Hilltop is no longer the reflective and intentional community it has been for years. There remain many exemplary educators, but turnover has been high under the current leadership. With COVID preventing families from entering the building, most of the changes have yet to be noticed. The Fremont location continues to offer full-day care while still unlicensed.

I want to start out with that I dont have a kid that goes here. I work near by and take my breaks at the water front near here. Two days ago I was taking my break when I couldnt help but over hear a woman berating a little boy and being extremely rude to him. I have a 6 year old boy and he can be a handful so I know how it goes when you get frustrated but this lady was being dehumanizing to him. She was saying things like No one trusts you. No one believes you. No one wants to be around you. You dont have friends. I dont like you. and just digging in to him all while he is hysterical crying to the point that hes gasping. Unfortunately I didnt say anything because I was in a hurry and its been eating me up. I hope this helps that boy or any other future kids because that lady is not fit to be around children. I think back and if I had caught someone speaking to my child like that I would be yanking him out of that day care immediately.

Authentically child-focused, natural environment and emergent curriculum. True to project-based Reggio-Emilia curriculum. Low student to teacher ratio, great admin support of teachers, teachers given lots of time for planning including working with mentors. Their new Institute provides in-house and guest speakers/workshops for teachers & families.

My son has been attending from ages 2-5 and we couldnt be happier with the attentive, knowledgeable, and caring staff. What a great place for a child to grow up!
