My daughter has been at Grayhawk Elementary for 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. We really like this school. Principal Pratt is actively involved - directing drop-off traffic in the morning, after school activities, etc. Our daughter has excelled at Grayhawk and we (partly) attribute that to the welcoming environment of the school. We had an opportunity to move her to another school, but decided to keep her at our locally-assigned school. Recommended!BTW - The other lady who previously reviewed Grayhawk and gave only 1 star seems to give almost everywhere 1 star reviews (click on her profile to see this).

I don’t think anyone had a worse experience than what my daughter and our family went through with Grayhawk elementary and the 2nd grade teacher Ms. Marchisotto. We moved from another state to Arizona and I was very happy that Grayhawk was the elementary assigned to our address. I had to withdraw my daughter from her school a month into the school year, and enrolled her in Grayhawk. On the first day Ms. Marchisotto was not warm or welcoming at all but I thought she is a good and strict teacher and that’s why she is not showing much warmth. I then bought all the school supply and everything needed for my daughter and she was sent to school the next day with so much joy and hope with her new school and teacher. I picked up my daughter that day and she was all in tears, when I asked about her day she said that she was ignored the whole day by the teacher, was not given any opportunity, and were told that she is not good enough for her class. I was so mad and angry that had no idea what to do or where to go. Then I went to Ms. Marchisotto the next day and she showed the exact same attitude and behavior towards me as well. The way she talked to me was so insulting and rude that I do not know how to express it here. She clearly told me that my daughter is not good for her class and she is placed in 2nd grade by mistake and must repeat 1st grade. Can you even imagine being told such a thing by your child’s teacher?I have to mention that my daughter was in the top 10% of her class(honer student) in her previous school. I went home and searched for other schools in our neighborhood. I fortunately was able to find Pinnacle Peak elementary and gladly was able to enroll her there. I did not wait another day to withdraw her from that hell. Marchisotto is the meanest, rudest, most disrespectful, most cold-hearted teacher, and a wrong person I have ever met in my life. I had to work on my child for 2 weeks to convince her she is good and she is capable of being in 2nd grade. After enrolling my daughter in Pinnacle Peak I went straight to the Principal of Grayhawk and before that I emailed Marchisotto, told here my daughter will no longer be in her class, and asked for the school supply back after 1 day and a half that my daughter was in her class. She never replied to my emails and then I was forced to go through the front desk to get the supply back. I explained everything to the principal and he showed so much regret and told me he will follow up with me. Unfortunately Marchisotto is the head of the teachers in Grayhawk (unbelievable right?). The next day I showed up and got the supplies back in a trash bag, all notebooks, folders, and papers were torn and folded. All the pens and pencils were missing and 4 were broken. Nothing was complete and everything was damaged only after a day I gave everything to her. I don’t know what else can one do to disrespect another person. I took several pictures of the supplies and send them to the principal, again he called several times and apologized and promised me that he will monitor and fix the situation. I wanted to go to the board of education but I was so busy with move and other things that I didn’t. Parents I have a request, PLEASE be careful, tell your friends about Marchisotto and stay away from here. She will crush you child’s self-esteem and confidence and disrespect them every minute of every day. Please please don’t go to Grayhawk and do some research before enrolling your kids. I wish I read the reviews about Grayhawk before going there but it was too late and this horrible person hurt my child emotionally. I cannot say enough about this nightmare we went through but I thought I can alert other parents to protect their children from this lady.
