Great company. Their support is top-notch and courses are frequently updated to address certain changes. The all-access subscription is a bargain since there are so many courses and content. I think CodaKid beats other competitions like Tynker and code.org by a landslide. Overall CodaKid is a great platform for aspiring coders of all ages looking to create games and most importantly have lots of fun while doing it.

My daughter took their MindCraft modding class and really enjoyed it. We had several technical issues on our end, but the staff and CodaKid were very responsive and helpful. I really appreciated the session notes and homework to keep me up in what she was doing. My hope is to get her started on some coding basics in a game she really enjoys and the 1st module course definitely got her started. There isnt many classes offered for teenagers her age. I feel really fortunate we found CodaKid. I hope my daughter is up for it next summer.

One of best platform for kids to learn programming skills. Every lesson is thoroughly explained. The customer support is above all appraisal as they are eager to resolve any coding puzzle or issue - I wouldnt be able to help my child with different programming languages the way they did it. New courses are added on a regular basis. My child loved every single course and he is looking forward to more advanced courses to be added to the platform. Its highly recommended!

Codakid dominates the market on at least 2 fronts:1. Course offerings: the variety and quality of courses available is great! Theyre always adding new modules and the materials are terrifically designed. Very easy and informative.2. Customer support: our experience with codakid support team has been AMAZING. From the course mentors/coaches, to technical support, to general account support has been beyond my expectations. These people truly care. With such competitive pricing they offer support thats unlike any other vendor.

My son is always excited for his next private lesson! The instructor is kind, thoughtful and professional, working on an agenda yes, but always keeping in mind where my son is at in understanding and engagement. I also really appreciate how at the end of every session, we get notes emailed to us on what he did and what he can work on! The company has always been incredibly receptive to requests I have made or when a concern has popped up. I am glad I chose CodaKid!

CodaKid operate some of the best online teaching I have come across. The lessons are very engaging for kids as they are built around modifying or developing games that they like to play. Exercises with graphics packages combine coding with creativity. Very quick and positive responses are given to any query or glitch in code. My son has developed a working knowledge of JAVA, Python and C# in his first year. It has become a bit too addictive for him, but that is not the fault of CodaKid. It certainly beats other forms of screen time.

My kid, who is only 8 years old, kept talking about creating mods in Minecraft. I knew this was a tall order because Java is not an easy language to learn ( I myself tried but failed). Also, most programming languages for kids are visual (e.g. Scratch) so it was with some trepidation that I enrolled him on a Coda Kids course which uses pure code (ie text) to teach children to code. I was amazed by my kids tenacity in writing out the code in the Eclipse window. He was motivated by his desire to create mods, of course, but also by the entertaining videos and very clear instructions with tangible results. The presenter adopts just the right tone (playful but taking things one step at a time). Furthermore, Coda Kids have set up a coding environment that enables children to get straight to the essentials rather than bogging them down in endless coding instructions. Just a couple of days ago, my son proclaimed: Ive written my first two lines of code ! A triumph for him. Finally, you know what, I think Ill use Coda Kids to brush up on my own coding skills and maybe learn Java one day. Well worth it - kudos to Coda Kids.

I tried to learn to code minecraft in java so I could help my grandson who loves minecraft. It took me a few weeks to learn how to use eclipse to build a minecraft command block chain. I felt like I was making progress but the i lost touch with my grandson for a while with Covid and everything. I didnt practice eclipse for about 6 months. When I got back to it I couldnt get it to work. I dont know what to do. I feel lost. I dont want to start over. The learning curve was extremely steep. Now I cant get it to work. It is extremely difficult. I am 65 so I am not a tech guru but I would really like to learn how to make the flaming ax, etc. so I can teach my grandson. Maybe a private lesson would help. Very pleased with this company! Once COVID hit, I was looking for a one-on-one coding class that would fit into my sons hybrid schedule, and found CodaKid. The staff at CodaKid found a teacher who could meet at a time that worked with our schedule. They are also very quick to respond and good at answering questions. My son enjoys the instruction, is always prepared for class and has made several Roblox games since he started with them. In addition, the instructor emails me Session Notes, which I appreciate. From 1 to 5 we give you 100!!! Where do we start? Codakid teaches highly marketable skills applicable in the real-world. Its extremely engaging with very creative and funny videos. Its hands-on. It is exquisitely designed: The colors, the background, the shapes. Its battles are wholesome, like throwing water balloons at robots, not gory or violent. We LOVE Andy, always upbeat, funny, with a happy smile and very clear English pronunciation. There are lots of different programs to learn. VERY empowering for kids. Fast progress. Self pace. New content periodically. Amazing responsive support. My son just keeps asking: Can I do Codakid now? He is now customizing Minecraft to recreate scenes from his favorite book, Knights of Arrethtrae, and creating his own Python multi-player game to play with his buddies. We like Codakid so much, we wished the courses went all the way up to certification. We cant thank you enough for such a fabulous program. We absolutely LOVE Codakid!!!

I had to uninstall and reinstall a few times, advising my virus software to ignore the program and allow it to install. I didnt ask for help with this tbh, but Im pretty sure they would have helped. I imagine in a few months he might once again ask me to renew the subscription so he can learn more, and if/when that happens, I will happily renew the subscription.Whenever we had any issues, usually due to my own lack of computer science knowledge, we sent a message and usually received a response in the same day. Signed my daughter up for a course but the installer to set up the programming environment did not work and was unusable. Some hassle getting technical support; it took two days to get a response initially - then some delay on my part - and after another email a three day wait for a response. I gave up at that point and cancelled the account. So the delay was not entirely on them, but the installer should have worked (I use windows 10, nothing exotic, and I could see for sure that the installer simply did not contain all the necassary files) and support was not as fast as I would expect.I would not right them off - and might consider trying them again - but the experience was not great. These guys offer tutoring and video tutorials to teach kids (or anyone) how to get started coding using Roblox Studio and other scripting languages. If your kid plays Roblox or Minecraft and expresses interest in building their own game, mods or maps then I would recommend to let them try CodaKid.Sometimes during tutorials we found that our version of Roblox Studio was more update than the video teachers version (from when they shot the video) and we had to research ourselves how to get something done or ask one of the helpers and await their response. They usually got back the next day with a helpful message. With many kids attending online classes right now, the potential downside is they may not want to learn at the computer for any longer than they already have to.
