Excellent school district with quality education balanced with excellent art, sports and music programs which means your kid will have a chance in succeeding in many ways while going to school... not just focused on AP placement as other local schools districts... this one strives to develop our children into their full potential.

Great school with great athletics

We love IHS. One child graduated and went on to graduate RIT. One child currently enrolled. Lots of extra curriculum to choose. Most students of friends have gone on to college and have done or are doing well. Safe for children; except for weather related closings. Children most students are required to walk, bike or drive to school. Our children had a 25 minute walk to secondary school. 10 to Junior and Senior High schools. West Irondequoit will not close unless the temperature drops below -25 (negative 25) including wind chill factors. However, even then schools may still remain open. EYE feel that is a complete disregard for safety. So the rating is 1*.Eye am editing this review Jan29 2019 as it’s 4 degrees outside before the windchill factor AND city and Greece schools are closed AND there is a weather advisory but IHS remains open. This is at least the 2nd time this or similar has happened in the past 2 years. It happens usually at least once per school year.The schools are beautifully kept. The staff and instructors are excellent and friendly and seem to care for your children’s education and well being. And they seem to care about the quality of education that they provideClosings 1*Everything else 5*3*

The field quality is excellent as well as a nice playground and its always nice to watch baseball or football there in season
