Wonderful! Im extremely happy I went here and had my teeth taken care of: Deep cleaning, root canal, cavity and crown. The student I had was about to graduate and I got fantastic care from her. They tell you what needs to be done, the plan, and follow-up. The instructor checked things periodically to make sure everything was going well. Clean, modern, very good facilities. In HIV+ and was able to get help with the benefits counselor for financial assistance. Contact that person first to see if theres any benefits or financial aid for you becomes of income or whatever. My teeth work is all done and it was painless, quick and my teeth are fantastic.

I had my wisdom teeth removed here. Or so I thought and paid for. The students left the tips of the wisdom teeth in my jaw without telling me, I just found out recently because all the pain I was having. I paid for a full extraction and they didnt give me a full extraction. Now Im in extreme pain. I went into UOP again for a follow up and they say there is no connection between the tips left in and my horrible pain.I will never be returning here, this place should be closed. Your better off paying full price some place else.

I have been going to the Dugoni School for two years now and the care has been amazing. The students are in their last year of training, about to enter the professional workforce, and they are very professional, and every 15-20 minutes the professors come by and check in. Last year Ruchi Jain was my dentist and was amazing, and this year, after Ruchi graduated, Alyssa is incredible. There is a payment plan that is helpful, and also the fees are very reasonable, and make it possible, especially in these difficult times, to get the best care. I myself am a neuropsychologist, and so I appreciate the very high level of professionalism.

4 years ago they would have received 4 stars.Im not sure whats happened. Maybe their multi multi millions of dollars new facilities. While they are very impressive, a fancy building doesnt get you good dentistry. In the last 3 years, every procedure theyve done has failed. Now, a large filling has simply fallen out. The time before, I had an infection and the student dentist caused the most unbearable pain while giving me an injection right into the infection. I screamed so loudly and flung my arm in pain. Then he said I was endangering him. I suppose so. But where was the experienced faculty licensed dentist?Plus, everything takes 3x as long with multiple appointments necessary. I understand this is a teaching clinic, so thats ok. But not with work that lasts 9 months. I suspect that UOP administration has greatly increased the enrollment to pay for the fancy digs, but not faculty. If you need a cheap price for treatment, go to Tijuana or Algodones, Mexico.

Not trans competent or even friendly. It took me nearly a year to even be placed with a student, and that was after monthly calls and check ins after the date they told me I would be assigned. I went four times - an initial intake, an emergency dentistry visit, and two appointments with my student. They sent me a bill for my intake I was not told about, and which should have been covered by insurance. I was forced to give repeated reminders that I am transgender, asked to give personal details of my gender related surgeries, reminded that students do have training on how to speak to transgenders, and when I finally decided it is not worth it to me to be both a guinea pig and dehumanized as a trans person, I called my students supervisor, and asked to be reassigned. I was informed that she couldnt promise it would be any better with anyone else. Thats all I need to know about the culture at this school. She seemed relieved when I chose to no longer be a patient here, Im sure that is much less work for her.I do not go to the dentist to explain what transgender people are and that you need to talk to us like we are people. I go to let a stranger poke around in my mouth. Dont make it harder to trust you.

I have been a patient of the UOP - Dental School since September 2018. I cant say enough about my experience and the level of care that Ive received. From the first point of contact at the front desk to the intake and consultation and all treatment all Ive witnessed is professional, courteous, caring and compassionate care. In the beginning they are very transparent regarding the fact that it is a school and that the process of appointments and even procedures WILL BE longer than normal. So dont expect to be able to call up and get in the chair the next day or week. However what you can expect is a state of the art, clean facility and that you are in the best care possible.

I finally asked what is going on. The other receptionist went upstairs and got a student to come downstairs. Needless to say this is unprofessional to make people sit there and not check them in - my time is precious and its not easy finding parking. To say I was annoyed is an understatement. I dont recommend this school. I went in for an emergency tooth filling. The students who work there and you get assigned to, completely dont understand the work or know how to successfully perform a procedure. Luckily there are Faculty there who oversee the students and step in if you complain or they come by and see the student like in my case had misdiagnosed my chart for heavy procedures when in fact something more simple worked.Im thankful for the professional dentists they have on hand to oversee. But that ends there. These professionals made me think the students are paying their salary. They had me get set up to become a patient afterwards although the warning sign had shown of students incompetence. I was set up with an Asian student named Justin. This guy always made misdiagnosis and got corrected and I complained because he didnt know what he was doing and the dentist had to come take over. Justin was the worst at giving me my next appointment because he has to check his schedule or going on vacation. The students should not been left in charge of such sensitive delegation they students are no where near ready to work on anyone mouth. Because I missed 2 appointments because one was canceled because the student left and the next one I couldnt stick with. Then the next one I actually forgot it. The school banned me from ever returning and also was no one to overturn the decision. I dont think they like a man of color. Had to demand a refund for the whole becoming a patient ripoff.

Im now on year 2 and unfortunately have gotten no where. I signed on as a research patient due to issues that also involved Stanford Hospital and Clinics. Since then I given information that has been ignored, left messages that usually also get ignored and helped them out in many ways concerning the retrieving information from Stanford. I have spoken with several of the professors there concerning the issues at hand and we have all agreed upon what needs to be done and discussed how to reach the end result. This is where one of the major issues comes about as it does now with all medical facilities, lack of communication and placement of notes in file for follow up on patients. So as it stands I strongly advise that you document all information from calls, appointments, & procedures. Also make sure to note dates, times and individuals who you have dealt with to make it easier upon yourself when you experience problems. So good luck and hopefully good health to follow.

My student dentist is Seror Alrubaye, and I am extremely happy with her care. She has an interesting history. As a dentist from Kurdish Iraq, she wanted to practice here in the U.S. so, naturally she had to qualify all over again here in the U.S. hence her training at the Dugoni School in downtown San Francisco. Ive been getting my dental care from Dugoni for some years now and while all my student dentists have been excellent Seror is something special. Although very attractive, her personality is simply off the chart charming but not in an overt and heavy-handed way. Just a very subtle and professional manner that I can appreciate; and, Im confident that most if not all her charges will feel the same way. Couple her professional personality with astute technical and dental knowledge and youve got the fine combination of a dental professional who gets the job done while making the patient comfortable. I will remember her long after she is gone from Dugoni, and settled into the city in which she wishes to open her practice. Dugoni is well served by her.

Horrible experience! I want to apply for dental hygienist program at this school. I meet with Matthew Peifer who is admissions coordinator there. He gave me all information about how to submit my application including how to get evaluation of my international diploma and where. I knew that every school has specific requirements about evaluation agencies and I made accent on that question. He sad that it doesn’t matter which agency you will use for that, it must be from NACES list (national association of credential evaluation services web site) he sad. I picked one of them from NACES web site. I spent $350 for that and 1,5 month including time to get confirmation from my previous university which is out from US. After how I submitted my application and evaluation I got email from people from Stockton which it was surprised me because I had all communication with Matthew from San Francisco, that they can’t accept my evaluation from that agency that I picked because they have they own list of evaluation agencies. They doesn’t work with agency who did my evaluation. Now I’m out of pocket on $350 and out of time to be available apply for this program. And they closing eyes that their admission coordinator Matthew gave me wrong information. And he is admission coordinator there, he is face of the school! What kind of education you can get there if face of the school is not professional and not responsible for information about school!!! Never have deal with that place!!

I cant thank this school, the staff and student dentists (especially Arezoo) enough. Several years after having bariatric surgery I started having major issues with my teeth and gums (My local dentists didnt question the reason why, but every time I was referred to another specialist, another root canal, mind you not once did I ever get a crown after a root canal. I always thought I had good dental insurance but after 1 or 2 appointments I had already maxed out my annual cap. 9 or 10 months later, I was even in worse shape, root canal was unsuccessful, now I was having the tooth that was just worked on extracted. I decided that I needed more bang for my buck and insurance so I make the 300 mile round trip approximately every 2 weeks or so. My student Dentist, Arezoo is absolutely the best. She explains everything to me and doesnt hesitate to ask the Professors for their opinions. Because of my declining tooth decay, we all spoke in lenght trying to identify the cause, after providing my medical history and surgery 7 years prior we identified that I had a sever case of acid reflux, it was strongly conveyed that I needed to contact my bariatric doctor. After 2 tests and only 2 months, I had surgery to cease the acid reflux and was told that I could have eventually been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus had I not return. Ive had 3 additional teeth extracted, however I also have a partial that looks perfect and fits great! Oh my insurance, At the end of 12 months, I capped out, but in 3 weeks started with my new annual balance. I truly am blessed and cant thank Arezoo or the staff enough for caring enough to really take the time and ask why my teeth were decaying at such an alarming rate. Arezoo is about to graduate in the next 30 days, I will be assigned a new student Dentist, but I have a friend for life. Thank you Arezoo for your kindness,. Carolyn

I never write on any review this is my first time because I think people need to know about WHITE SHIRT. We away thing these people are honest .NO they are no different than any other business money($) come first.6 years ago,my bridge(three crowns are connect to each other) had some movement ,I came here ,I was told it is o.k.and because I just had a baby my teeth and gum would be sorted a bit. Then they told me I need a crown on the tooth which the filling was too old and deep. I went on had it done, About 6 months later, I came back for teeth cleaning, they told me I need a root canal on the tooth which supports the bridge.I was really mad, then I wonder, if I had have the bridge replaced early, I might not have to do the root canal and the crown that I had done was that necessary.I was mad because I felt like they told me to have the services which to fulfill the students requirement so that they can graduate.I promise myself never see or talk to these people again. Unfortunately, last week I went to outside dentist , he found the gold crown has a hole, I called school ,they refused to take a look and blame on me.I belief this is malpractice because I had few gold crowns which last for almost 19 years. They even told me that gold crown is strong and last more than 10 years. Now this one last only 5 years and 6 months. Now , they said no warranty .If you decide to go here, go with your instance demand what for your need not for their need.If the students need requirement to graduate, they should offer big discount to people who could not effort the dental services and thatwe would have called them WHITE SHIRT with a good heart.Speaking of discount, they said that you can save 40% of outside dentist. It is not true,a lot of dentists are giving reasonable prices for those who paying cash.If you want to go here dont be stupid like me paying in full.I had paid over thousand of dollars to this place but now I have a problem with their malpractice they dont even want to make any compromise and saying that I am not a good candidate for the school.when I had this crown done the student was not good that is why I am asking for their consideration but they are shutting me out. Remember dont pay in full. Once, money on their hands, they dont know you Also, this place can be rough for those who have to work, one service,it can takes for months. If you want to try this place get ready to spent half day here for every appointment and make sure to ask for other student dentist and another instructor if you run into the bad one that I had.
