Teachers arent really very responsible. Grades are easy if you do your work/homework. A school is a school. theres always gonna be bad parts about it, but there are good parts too.

Rms is a great place, and I know this since I am actually a student there. As a totally normal person at this school, I give it a 5/5 because of its community, teatchers, and its I-pads. Yes it has I-pads for education reasons, such as google docs, google classrooms, apple classrooms, etc... It gives students here so much opertunity. So if you have a kid that wants to enroll here, enroll him here.

I’m a new student at rms I came January 8 2018, i really don’t like how the teachers don’t tell you , what there rules are , how to turn in your homework and assignments. They didn’t tell me anything!, so at my old middle school, I came from mlk middle school, (THAT WAS THE BEST SCHOOL EVER) we turn in our homework , Not wrinkly not damage,. So I got homework in my science class and I did it , so since my teacher didn’t tell me When do they want me to turn in my homework so I turned it 1 Day late I got a D on my homework( grade for my homework) but at my old school (mlk middle school ) we had an extra day to turn in are homework. So I did what old my school said what we can do. Overall the school is alright I’m still getting used to rms.

HORRIBLE school. By far the worst 3 years of my life. I attended RMS from 6-8th grade and I graduated in 2016 so im fresh out of there. 6th grade was stressful because it was my first year of middle school. I enjoyed MOST of my classes. I say most because my math/science teacher was terrible. She would give super hard homework (2-3 hours a night) then she wouldnt give you credit for the work just because you forgot to show work on one math problem or if you forgot to write your name. It was always something silly. Not to mention she was always talking about her cat. That class was the only bad thing about 6th grade. Now moving onto 7th grade. I had some of my favorite teachers to this day in 7th grade. Unfortunately my two favorite teachers have now left the school. Actually, the summer of 2015 was when things got bad. The school got a new principal, new vice principal, and around 5-6 new teachers. Lets just move onto 8th grade, since 7th grade went pretty smooth. I had a unique experience from everyone else at the school. I only attended school at RMS for the first semester. After that I attended home and hospital due to illness. Heres where things went very very wrong. You see, when you attend home and hospital schooling a teacher from the district comes to your house to teach you until youre well enough to attend regular school again. Although I didnt attend school at RMS I was still enrolled there. Since I was enrolled there I was still communicating with my principal and teachers I was assigned to when I attended during the first semester since they had to give me work to complete and send to them so it could be graded. The teachers were horrible at communicating, but that wasnt the worst of it. The worst thing out of this whole situation was the principal. He went as far as to search my social media pages to see what I was doing outside of my home and hospital, then blaming me for not having work turned in when he saw I was doing outside activities. Theres a few things wrong with this accusation. The first thing being, I wasnt getting work turned in because the teachers werent responding to my emails whenever I asked for work. Me, my parents , and my home and hospital teacher all tried to contact my teachers and counselor multiple times to get my work but there was barely ever a response. Because of this he had no right to blame ME for not getting work done. Not to mention he had no business in what i was doing outside of school. This school may seem fine on the tours because they do a real good job at flaunting. I remember being so excited to start just to be let down. This school is also horrible at dealing with anything out of the ordinary. As we approach the end of this review whoever is reading this is probably thinking typical biased kid, hating her school and her teachers. Well let me tell you this: my younger sister is an incoming 6th grader and my own PARENTS were relieved when she got her first choice instead of RMS (her elementary schools feeder school). Take that into account :) I hope this review helped someone, and remember, dont be fooled by the welcoming tours or the principals professional appearance.

The teachers were fun, pretty well trained, and planned their lessons ahead of time and almost none of the time the lesson plans changed! Plus, the after school program, Beacon, is really good! AACE tutoring at lunch or after school (as part of Beacon) helps students who are struggling with any subject, Beacon lets students choose their own activities for the day just like in college where people choose their own courses, so it kinda prepares them for college. 8th Grade Teen Center, ran by 2 awesome people, is simply amazing, because you can either stay in Teen Center and chill with friends, make crafts, help with a cooking project, or virtually anything that you want to do/make, or stick with the regular Beacon program along with the 6th and 7th graders. The Student Government, with the help of Teen Center, helps function the school efficiently to make dances a once-in-a-lifetime event. And dances in this term does not translate directly to something like senior or junior prom, but basically a big party that everyone is invited to. Overall, RMS is my place for perfect. Pretty good after school activities , as well as pretty good academics. :)
