This is a good school and the owner, Kasey, has a positive outlook on life as well as a good understanding of how to properly deal with children. His daughter often helps out with the younger children as well. She is a patient and quick to smile. Both Coach Noel and Coach Andrew are very knowledgeable and highly skilled in JiuJitsu. If you have concerns or complaints I would encourage you directly contact the owner Kasey. Most likely hes already working on it.

I trained under Denny for something like 18 months ish and only left due to location. I love this school. On any given day you will receive very high level instruction, very effective jiu jitsu, compatible in the constantly changing modern jiu jitsu world. While I was there I trained kettle bells and gained 10 lbs of muscle. GAIIINS son!!! Last but not least Denny is a really, really fun guy and he cares deeply about his students Jimmy is also hilarious. Osssssssss

A great school with a great vibe. I dropped by here this past June when I was in San Fran for a few days. Recently, I was back in San Fran for a tournament and ran into a bunch of the grapplers from here at the tourney. ALL of them said whats up and chatted it up a bit. I cant tell you how highly that made me feel about the quality of people that train at this school. Great people, Great Grappling! If youre looking for a place to train or if youre like me and find yourself in the area for a few days, you need to DEFINITLEY check this place out!

Dropped in for 2 classes during my vacation in San Francisco. Denny was very welcoming and all the guys there were very friendly. Denny is not only a very experienced grappler, he also teaches jiu jitsu with passion in a very pedagogical way. I will definitely visit again when i come back to San Fransisco!

Anytime I am in SF I have to go see Denny to check out the latest techniques and train he is up to. Denny might be young but he has years and years of experience on the mat. The guy is a Phnom. He is master Eddie Bravos first black belt and youngest I believe too. Multiple time world champion!I never miss a class here and if you are lucky enough to live in the area I HIGHLY suggest training here.

Excellent place to learn jiu jitsu. Friendly staff, clean, well organized facility. Strong community feel with sister schools in San Mateo and Walnut Creek. I have been training here for more than three years, and will continue to train here as this place makes me feel welcome.

I trained here for a few months (please see below as why only a few months), and the first thing I should mention is this:Denny has created a welcoming, friendly, and attentive space that is (A) ideal for beginners to learn from veterans while also being (B) ideal for veterans to learn, experiment and refine combat techniques that are revolutionary and effective for both sport and self-defense.Before going to 10th Planet, my experiences with martial arts were under strict, traditional instructors who showed zero tolerance for failure to understand or execute. That experience left me with the false notion that martial arts required harsh mentors and harsh peers in order to grow and compete.I was absolutely relieved, almost confused, to be in an environment where peers and mentors emphasized the growth of all students with everyone receiving the same focus and attention regardless of level. Instead of dreading the sweat and hard work, I looked forward to the opportunity to practice techniques and concepts taught by Denny and other members at 10th Planet.I had to stop because of a truly insane work schedule which nobody can account for (12-16 hour days 6-7 days a week 6-9 months out of the year). I have since moved out of the Bay Area, acquired a busy but reasonable work schedule, and I am now looking to start sessions at my local 10th Planet.

Denny has been an on again, off again no gi coach for me since I attended an Eddie Bravo seminar in 2007 and he was Bravos demonstration partner. You get good at what you do, and Denny has been exclusive no gi since belt - and hes Eddies first black belt. I wish I hadnt devoted my time to the gi, because Dennys has mad details and teaching skills.Plus, his academy is supportive and friendly.Props!

No-gi Jiu-jitsu at its best.At 10th Planet Sf you get a world champion black-belt instructor in the groundbreaking 10th Planet system that is there every day, personally leading every class. I have never seen a jiu-jitsu instructor take his students as seriously and as personally as Denny does. Nor have I seen anyone coach his students through the often complex and hard to grasp technique as well as he does.On top of that, you get an awesome group of people. The atmosphere in 10th planet is extremely conducive to learning - everyone trains hard, real hard, but its a largely ego-free environment with everyone jumping in to help each other learn and progress. As a result, I havent seen any serious injuries, something I cannot say for the other places Ive trained. You will be pushed to (and sometimes past) your limit and you will come out healthier than when you came in.Ever since Ive started training with Denny, I have made new friends, my game shot through the roof, and Im enjoying jiu-jitsu more than Ive ever had before. It doesnt get any better than this.

I walked into 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu SF about 2 years ago and was welcomed like family. Denny is an exceptional teacher with a long history of success in the competition world. He is very detailed and patient with his students and is filled with years of experience. The new location is set up well with onsite showers and mats wall to wall. I recommend 10th Planet Jiu JItsu SF to everyone I talk to. 10PFL!!
