I have been going to Sam Ash for about 2 years. I like it that the staff are musicians and are there to help. For instance, Brian helped me with guitar pedals for over an hour yesterday helping me with subtle nuances only another guitarist would be able to explain.Ive also used Mark, a guitar tech, to get my guitar back in shape, and boy, did he ever. The next time I played with my band, the other guys heard it right from the start.This is NOT a big box music store, its a group of professionals who want to help and make it happen.

Very knowledgeable and accommodating with my 13 yr old asking all type of questions. Went in for reeds and left with a pleasurable experience. The gentleman showed us a gorgeous custom alto sax, which was absolutely stunning. Anyways, guy was cool, knew what he was talking about. Thanks. Well be back.

I had my Martin set up by Mark. It was in need of quite a bit of work and he did a great job. He was knowledgeable as well as friendly. Overall great guy. Ive been there more than a few times for various reasons and the staff is nothing short of great.

Even with an online order I received a call to further assist with an item that was limited in stock and felt taken care of. Real people that care. I bought a beginner Yamaha guitar today for my son. Been in the the store several times before talking with different guys because I wasnt really sure what to get and I didnt want to rush. Every time I went EVERYONE was extremely friendly and informational. Great place and I highly recommend.

I picked up Schumanns Op. 82 Forest Scenes for $3.99 talk about a bargain! Other than that, the layout wasnt circular like many other Sam ashes, which is great since it partitions the noise better. I wasnt blown away by the inventory, but the staff was really sweet to me.

At Sam Ash Grant helped me pick out a killer set of DW Workshop Designer Series Drums In Satin Black. Also saw the Drum Workshop 6.5x14 Design Series Black Nickel Over Brass Snare. I used to shop here regularly before the pandemic and left because of two employees (Jeff and Brandon) who seemed more focused on a commission than customer service. I thought I would give Sam Ash another try. I walked in around 1:00 on a Sunday, empty handed, looking for a bass amp. No one said hello as I walked in and I shopped for about 15 minutes. Not once did any employee acknowledge me being in the store. Two other people walked in and both were greeted and helped. The second people that walked in were a mother and son looking for a bass and amp for a beginner. They stood directly in front of me and the employee still didnt even glance my way. As I was walking out one of the employees finally said how are you doing,man. I will give everyone a second chance and this was their second chance. I hoped that things would change but obviously they hadnt. If you dont care how you are treated and just want to walk in and out then this might be your place. I personally want an overall great experience and this doesnt happen here, at least for me. I have been shopping at Music-Go- Round and they are awesome. Check them out and stay away from Sam Ash.

Always a pleasure visiting the Sam Ash Sarasota location. Needed a few adjustments on my LTD guitar and a fresh set up. Got me all squared away within 15 minutes of walking in the door. Not only did he explain everything he did to my guitar in detail, I also learned a thing or two. So once again. High five to all the staff. Y’all are awesome. 🤘🏻

The employees are great and helpful, but i will not be coming back to this place ..prices on all their stuff is set in stone, even with the used gear. i’ve gotten better deals at guitar center on new items then used gear here. i’ll take my business to guitar center for better deals all day

I had a bowed out neck on my Fender T-Bucket Acoustic/Electric and needed it fixed pretty quick - within 5 minutes Jeffery took a look at it and knew my urgency to get it back. He adjusted the neck - put a new set of strings on it and polished up the frets in less than 30 minutes. I will be shopping for all my musical gear at this Sam Ash store from here on. Staff was not very knowledgeable at all. Also not the most courteous. I asked for a price on maintenance on a floating trem the guy said he didnt know I had to ask the guy who does the maintenance. I told the guy guy what bridge I had and he told me he didnt know what it was so I explained it in layman terms and he somewhat understood. I then asked if they had a stand for my guitar. I told him I have a xiphos which has a distinct body. He was flabbergasted then proceeded to ask me if it was a v or an explorer shape. He had to look it up. Trash place. Only go there if you need strings or picks on the fly. Overpriced stuff being sold by under qualified people

Here in Sarasota I have a Guitar Center 5 minutes away and a Sam Ash 20 minutes away. Every time Im in Guitar Center is chaos. For years theyve been under staffed.Its certainly worth the time to go to Sam Ash and get good service. Just yesterday I came in for a gig bag for my bass and within seconds someone was there to help me find the right bag.....and checked to see if there was a discount on the item (which there was).Good work Sam Ash Sarasota.

We recently decided our Kurzweil keyboard was just too difficult to transport and we wanted something with speakers. We searched several local dealers and Sam Ash gave us the best deal. They had everything we needed in stock and the transaction was very quick. I highly recommend them and especially, Bryan, who went out of his way to make certain we had everything we needed.

I had a great visit to the store this past Saturday. Noah helped me out and really knows his Pro Audio! DJ and lighting questions were a breeze for him as well! This store has always been hard to find things without help and I recommend you work with him on your next visit.

This is a chain store with excellent service, similar to what you would find in a mom and pops store... I was fortunate to be helped by Jeff who went to great lengths to demonstrate the guitar, answering every single silly question I was able to think of :-)Here is my positive recommendation for both the store and the great Jeffrey Stoddard.

Employees were really nice and willing to help, and they have a pretty great range of prices on their guitars. I havent bought one yet but Im thinking about getting a bass from here sometime soon.

Last week I called into the store with an emergency. I was in the middle of an important video shoot and my audio recorder went haywire. I had to get a new audio recorder but the model I was using was no longer available and I was really worried about buying something new and figuring out how to use it on the fly under pressure. Barry Songer answered my call, immediately understood what I was asking, and when I arrived at the store he not only had the unit set aside for me but had personally gone on the web and found and printed quickstart instructions that would allow me to very quickly get the audio unit up and running so I could get back to my video shoot in record time. Barry saved my rear end and probably saved my production company a massive amount of future business with a very important client. I havent experienced that kind of thoughtful, proactive customer service from anyone in years. If I lived anywhere near Sarasota these guys would have my business for life. Hugely appreciate the professionalism and care!

Above and beyond in customer service - I was lucky enough to have one of the tech working there (a sound man) tutor me on the use of a complicated 12-channel passive mixer I was considering buying. He spent a good 15 minutes or more with me.

Ive been going to Sam Ash for a while now because the customer service is much better than the other similar store. However, employees have gotten much more aggressive over the last year (one in particular). I was not left alone for even 30 seconds despite me saying multiple times I was fine. I understand I spend money and they work on commission, but if you expect me to buy something then make yourself known and leave me alone. You dont have to badger.

I appreciated the care and interest that the employee showed. I was looking for a particular amp, which they did not have, so he showed me some alternatives, one of which caught my eye. The purchase was easy and smooth. I had a way better experience than I had the last time I tried this (at Guitar Center).

I would definitely give my visit to Sam Ash a six star rating if it were available. I brought my cello to Sam Ash Sarasota to have my new cello strings installed. Blair in the band/orchestra department installed my new strings on my cello perfectly. She tuned my new cello strings to perfect open string notes. She then rosined my bow for me so I could play my cello with its new strings. My cello is definitely at its very best because of this.

The expiernce was amazing. I came into to purchase two acoustic guitar. One for myself and one for my 9 year old daughter who accompanied me. the gentleman who sold us are guitars was very knowledgeable clearly a muscian himself the way he engaged my daughter really was amazing seeing her eyes lite up when she held a couple guitars. we ended up going for there house brand carlo robelli as my daugther is just starting out and i am starting a new. needless to say but we will defnitley be returning to sam ash. I jsut found out theres is a guitar center in my area and im not even mad i didnt look at the competitors the service at sam ash was so great!!!

Walked in and they had the model Taylor guitar Id been looking at for a long time- except this one had cosmetic features others had been lacking. Jeffrey was cordial and helpful, answering all my questions and showing me features of the new Fender amp I also purchased. Very helpful people. I was going to buy ukulele the employee talked into a small guitar and Im happy with that decision. Everything was perfect until check out. I had a $50 gift card and it took us 33 minutes to check out. That kind of ruined the experience since I had a person with me which made me feel embarrassed that he had to wait sooo long. I kept asking for a handwritten receipt which they finally did! Other than that this place is perfect

This is a topnotch company to do business with, eilther in their store (I used the Sarasota location) or online shopping. I mentioned earlier that I had not received one of the items I had ordered. Turns out I missed a phone message explaining that the item that I ordered online had been delivered to the store. They shipped it out to me and it arrived in a day, along with another item that they were able to take over the phone and include in my shipment. Truly great service. We started by shopping for a guitar for our teen to use in his guitar class.They were so helpful and so nice we went back to purchase a keyboard and keyboard stand as well. We have gone back for more items since then and we chose Sam Ash for all musical instruments needs.

Not sure I will ever shop here again. Woman in the brass section was very friendly and helpful. Sales manager was a total jerk to another customer and when that customer left the sales manager said doesnt matter he wasnt going to buy anything anyway. You can never judge what a customer can afford simply by looking at them.Me and my money will go elsewhere.

That all-consuming need for a new guitar hit hard. When I walked into the Sarasota (FL) store I told Grant what I was looking for. He set me up with several guitars well below what I was afraid Id have to spend. I settled on a terrific mid-range instrument that I am VERY happy with. Grant was interested in what would make me happy as a customer, not in making a sale 2-4x larger. Ive been to the other guys stores many times. I am a Sam Ash Customer until they pry my guitar out of my cold, dead hands!

The people at Sam Ash in the Stringing Department were wonderfully helpful, going way beyond to assist a customer. They are truly a gift to your business. I believe one was named Ron. He and a department buddy restrung a broken string on my bowed psaltery with great patience and genuine care and interest.
