I have been to Don Roberts in Valparaiso many times over the last few years. I have had hair cuts, styles, dyes, highlights and low lights. I have been very pleased with the service and the results. As an Educator, I enjoy getting to help someone with their training. The price is about 50% of what a regular salon would charge and about 1/3 of what a high end salon would charge. The girls are well supervised by the Instructors who oversee the process and results of the client. Ms. Heather is excellent with teaching and guiding the girls in the process when I have services done here. It is a School so yes, you will have students do the work as they need to learn. I received many complements from strangers in stores when I have my hair highlighter, lowlighted, cut and colored! Recently a woman asked me at Curves who did my hair and said they did an excellent job. The young woman was a student at the school.

They are so prompt with me. Truly professionals in hair. My hair looked beautiful after she finished with me.

Drove 45 min to get the summer special highlights. I was told that I need a 48 hour patch test, and would need to come back. I understand but wish it was on the site so I didnt waste my time driving.

Been going here over 10 years for my hair and nails and facials. Every person is trained great price is affordable the teachers are wonderful

I called and made an appointment a month ahead (we have very busy weekends) I was to get my hair and makeup done and my fiancé a massage. As I get my keys to leave for the appointment I get a call saying the massage therapist cancelled..Im pissed off obviously since I- A. Planned this a month in advance. B. Coordinated mine and my finances busy schedules. And C. Needed my hair done terribly. I told her to cancel everything and we would not be rescheduling.I then get a phone call from a family friend that goes to school there and she spoke to all the managers or whoever and said ALL services would he comped since they screwed us royally the first time.So my fiance and I moved our schedule around to reschedule and have these services done as promise.. We would be making 3 separate trips since we were unable to coordinate everything in 1 day. (hair, makeup, massage all on separate days)And wouldnt you know it, I get there and they claim that was never said. And they dont comp hair services. This place is a joke. Ive learned my lesson and will go back to the place that has always done my hair. Which is what I shouldve done 2 months ago when I scheduled with this joke of a place.I called my mom to vent and had no idea they did the same thing to her!! With her nails/pedicure. I will never set foot in this place ever again.

I guess the cut that I wanted was a bit complicated so the teacher did a lot of helping / demonstrating but they did a great job.

Really badly ran school. Cant say anything good about it.
