Now and again I have tracked down the material undeniably challenging to comprehend. From the beginning, I thought perhaps this is on the grounds that English is my second language however in the wake of conversing with my cohorts it appears as though I was not alone. The clarification of specific subjects and the assignments were exceptionally difficult to decipher. Despite the fact that I decided to accept that it was made intentionally and its a piece of the interaction. A definitive assignment is to figure out how to learn, so Ill trust the interaction, join the full time and put forth a valiant effort to graduate it by googling, watching YouTube instructional exercises, perusing other material, and recruiting a mentor if necessary.

Sometimes I have found the material very difficult to understand. At first, I thought maybe it’s because English is my second language but after talking to my classmates it seems like I was not the only one. The explanation of certain topics and the tasks were very hard to interpret. Although I chose to believe that it was made purposely and it’s a part of the process. The ultimate task is to learn how to learn, so Ill trust the process, join the full time and do my best to graduate it by googling, watching YouTube tutorials, reading other material, and hiring a tutor if needed.

I decided to transition to software development at the beginning of 2020 and Epicodus was a critical component of this career change. Enrollment at a coding bootcamp fully immersed me in the field and it was my privilege to learn alongside inspiring, dedicated individuals who share a passion for personal growth. Collaboration is the center of the Epicodus pair-programming format and my cohort became a tight-knit group as we spent months debugging, designing, and testing together. They handled the transition to remote learning tremendously. The instructors and career services team do a wonderful job of guiding you through the work while also encouraging independent learning. I built projects Im proud of and came away with so much knowledge. The internship component was a key reason why I chose Epicodus over several other bootcamps, and having a line of practical experience really helped out my resume. Job hunting was still a rough few months afterwards, but I had the tools, support, and time I needed to succeed. After all that work… I’m officially a software engineer! And I hope you’re able to take the same chance for yourself 💕

Epicodus jumpstarted my career change as a nurse turned developer. The school provided a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment and most importantly, an internship and a solid tech networking. Its an awesome program and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a shot at learning how to program!

I did the intro part-time evening program in Seattle. Our instructor was really friendly and helpful and the facilities are nice with giant Mac monitors. Peer programming was fun and is a great way to still be social while learning to code. I didnt think I would enjoy it as much as I did. The more complex the lessons got the more fun it became. I really enjoyed the problem solving and working with other people to find a solution. I am considering the full-time program mostly because I think it could be really fun to be totally immersed just doing coding all day, every day.

Joining Epicodus was the best decision I made while switching my career. At a time I joined them I was 35+ with almost no previous experience in programming. It was hard in the beginning but it was worth it. I met wonderful people there, great teachers and best class mates. I really appreciate all of the friends I made there. We all created together this supportive community with one goal: to be professional programmers one day. And thanks to them, after less than one year from starting this journey, I got my first real job in the industry. I think me working for Microsoft now is the best recommendation for that school.

I had some issues concerning the presentation of information from a complete beginners standpoint. I used the feedback button and made my opinions known, so I wont repeat my ideas. I really liked the structure of the classes and the ample resources available to us. The instructors were very accessible in the discord channel and it was fun to work with people online. I had problems sharing my screen in the beginning and Cathy told me about hooking directly into the ethernet cable instead of using wifi. That did the trick. It was also very hard to see other peoples screens because the print was so tiny. I invested in a 32 smart tv and that solved that problem. By the time I got everything together and was comfortable with everything, the class was over.I had a problem pairing with someone who kept their mic off in order to read the lesson. I had already read the lesson and didnt know what to do with myself. I should have contacted the teacher, instead I left the room with that person without an explanation and joined another group. I apologized to this person, privately after some thinking. That was my own personal problem and had nothing to do with Epicodus. I have learned so much in such a short amount of time, that I am amazed. I learned about the basics of coding, hooking up hardware, communicating online without visual cues from other classmates, as well as new apps that I have never heard of. When I think about the scope of what was accomplished in the Intro class, I give high marks to Epicodus. Thank you for offering this class for $100. I have a much clearer idea of what is involved for the full time classes. I hope I can finish my code reviews and move on to React. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity. Lauralee Green

If you are reading these reviews, you are most likely considering changing your life and starting a stable career. Epicodus is a great choice, it helped me a lot to achieve the goals I had. The teachers were awesome and could always help us, the students were fun to be around and work with for 5 months straight, I made good friends and got a good foundation for programming.Everything Epicodus taught me was applicable at my first job, and the stuff was very helpful in providing guidance for me to get this first job. But, you should be ready to do everything on your own (which is a good thing, because no one helps you in the real world). The goal of the bootcamp to teach you how to google basically. If you think that you’ll pay, hangout for 6 month and will get a job – that’s not the way it goes. You will have to study and work hard, do extra learning on your own besides the curriculum and solve a lot of algorithms. Other than that – I am sure you will love the time at Epicodus.

Epicodus was a great experience for my particular situation. I had been studying front end development on my own for about 5 months when I began attending part-time evening classes at Epicodus. The work was challenging enough to the point where I definitely gained new skills at a much quicker rate than I wouldve otherwise. Pair programming was also a great experience because it taught me to see things from another point of view and how to better work in a team setting. And can we talk about that price tag for the class! So affordable! I would recommend Epicodus part time class to anyone whos looking to jump-start his or her dive into the web development world. There is a whole lot youll have to outside of class to become proficient but the curriculum will definitely get you on track.

Epicodus is a great place to learn how to code and become a developer. Coming from a non traditional developer background, Epicodus gave me the skills and the confidence to land my dream job. The staff, teachers, and fellow students were and still are amazing support system. If you ever thought to yourself, “I want to learn how to code but don’t know where to start”, let Epicodus give you that start. “I would like to become a developer but I am not smart enough”, let Epicodus prove you wrong.

I attended Epicodus in order to start a new career path. I chose Epicodus because the cost was very affordable and because of their use of pair programming. The course work was challenging but the teachings of the growth mindset and learning how to learn enabled me to be successful in the courses and and at my current job. The instructors were very knowledgeable and were always willing to help us. I am very glad I chose this program and highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a development bootcamp.

The price is lot better compared to other boot-camps. Every boot-camp teaches you almost the same stuff. You get an internship here which is not offered by other boot-camps.

I started Epicodus with a goal of learning enough about coding to create opportunities to change my career. Naturally, changing a career means that I need to know enough to get a job doing this. I can say upfront that Epicodus helped me accomplish that goal. I graduated from Epicodus in June of 2019 after having completed an internship and the company with which I did the internship offered me a position within the next few months.I was brand new to coding when I started at Epicodus. I had never worked in the IT industry. The majority of my career I spent in the medical industry. Like other students with no coding experience, I found the subject of programming to be extremely challenging with plenty of days full of confusion. In fact, I had thoughts at multiple points that I wasn’t going to be able to do this. However, I am proof that having the right educational opportunity and support system as Epicodus provided makes it possible.I really enjoyed the learning environment and especially that it was onsite. It’s very helpful to have the support of others around you who are going through the same learning curve and the same challenges. Epicodus structured our program by having us work directly with others in a project-based learning environment and this naturally encouraged the formation of relationships that were important for me to make it through this program. The pair programming was often very helpful because there are people with varying degrees of experience and this enabled those of us with less experience to learn from them. Additionally, I thought it was helpful learning to work in real-life scenarios where we as people sometimes agree and sometimes don’t. It definitely helped me learn how to get the work done regardless of the difference in perspectives and to deliver on time. I also really enjoyed the support of the instructors. They were very friendly and encouraging at all times. This goes a long way when you are having a rough day learning to code. They had enough experience to help get me on the right track when I got lost.Throughout the week there were other real-world skills that we were learning including how to work with source control (Git), how to conduct a scrum stand-up and practice solving algorithms on a whiteboard. I needed to know something about all of these aspects in the various interviews I had. There are times when I would have liked a little more one-on-one coaching but there was a silver lining to that. I was increasingly getting used to the idea of relying on myself to find the answers. Each day as I go to work now, I find that the ability to seek out and find the answers yourself is a crucial skill to do this for a living. After I graduated, I had no shortage of interview opportunities around the Seattle area. I applied to just about everything even when I wasn’t sure I was qualified for it. Epicodus helped me polish my resume and my LinkedIn as part of their career support. This was especially helpful since I was new to IT.All said and done, Epicodus was a great value especially for the price and I would recommend this school to others who are looking to get their foot in the door. Key things that you need to know before you start this is that determination and grit are the most important things. There will be days when you are sure that this is too hard for you. It will be much easier to quit. The important thing to understand is that you only need to survive. You will learn enough to open doors if you don’t quit. If you’ve never done coding before, expect it will likely be the most challenging educational curriculum of your life. When you get your first job, it will feel worth it. And I want to say it’s very nice to make the most money I’ve ever made while having a career that allows me to be creative on a daily basis. I really appreciate the opportunity that Epicodus created for me.

Great experience! Before joining Epicodus, I made a market research about coding bootcamps in Seattle area, and Epicodus was one of the best options on the market with affordable pricing for 27-week intensive program, cirruculum including front-end and back-end technologies as well as the opportunity to have internship experience after the course. In Epicodus, I went from basic knowledge in programming to being able to write code in such widely used languages as C# and Javascript. And by the end of the course I learned how to build complex web applications from the ground up using different programming tools. But most important, having 5 weeks of real world work experiences was worth the value of the course.I would say that Epicodus is great start for prospective developers and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a career in tech industry.

I enrolled in Epicodus during the late summer of 2017 and graduated as recently as March of 2018. I started my first day at my new job in early July. I wouldnt have been able to start this new position if it werent for the skills and direction that Epicodus provided for me. The instructors are top notch they do not coddle you and walk you through everything, they know how to proud your mind into thinking in a manner that you will eventually come to a conclusion and if you eventually cannot solve it they will find the time to assist you. Class sizes are reasonable and the people there seemed very friendly. The atmosphere is not competetive in any way, I was in no way shape or form the best person or strongest coder in my cohort, but I felt like in order to find a job after your classes are finished you must be relentless in applications if you want to work. Also I knew from fairly early on I didnt necessarily want to work as an App Developer I just wanted to help build and design websites.

I graduated from Epicodus in September 2018 and got hired by my internship host company right away. Actually, one of the main reasons why I chose Epicodus was an internship, included in the course. But overall experience turned out great. The school learning curriculum was well structured, lessons were clear and easy to follow, still leaving a room for curiosity, and encouraging students to further exploration. Our instructor, John Franti, was impressively knowledgable and ethical. After the course, I felt quite well prepared for the interviews with the companies hosting Epicodus interns (yes, you have to go through the real interview process to get the internship placement, which is an especially valuable experience on its own).I would recommend Epicodus to anyone who has a desire to start a new career path in software development (and who is ready to put an effort to get there).

Visited their open house and workshop offered to prospective students to sample of what coding is. I was very impressed with the helpful staff in answering all my questions. Current students spoke highly of the program also. Students were honest and forthright on the schools structure and what they received in schools program. Jill in admissions is very patient and also answered all of my many questions. I’m hoping to attend in the near future once I secure funds to attend. Very nice knowledgeable friendly and approachable staff. Very nice facility in the old WAMU building. This school is the only one in Seattle that has a five week externship, in which 30% of students are hired on full-time. Can’t say enough good things about this school. It ALSO has VERY reasonable tuition!!😊

I’ve researched a few bootcamp school and Epicodus was the right fit for me. The price is reasonable for what I was looking for. Coursework is straightforward and the videos are great but wish there was a few more videos towards the end of the course which they are aware of. It was very challenging for me esp. with no coding experience but I was able to pull through with the support of the instructor and my cohort. The instructor is very knowledgeable and helped me comprehend the basics.Overall, I enjoyed (even on the tough days) and learned the skills I need to continue to grow my websit business attending Epicodus.
