We are so blessed and thankful to have found Ambleside school for our son. He had struggled academically in public school, however, Ambleside has been able to work with his individual learning needs and he has flourished in so many ways in the short time he has been attending. His anxieties about school has turned in to excitement and joy of learning and he has gained an incredible amount of confidence both academically and socially.

This school has been a Godsend to our family. Knowing our childrens personalities so well, our pediatrician recommended a private school.Ambleside was described as homeschooling in a building. We are so grateful that we went for a tour. That was 6 years ago.It has truly just been a Godsend for our kids and our family. Both of them are flourishing and joyous.Meg Armstrong

After attending public school for seven years, my daughter was losing her interest in learning. This was a child who always loved to read and loved school. At the beginning of Seventh grade, we decided to join Ambleside. What an amazing transformation has occurred. She is loving learning again. She is excited to go to school and when picked up in the afternoon, she has all sorts of things to tell us about what she learned that day. But Ambleside provides more than a high quality learning environment. It is Christ centered and focuses on personal responsibility and development. There is discussion in the classroom about ideas, philosophies, and the childs point of view is heard. Ambleside is about educating for knowledge and understanding and not about facts and figures that are to be regurgitated for a test.. Ambleside provides an environment where children become prepared for life!

My son transferred to Ambleside in the 7th grade. I wish I had done it sooner. He is now a sophomore at Ambleside and plans to graduate from Ambleside. We love Ambleside for many reasons. They make learning fun, they have a philosophy of education that is universal to all subjects and students. Each teacher, administrator and the curriculum is Christ centered. The high school is accredited and they offer field studies that coincide with the curriculum. I am a public school teacher and I believe this private school is the best alternative for all types of students. You are invited to tour the school anytime and learn about the Charlotte Mason philosophy behind Ambleside of San Angelo. You will not regret it.

Wanted to give a positive testimonial to any new families or for you to share to other families that you know might be on the fence about sending their children to private school. My son has been attending Ambleside since 7th grade. The summer before he started Ambleside, we had to get him up to par on math and cursive writing (as his prior public school in another state didnt teach students cursive, and the school was so big, the teachers had no extra time to help struggling students.) He blossomed under the wonderful care of his teacher for middle school, becoming the lead in Macbeth in 8th grade. Hes now a sophomore, and because of the care and attention that Ambleside shows their students, scored high enough on his PSATs to be invited this summer to Stanford for a ten day course of law, culminating in a mock trial run completely by the 25 students invited, with the oversight of the involved professors and lawyers. Scholarships for this opportunity are extremely rare and difficult to get due to the competitive nature of the program. We just found out that based upon my sons merit, all his knowledge obtained from going to Ambleside, and all the public service that the students perform at Ambleside, that we were awarded a partial scholarship to get us further to our goal. Had he been going to school anywhere else, I dont think we would be where we are now. Thank you to all of the teachers that have seen his potential and helped him unlock it!

I have two children attending Ambleside School of San Angelo. My older child has been there 3 years, beginning with kindergarten and now in second grade. My younger child is in her 2nd year. She completed preK and is now in Kindergarten.I never imagined sending my kids to a private school. However, after attending kinder in a public school it became my mission to find a better alternative for my oldest son. At Ambleside, my kids are developing a love of learning while receiving a rich and rigorous curriculum.A big focus in early grades is the development of lifelong healthy habits that support learning and success later in life. The atmosphere supports real growth rather than fostering stress, while the teachers and school center on Christ. Among private schools, Ambleside is priced well among competitors while providing superior teacher-student ratios.Ambleside is the only private school in San Angelo that uses an educational philosophy as a basis for instruction. Education is taught using the Charlotte Mason philosophy. Mason was an English author, philosopher and educator. This school focuses on her educational principles which are best summarized as, Children are born Persons and Education is an Atmosphere, a Discipline, and a Life.Students are nurtured in mind, body and spirit. This translates to lots of enrichment classes in art, violin, voice, spanish as well as nature studies outside and plenty of outdoor play. Ambleside educates the whole person and instructs them in a loving Christian atmosphere. School tours are available upon request at any time. Please call to visit and see for yourself.Charlotte Mason was the unlikely pioneer of a social and intellectual movement. Mason spent her life bringing “common thought on the subject of education to the level of scientific research.” Her theories were tested in thousands of English schools in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Teachers and children using her approach consistently flourished in knowledge and character, and continue to do so even today!!!

So many inappropriate incidents happened at this school followed by denials of no one saw anything to maybe the school was not right for us. my 4yr old daughter came home crying and scared after a teenaged stranger, FORMER employees child was allowed into her classroom asking very inappropriate questions associating hugging and touching. next were the repeated tickling games and hugs by boys 2 and 3 times her age. the school response was empty and cold. after teaching my daughter to say leave her alone and not to touch her came repeatedly being beat up by one boy until she was kicked in groin while another boy yelled to kick her in the face so i enrolled her in self defense to the schools dislike eventhough she was still punched in stomach days later. ambleside saying all allegations were proven to be false is absurd insinuating my child and i were not truthfull as if she made it all up. well after each and every incident, the matter was discussed with our attorney, our doctors, and many others. Even amblesides schools international administration were apologizing for the school and faculty. it was all so traumatic we both found it difficult to return leaving 2 prepaid months of tuition and catering unattended. our only recourse is legal action before anything even worse happens to any other children. this place has very poor structure, even worse leadership, but most crucially it lacks integrity. as a so called Christian school, i am sure Christ Himself would be dismayed if not ashamed at circumstances such as these occurring at a school proclaiming His Name and beliefs then denying any and everything my little girl came home repeatedly crying and frightened about like Peter denying Christ before crucifixion. turned out to be a bunch of snobs hiding behind a religious veil willing to allow my motherless child to be morally and physically violated for their own selfishness which seems rather sacreligious for a so called Christian school. although it does explain the small class sizes, along with very few completing the school and the negative student review stating it didnt prepare them for college very well summarizes what should be expected from past experiences. i couldnt risk the wellbeing of my child at a place like this where such inappropriateness of all sorts were occurring with inconsiderate responses of ignorance and lack of concern. ironic how she loves her new public school saying it teaches better with much more to offer. thankyou GOD for structure required by the state.
