I am the Caterer for Hot Lunch @ Mission Montessori. Why did we partner together for lunch? It is very Simple! Our Mission and Values align! We both care about our customers and what they consume whether math, science, history or food. We care that we teach consciousness, respect and concern for others and the environment. Everyone can make a difference no matter how small or big you are. It is back to basics in learning as well as eating. All Organic, Nitrate Free, Pastured, Grass Fed, the way we used to farm, before Industrial Food. Options for dietary concern of Gluten Free, Vegetarian, Vegan and those who love it all. We both compost and recycle and reuse. I love all of the Teachers and staff - their love and support for the students is heartfelt and the students just make me tear up every time they say they loved their lunch. Im so proud to be part of the Mission Montessori Mission and Vision. - Chef Jennifer with Witnessing Nature In Food

This is a wonderful Charter School! It is a very calm and peaceful environment unlike many other traditional schools. The children do a lot of work outdoors, grow organic foods in the gardens, travel the world, speak at the UN. They arent just doing sheet after sheet like a traditional school. They learn math, science and language with hands on materials. The administration and teachers care so much about the children and making the world a better place through education. It starts with the children and this school understands that. This school will help shape your children into independent, creative and critical thinkers that will grow to make the world a better place.

I have been an employee at this school for 6 years, and it is my home away from home. All of the staff have become like extended family to me. They are such an amazing, diverse passionate group of people. My son has been attending since he was 4 months old, and is almost 3 now. Every day, including the weekends, he wakes up and asks to go to school. Its incredible! The positivity, courtesy, and respect he receives from his teachers really shines through at home. My son has truly thrived at Mission, and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

My son has been with MM since the toddler program and will be entering 1st grade this year. The teachers and admin are so enthusiastic, caring and knowledgeable. I love how the teachers use different materials and even the outdoors as an opportunity for learning. I highly recommend this nurturing school as a wonderful place for your children to grow and learn.

Our daughter is about to complete 8th grade with Mission Montessori and has been with them since first grade our son started in kindergarten and is about to enter seventh grade. Our daughter had very limited self-confidence or self-esteem when she started there and all I hear from people now is how she has become a very grounded confident young lady. Mission Montessori has started a sports program that has been an added benefit for our son. When I talk about my kids experiences at their school Im often asked if it is a private school and I have to explain that it is a public charter school. I am proud of the education in the foundation that our kids havent been given for their future due to Mission Montessori.

Mission Montessori is a wonderful, loving, caring, and highly academic school. All 3 of our children started in preschool and have continued at Mission Montessori. We have 2 girls and 1 boy, each child has a unique personality, and different needs and strengths. My oldest is in 6th grade now and is thriving! My younger children are in 3rd grade and 1st grade, sharing the same classroom, and doing beautifully. I love the multi-age classroom (1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders are together) and the fact that the children learn at their own pace. Many people have a misconception that children in a Montessori school wander around all day. I can assure you, that is not the case. There is a purpose to everything the children do, even though many times the children (and even the parents) are unaware. The children in 1st-3rd grades have workplans for the entire week and that provides the structure. 2nd and 3rd graders complete their own workplans (of course the teachers check them) and 1st graders start creating their own workplans mid-year after they have learned the skill. Each day children complete the work assigned for that day, but the children choose the ORDER in which they do their work. If they finish their work for a day, they may either choose a cultural work or get ahead by completing work assigned later in the week. The childrenwork independently but may quietly ask for help from other children or from the teachers. The work is checked and the children must correct any work that is missed. Each childs workplan is unique, the work is tailored to each child. So there is a balance of structure and independence, but it is customized for each child. Its truly amazing! In addition to the classroom work, the children enjoy specials each day: Art, PE, Gardening, Sustainable Systems, Music, and Spanish. There are goats, chickens, tortoises, bunnies, and a plethora of plants and the children take care of all of them (feed the animals, plant, harvest, weed, change the water, etc.) The children also have the opportunity to do research projects both in the classroom and at home. This week, we finished the childrens class presentations. Each child researched and prepared a report and visual aid on a topic. 3rd graders selected a country, 2nd graders a monument, and 1st graders an animal. It was fantastic to watch my 1st grade son present to the class and answer questions about his animal. My 3rd grader is a pro by now because she has done it so many times, but she loved sharing her information as well. This is our 8th year at Mission Montessori and all of my children are doing exceptionally well in this nurturing, yet academically challenging, environment. The teachers are wonderful, dedicated, and highly skilled. I highly recommend this school!
