Our 11 year old daughter has been learning Kung Fu from Sifu Argos for a little over a year. She has not only learned martial arts moves, but has learned meditation techniques and qi gong moves that are helping her in other aspects of life. Sifus one on one teaching style and directive but understanding attitude has meant that she can learn more quickly and feel more confident in her Kung Fu and her own power. Sifu Argos has been teaching my 11 year old daughter both Bagua Kung Fu and Chi Qong. These are unique styles that one typically finds only in major metropolitan areas so I was very surprised to find a master here in West Lafayette. In any case, Sifu Argos is excellent and customizes the lessons to the abilities of my daughter. My daughter enjoys the lessons too and has gained a lot of confidence over the last year.

I had my first lesson with master Jason Argos on 2013 March 10. He was very quick to respond to emails when setting up lessons and has a very professional demeanor.Master Argos has a gentle, calm, but very enthusiastic demeanor for martial arts. This is a refreshing change from some of the mediocre schools I have attended where folks were eager to exert their strength and domination over others. Furthermore, master Argos has the body-type of someone who has cultivated internal arts for some time; lively eyes, excellent posture, and a full dan tian. Furthermore, he has excellent technical and experiential knowledge and skill regarding the expression of various sorts of forces. He also has a very impressive martial arts lineage, though I cannot remember all of his teachers at the moment.I must note that I did not come to master Argos as a blank slate for kung fu. I specifically mentioned to him that I wanted to improve certain aspects of my training, especially covering and entering into an opponents space, in addition to having a live partner with which to practice. What I most appreciated about master Argos was that he did not ask me to start from scratch. Rather, he examined my demonstration of my fundamental Baguazhang set and he was able to pull applications from my set as well as point out the weaknesses in my application.For all of the above, I can honestly say that master Argos kung fu skill is not flowery fists and embroidery kicks, but he has a real skill and an obvious passion for the arts.
