve and enjoy their music. Piano and voice so far, but if time allows, theyd jump at the chance to take another instrument there!

The Rochester Academy of Music and Arts has been the most awesome experience that my daughter Alexandra has had with many of the music teachers she has that have instructed her while playing the piano. We have never had any difficulty scheduling a time when it comes to Alexandras lessons and her busy schedule with school and playing sports, they have been reasonable to accomplish this. The school also plans recitals not only at the Academy but we have also been on the water of Lake Ontario on the Town Belle tour. Rochester Academy of Music and Arts has been an AMAZING place since the day I inquired about vocal and piano lessons for my Son about 1 year ago. Brigid was incredibly pleasant and coordinated a back to back lesson for him and he was able to start right away. Honestly, I was a bit worried about whether or not Brandon would connect with his coaches enough that he would want to continue on. He has been diagnosed with what they used to call “Aspergers”, now they call it “Autism Spectrum” which clearly has its challenges with anxiety and social interaction.That being said, Brandon’s experience has been ALL but stressful. He arrives with an ease and comfort level with a sense of belonging…this is HUGE! He has close connections with his coaches. He regards them highly. I cannot speak enough on their behalf, other than truly AMAZING and talented people. Brandon is able to share his musical interests with them and play or sing songs he has chosen, what a huge difference this makes because he is having FUN while learning too! His self-esteem and confidence has SOARED while at the same time developing empathy for others. I have also observed Brandon taking more of a leadership role with others when they require help. Can you say WOW?!! As far as coping with Anxiety, he tends to use his practice time at home as a time to relax and enjoy and reduce any stress he is encountering, it is just so awesome to see how he has taken off.RAMA is not just a great place, but it is full of warm and caring professionals who go the extra mile to ensure the BEST experience for their students. The Director and Owner are deeply committed to the positive experiences and success of the students and it shows throughout the Academy and in the Community as well. There are so many things I love about RAMA—the convenience of having both of my kids take lessons at the same time with lots of time slots, the bracelets, trophies and recitals that give my kids a sense of accomplishment and so many little touches that add up to a wonderful experience.

My children have been taking lessons for three years and I am constantly impressed by their experiences at RAMA. They have been perfectly paired with their instructors and everyone, from their teachers to Brigid, the schools director, takes a vested interest in their success.
