I just completed my PhD at Northcentral University. For the most part it is an excellent school. While I did have difficulty with one professor, the issue was resolved quickly and professionally. As an individual who worked full time while getting my degree, I love the fact that I could follow my own schedule to meet required deadlines. The professors were very helpful, and I did not have long periods to wait for answers to any questions I had regarding assignments. Overall, my experience was good, and I would recommend the school to other individuals seeking a quality education.

They are too high pressure trying to sell their school. In one day, I received multiple calls and emails from different people. It was non- stop and I had to block them. I had received emails and calls before this. Made me wonder what was going on- what school does that?

Im close to completing the third class towards my Doctorate of Business Administration and the folks at NCU have been responsive and helpful. Ive interacted with reps with the IT helpdesk, library, academic success center, in enrollment and financial aid, and professors, advisors, and administrators. All good experiences, even changing my DBA specialization. The course work is challenging and the professors provide constructive feedback. I have access to ample on-line publications, tools, and learning sessions and services to help along the way. I will certainly post if things change, but Im totally satisfied at this point.

Incredibly unhelpful. I inquired via email about transfer credit & alternative credit is accepted. It’s literally stated in NCU’s current catalog that they do - I just wanted to double check so that when I apply to transfer to NCU there wouldn’t be any surprises.. well a representative got back to me but all they said was the opposite of what they’re catalog says.. then I sent an email to the office of the provost.. no one has gotten back to me.. it’s been weeks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL.

There is too much to talk about so Ill keep it short. The communication here is horrible. I received quite a bit of miscommunication from the start but I said I would give it a chance. My second course was delayed due to one of my instructors not grading my assignment on time. I gave another pass. However, its now the day of the next course I havent been able to get in. Ive reached out to my advisor with no success. Then to make matters worse I received emails from my advisor saying that I was absent a total of 13 days when I was not even registered in a course at that time. There is a lot of run around here. I would not recommend this university. In fact, Im in the process of looking for another one. I usually dont leave negative comments but I have to make sure that other prospects are aware before they choose this university. Turn back now! Lastly, financial aid was never released so Im not even sure if I will have to pay anything out of pocket. Ive been told I wont but with the miscommunication Im not sure what to believe honestly.

I have a positive and healthy experience with NCU, I did what need to be done so as I did follow the instructions the professors have given... step by step and I got all my assignments ready and well done with only A and A- as my grade. To be successful you need to be obedient, resourceful, compliant, HONEST, disciplined, determined, have a positive outlook in life, a good perspective and healthy values in life. I came from a poor country and family, and doing work was never a hindrance for me to be successful. So for those readers who review negative feed backs will produce nothing. Whatever school you are in if you have a negative perspective and issues in your self etc. you WILL NEVER be make it unless you change the way you think and how you value life. To have a degree is because its the school... NO!...but because you worked hard for it.... get the good stuff dont ever relay on what people say... do things what is good for you and your future.

Please be aware if you want to enroll at Northcentral University. They will charge you for classes even if you dont enroll in them or take them. I am stuck paying $2000 for a class I never took, or they threatened to turn it into my credit. Had I known this ahead of time I would not have taken classes there.

I’m 3 classes from completing my MBA. The academic side has been good; the other services not great. On the positive side, responsive professors and useful content. I honestly think if you communicate regularly and do the work it’s a good program. They have some problems on the support side, particularly with Financial Aid. The advising staff is friendly and wants to help, but when answers are needed they seem to have to search for help to get them (possibly unavailable or over-assigned supervisors). I’ve had several glitches along the way with my Financial Aid where steps in the process were supposed to happen automatically and didn’t. The fix apparently was a ticket submission, then waiting for another department to complete an action. This has resulted in significant delays that are well past the time period quoted by the university.**Editing a few months later: my issue was finally fixed but it took an inordinate amount of time. I still think if you are depending on financial aid be wary, but if you are paying out of pocket or similar you will likely have a good experience. I do enjoy the academics and even the professors with whom I didn’t connect were professional.

The dissertation portion of the doctorate program was extremely difficult, constantly changing and had many inadequately prepared professors. I was in contact with an advisor, set up 2 phone call appointments, 11:00 a.m. east coast...I have checked over and over, my e-mail to be sure I gave correct information but still no contact. I am reading good reviews and would like to complete my masters here as the school that I am attending has gone down the toilet since I completed my bachelors with them in 2013. If first impressions are 98% of an individuals opinion of a person or place I should give up at this point. I have even called and chatted with other individuals (this aside from the scheduled appointments) and the advisor was contacted and she said that she would call me, is she on case management overload??? Should I start shopping around again?

NCUs doctoral program is both rigorous and challenging. The program is best for students who can work independently. Students incapable or unwilling to take control of their own learning will experience difficulty at this university. Those who stick with it will definitely grow as individuals and appreciate the journey.

I was scammed by this school. I was part way through the PhD program and got an instructor who did not follow the syllabus. I couldnt reach anyone, no one responded, and almost everyones voicemail was full. The Dean finally emailed me back and basically told me to deal with it. I had paid them nearly $20,000 and had to drop and did not get my degree. I finally reached an academic advisor who apologized, but could not help. I was scammed by them. I have made numerous attempts to reach out to them to try and rectify it but the school refused to make it good. At least I can share my experience and hopefully stop others from going to this school after I have been scammed.

NCU is the best. I was a 4th yr. Argosy Univ. doctoral study when Argosy closed. No other doctoral program would accept all 4 yrs. of credits. NCU went out of their way to do so for many ex-Argosy students AND the chair gets back to me within a week--unheard of at Argosy. Wish I had gone here from the start. Everyone is really nice, very helpful, & they make the process easy. Thank you NCU staff. As stated, youre the best!

If there were a zero Id give it. This is a FOR PROFIT University, and that is all they care about! They seem to not realize people do online schools because they have jobs, and other responsibilities, and those who can devote a full time schedule to a masters program go to regular universities. the classes demand a full time schedule with all of the subject matter they try to push into 8 weeks. they make it impossible to pass, so you will fail and they will get more money (read the reviews, this is mentioned more than once.)

I had in issue and stayed constant contact With my professor because my computer was locked in the office until Monday. I knew that it was gonna be difficult for me to complete my assignment. I emailed her many times and she stated that she understood I stayed up all night trying to get my assignment in and I got my assignment in on July 4th I didnt spend any time with my family or Friends I emailed her and told her that my assignment with ready. She graded my assignment but because my assignment was 3 days late she gave me an F.... very upset. If she was going to fail me on that assignment she have said something.

Northcentral University is a good school and I achieve what I was looking for, but they need to fire these bad professors and staffs. Most of the assignments were not clear. I am also not a fan of hard grading professors because they are not smart and do not help you to be successful in school. Sometimes this school refuse to let me have another professor. Plus, this school need to treat this school like a school, not a business. I would not recommended this because of that. I am so glad I got my college degree and have not contacted and return to this school.

I have recently enrolled after graduating from ITT Technical institute. There are not many schools that take credits from them and that’s why they are closed down. I was in the last class to graduate in 2016. NCU promised me a chrome book laptop for class if just aced the first course. Well guess what , after failing one major grade and taking my first course twice in Computer Science Project Managment a field that I have been in for 20 years I finally decided to change my major to education. I past my first class in Education with focus on Coaching and ask about my laptop and they start to making excuses about a $400 . Mind you I decided to take out a grad plus loan of $13,000 and I did. Let me tell you what they do. They see the extra loan that you take out to get caught up in life or purchases things you need like a computer etc and they zap your funding by falling you on purpose so that you can not move forward and they take your funding and can’t give you an accurate statement on the fees that they zapp where most local schools don’t change you for class retakes. This school charges you thousands of dollars and now I see all the class actions after I have taken 3 credits. I’m thinking about transferring to West Governors University which is much less expensive and I know NCU is going to hit me with thousands of dollars of fees. They say anything to get you in and they take your loans and suck them up to where you can not afford to finish. I’m going to the Better Business Burea and Board of Education as out they practices ASAP. I have a background in working for a university in higher education and these people work together and have class actions against them all day until they clean up their financial aid practices.

This school really sucks.(1) It took NCU one whole month to send my financial funds. I am currently still waiting for my financial funds.(2) Adviser suck. What is the point for being adviser if your job is to be here for students when they needed you or concern regarding to grades, courses and etc? Adviser will take at least 1 week to respond back to your email. They are no help and it is not worth it. If you are not helpful for students, you should go somewhere and maybe this is not field.(3) NCU automatically open bank account without your consent. Please before you open bank account for student ask them or give you them options to choose because your damn bankmobile charge fees when they take out cash from ATM machine.(4) It is very hard to communicate with professors. I was sick for one week and I even sent email in advanced to let my professor know I wont be able to turn in my assignment but I will do my best to turn in late. Sadly, when I turned in my assignment I received C. My communication to professors and adviser is like talking to a wall.I honestly regret going to this school. My advice for those who are planning to enroll for this coming fall or attending to this school, please do your research on (1) financial aid package-- how long does it take for them reimburse your fund back (2) adviser, make sure your adviser is willing to go above and beyond that expectation. Not someone who is lazy to respond back to your email until 1 week after or someone who want you to be successful.I am extremely disappointed.

Had a horrible class. My father died, my mother diagnosed with cancer 4 days after we buried my father and then my husbands relative passed away then my father in law had a heart attack. This is the message I received from the counselor, . After taking time to think about this. I realized that basically I could not do the assignments because of emotional situations. So I recieved a big fat F. However, I know if a family member is to pass from one of the staff members; counselors, teaching staff, etc. We would have to accept it. However, arent we their boss? We pay them! It is time our voices are heard! This school is so quick to pull our money from lenders but not be will to help is a crisis. I feel bad for those affected by natural disasters. If it doent happen to NCU then there are no situations. The worst part is that I was told that NCU was accredited and then got a email explaining how excited they were to be making changes to their school so they can be accredited school. So what is it NCU?

If you can work through your degree with little to no help from instructors, this school is for you. I had the most difficult time during my doctorates at NCU. The staff either replies late or does not reply to emails. Teachers change 2 to 3 times during one course. The teachers are unavailable to help or give little direction. Advisors are not trained properly to point you in the right direction. It is upsetting. The hardest four years in my life and I have been an online student prior to a degree with NCU. I would think three times before being an NCU student. They promised so much and provided very little..and it only took 80k of student loans.

I dont like giving bad reviews but, in a lot cases its need. This my first online post master school I attached. Let start by saying their recruitment is very strong in the beginning with all the calling snd follow up. But sadly to say after your first class, your importants at a student drops down to almost zone. I must change advisor like every few months, I dont know who I even have now. Because you get this dry email saying your advisor has changed. Thats ok what not ok that I can go the hold two months 8 weeks with hearing anything from anyone. No follow up on classes by email, and to get a live phone call forget it. It would nice to get these things since my last this semester is start off bad, by they change the hold portal and content for get the information for the class and put in the assignment they are use a kind of hyper outlooks, and thats cool. Would been nice to know that a month or few, weeks out. And not the day of class. The professors for my course give me a F because I didnt do a kind of research paper, but the the long into class I couldnt even find my professor name or contact information. To ask about the course. A F is pretty stong for not give any flexibility. Just because the professor didnt have their detail outline on the new portal. It was just bad, when try reach out to two people for help. I got a the short email saying neither one of them could help me and was pass it on to someone elso Mary Patterson. The email had cold written all over it after I pour out my hear on it open up about my disability with school and the last 10 of my class time I been working in the field for my government work trying to do two things at once. If know this school would be so dry or cold. I so would gone to another online school like Penn State, or Papperdine University, Cambridge University, Oxford, all these school have online course and masters to doctoral programs even John Hopkins has one. So its so many options out here in 2017. If be a online school try standout in some way. Good customer service would be nice. But since are paying for these course and take out loans for your future. Its no reason to put your self a bad position financial for school that just dont care about you in the long run.
