I have done courses ASA 101- 104 at SF sailing co and would highly recommend to anyone willing to learn sailing. They are very organized and where able to work with my schedule. Since I finished the courses, I have been taking out their sailboats on my own and never had any mechanical problems. I feel safe renting their sailboats. Eddie, Jeff, Dave and Emily are always available to answer questions and are always very pleasant.

Incredibly unprofessional personnel. The boats were old and in poor shape, including some broken components. The staff was so bad, that if you are hoping for an uneventful sailing day in the Bay, you should look somewhere else.Came here once, wont be back.

I first experienced SFSC when I bought a Living Social deal for Basic Keel Boat 1. I was instantly hooked. The teachers are awesome and so is the owner Eric.By the end of BK 1 I instantly bought BK 2 and I now feel extremely confident on the water. People say that San Francisco Bay is the hardest place to sail, but in my limited time learning I already feel prepared. Went ahead and bought Basic Coastal Cruising so that I can charter out a boat soon.Best part is the social aspect. At the end of the two day weekend of learning/sailing, theres a mini party with snacks and beer. I met some really neat people doing this and I highly recommend it. Dont wait if youve always wanted to try sailing.

Awful experience. At first, I mistook the instructor for a homeless person... Later during the class, I concluded that he must have been either hangover, or actually under the influence. He was rude, and even belligerent at times. If you are the manger of this company, and would like to continue in business, I suggest you carefully review your personnel.

I recently completed by ASA101 basic keelboat with the San Francisco Sailing Co and I found it to be a great experience. The instructors a very friendly, experienced and have great patience for new learners. The equipment was in great condition and course was well organised. I feel very good about the quality of instruction I got and skills which were covered. The school is very conveniently located as is the dock. I even celebrated finishing passing the course by having a beer with my instructor (shoutout to Jeff!).I did my course over two consecutive weekends and was provided everything I needed to pass the course. I will be going back for my ASA103 and 104 over the coming months. Highly recommend this sailing school.

I had a great experience with them. I only travel to the coast once a year over Labor Day Weekend. My previous sailing school could not accommodate my schedule this year. Emily was very accommodating to schedule a three day class for me with very short notice. She was very friendly and responded promptly to my comunications. I ended up being the only student in the class, so essentially I got a three day private lesson. Ron, the instructor, was very knowledgeable and experienced. Since I had some experience already, he taylored the lessens around my needs. Ron was very patient with my blunders and all of my many questions. His instruction was thorough and I improved my sailing skills greatly. I was able to pass off my keelboat 1 & 2 certification. Next year I’ll go for my cruising and bareboat certifications.
