We recently enrolled out son in basketball at the RARA.? Just prior to the first day of practice we received the rules from the coach which are set by RARA. Basketball would consist of drills and no actually basketball since this is considered a contact sport. In addition no parents would be allowed in the building. You would drop your child at the door. Keep in mind this is for a 6 and 8 year old. The thought of leaving our child with a stranger that we don’t know and not letting any parents be there is very concerning. Perhaps the policy has changed recently. I am sure people are well vetted at RARA however as parents we have a duty and obligation to keep our kids safe.In order to clarify when we registered the front desk did not have the rules available and said email the coach. The individual running the front desk was NOT aware of the rules.

Well intentioned but poor communication.Unlike other local Rochester or Oakland County athletic/sports associations, when you sign up your child for an activity with RARA, dont expect an initial welcome/reminder email with 1) information that a class or activity will begin on X date at Y time nor 2) instructions on how to prepare your child for the first class. RARA expects you to read your receipt received at the time of purchase for instructions on a class or activity for your child. However, not all instructions are included. So, RARA further expects/anticipates parents to surf their website to find additional instructions, etc. I-9 and other local sports associations at least have the courtesy to send an email with a general overview, welcome and reminder of your childs participation in a given activity.

As a long time member of RARA I am usually pleased, but recently one of the receptionist has been very rude. I asked to renew my membership and she acted like it was a huge inconvenience. I believe her name is Katie, Katie seems very nice but an attitude check wouldn’t hurt.

Inadequate parking to support the number of people signed up for classes. Sorry, but thats simple logistics that any organization should be able to figure out instead of overbooking for more profit.

When I look on the website it says the non gym side is open , but when I go to the other side it’s either closed or kids party going on that’s isn’t even in the field house. Just a little confused on why the website says it’s a accessible at the time of day

Im so disappointed with RARA. My children have attended camps and classes for many years and have loved it, so when the playscape opened up we were ready to book my sons birthday party at RARA. I contacted Miss M via phone and email and never received a response on how to proceed with booking his party. This went on for about 2 weeks, I left at least 3 voicemails and sent maybe 5 emails and received nothing. I visited RARA in person and was told Miss M was in and out of the office and to keep trying to contact her since she was the only one who could book the party. Its been over a month and I still never received a response. I will never even attempt a party at RARA again its not worth the effort.
