The school is okay.... Some of the teachers are good but others just dont seem to care. Sometimes kids curse right in front of them and they dont say anything. Several of the students push the teachers limits just to see how far they will go because of it. Several of the teachers, I will say, are absolutely amazing at teaching. They keep the students interested in learning and do not tolerate misbehavior. Like I said the school is okay....P.S. Mr. Lewin and Ms. Konkel are very chill and down to earth (unless you misbehave).

The DLC is a great place that has amazing hands-on teachers. They have really helped me to enjoy learning about certain topics and have supported me in the things I learn on the side. Unfortunately, the school does nothing to stop the discrimination against LGBT+ students. The student hand book includes a section on bullying that talks about how they will not tolerate sexual, racial, or religious harassment. However, there is nothing on sexuality or gender expression. My friend was recently called a nasty slur because of his sexual orientation and reported it to the office. From what I learned it, it was not dealt with. This is very disappointing to me that no actions were taken against the offending student. But, I did enjoy that when they had their in-school talk on sexual health they mentioned that it applied to everyone, no matter their gender identity or sexual orientation. Over all, I have enjoyed my enrollment at this school and would highly recommend the DLC.

Lol this school sux and if you have to go here then a good tip is to annoy mrs maxwell is rly funnn lolz and also if you want to go on ur phone then go to the lunch room bathrooms.

Ive attended this school for two years and my experience here has been horrible. The 8th science teacher doesnt teach in class he just sits on his phone plays movies and expects the students to know the tests but if the students fail the teacher will call them stupid. The 8th grade math teacher shows us videos about lessons instead of teaching them herself she yells at the students for no reason. The DLC is about the only good program at sunrise middle school. The principal doesnt take care of issues and makes the vice principal do his work, the principal just goes to school to collect his checks and goes on his way. This school is the worst school Ive ever attended, if I was a parent I would not send my child here ever. There A+ rating is bull they should change that to a F.

I go to this school right now, and it is great.

I mean, you know, teachers cussing, students cussing, students doing things they shouldnt be, a grading system based on a teachers favorites. Thats it. Ms konksls cooll though.
