I cannot say enough good things about this school. Both of my daughters attended two years of preschool here (Big School programs) and absolutely loved it! They learned social skills (sharing and taking turns with friends) and independence (getting themselves dressed to go outside). The teachers are all certified and they love the students like their own! They are friendly, patient and nurturing and made my girls feel comfortable from the very first day of school. The play-based environment is ideal for curious, growing minds. And the fenced playground is perfect for plenty of safe, outdoor play. The co-operative aspect made me feel involved and vested in my childrens education. There is a great sense of community and support among parents and teachers. Not only did my daughters make lasting friendships, but I have as well. I love our Winton Road family!

Our daughter is in the 5-day class at WRNS. We are so happy with the program. The emphasis on play and social development is exactly what she needed before she heads into kindergarten. She has thrived in this environment, coming out of her shell and making wonderful new friends. Mrs. Parker, and all the teachers and assistants, are the best!

Our daughter is finishing her second year of preschool at Winton Road Nursery School this spring and heading to kindergarten. She has made so many friends from all around Rochester at WRNS, including several who are heading to Brighton public schools with her next year. We chose WRNS, honestly, because almost everybody was asked about preschool in our neighborhood recommended it. Now that weve been here for two years, I understand why it has such a good reputation. These teachers just get little kids. Its amazing to see them quietly hold the childrens attention at circle time, or to warmly invite a shy child into the classroom at drop-off. They give the kids freedom to explore and plenty of time for unstructured play, yet they also provide predictable routines and structure. The classrooms are wonderful and I love that the children get to choose among all three rooms during visiting time each day, and make friends in other classrooms. They also go on nature walks, listen to the orchestra that practices in the church, have special visitors. The instruction is always part of songs or games. It truly is learning through play. There is just no place in Rochester like WRNS. Were going to miss it so much!

Our family is so lucky to have found WRNS! After almost a year of searching for the perfect place for our daughter to start her education I finally found Winton Road Nursery School. We felt confidant that this was the place for us from the first time we visited. We loved the fact that it was a cooperative school, giving parents the opportunity to serve in the classrooms and be part of the school. The teachers are just wonderful and the kids adore them. WRNS offers the perfect environment for our daughter where she can play, explore, learn, interact, and grow. Every time I pick her up she has so much to tell us about her day and all of the fun things she learned about, whether it be a new book, one of their amazing art projects, a new song, one of the many special classroom visits (firefighters, music man, puppet lady, small animals, yoga, etc), and everything in between. How much she has grown in the past year just amazes me and I know that WRNS has had a HUGE part in that. This was her first year here in the 2 day AM program (she just turned 4) and she is going to stay for next year too (theres no where else I would send her!). Our youngest is also going to start here next fall. We love WRNS!
