Highly recommend Italian with Sabrina for anyone interested in Italian lessons, no matter what level. I wanted to take lessons to prepare for a family trip to Italy, and not having spoken Italian for many years I needed a refresher. I spent about 7 months taking one on one lessons and I cant think of a better way to get back up to speed.Sabrina made our lessons fun and engaging yet also challenging--but most importantly she really helped with my grammar. I dont think I realized how many mistakes I made when I spoke Italian, and she worked with me to polish my speaking ability. This helped me more than an app or textbook ever could. I highly recommend Sabrina as an Italian teacher. My daughter took private lessons with her for 3 1/2 years when she was in high school. Sabrina took her from being a good Italian student to being an excellent student. First, Sabrina is an excellent teacher. She knows her subject! Shes organized and understands what her students need. Just as important, she understands how to deliver this in the method that the student needs. Sabrina allowed my daughter to excel nationally on Italian examinations, win awards, win scholarships, and be an excellent speaker/writer of Italian. Plus, Sabrina is a lovely person. Having been enchanted by the Italian language for years, I decided to take the plunge and try to learn the language. Little did I know after my first phone call to Sabrina that I had come upon just the right person to teach me. While I dont have an ear for language, I do have a curiosity that Sabrina appreciates and runs with. Sabrina has an enthusiasm for what shes teaching as well as the patience to continue to encourage a novice of the language like me. Like any good teacher, if I dont understand something, she has multiple ways of explaining it until I comprehend. Her enthusiasm is infectious and makes every lesson fun.Sabrina not only teaches grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary, but she also teaches the culture of Italy that only an Italian could. I had the opportunity to travel with her and other students to Puglia, Italy for a week. It was truly the insiders guide to Italy with each day full of new experiences and, of course, only Italian being spoken. Sabrina is an excellent teacher who is very good at tailoring the lesson to the student. As a native speaker of Italian, she is not only able to teach proper Italian, but also teach true conversational Italian (sayings, common slang, etc). You cant really get this from a textbook, and its so useful; especially if you are planning to use your language skills in Italy or with a native speaker. Whether youre a beginner, or looking to advance your language skills, I highly recommend her!

Sabrina really is a top-notch Italian teacher. I wanted to learn Italian in order to apply for Italian citizenship and I can honestly say after almost 15 lessons (within a couple of months), I feel prepared to go to Italy and apply for citizenship via Jus Sanguinis. She helped me the most with speaking and listening. She is excellent at explaining grammar rules and catches every single mistake in written and oral expression. She also knows Spanish, which is my second language, and is able to tell me how grammar concepts in Spanish are in Italian. Above all, she is patient and engaging- the time during her 2 hour sessions really fly by as she tells you everything about Italian culture. I would recommend her classes to anyone that wants to learn Italian, regardless of their level.

I am SO excited to be working with Sabrina. I have wanted to really LEARN Italian for many years, but several of the other techniques and teachers I worked with weren’t the right “fit”.It seems as if I have learned more in the 5-weeks that I have been working with her, than I did for the past 5-years of trying different methods, different programs, and different philosophies.Sabrina has so much patience, enthusiasm and knowledge for the Italian language and Italy, that it’s impossible to not get caught up in the excitement of learning.The work is hard, and she spends time correcting and explaining mistakes, as well as praising good work. She teaches the basics of grammar, proper pronunciation, idioms and spelling, all while we are having a great time.I would highly recommend Italian with Sabrina for anyone, at any stage of learning from beginners to fluent speakers. After trying to learn Italian on my own for a couple of years (Pimsleur, Duolingo) and making very little progress, I finally broke down and decided to take lessons. So glad I found Sabrina - she is a wonderful teacher and makes learning Italian fun. As a native speaker, she knows what expressions are actually used in living spoken language, which is important for speaking/understanding Italians in Italy. I really enjoy her lessons and made more progress than I could hoped for in 6 months!

I studied with Sabrina for almost four years during high school. It was simultaneously one of the most enjoyable and beneficial experiences I have ever had, both on an interpersonal level and on an academic level. In fact, the only reason I stopped taking lessons was because I am now at college and no longer have the time. Sabrina helped me improve my speaking skills exponentially, and she helped me perfect and enhance my grammar and vocabulary as well. I ranked nationally several years in a row on the National Italian Exam and received the highest score in New England on the AP Italian Exam my junior year thanks to her teaching and mentorship. It is clear that Sabrina genuinely cares about the success of her students and knows exactly how to help them achieve it, regardless of their end goal. Also, I genuinely looked forward to my lesson every week, as she is an incredibly effervescent and lovely person to be around. :) I would highly recommend her as a tutor.

I began taking Italian classes with Sabrina through the Concord/Carlisle adult education program about 7 years ago. I was going to be traveling in Italy and wanted to be able to speak and understand a bit of the language. From the first, I was impressed with Sabrinas love of teaching and focus on both conversation and grammar - I wanted to learn more than just a smattering of basic Italian phrases for travelers. I continued with these classes for 3 years (elementary & intermediate), and decided to go 1 step further - I began taking group classes with Sabrina at her home. I welcomed the change in atmosphere, from being in a large, sterile classroom with florescent lights and buzzing air system, to sitting around a table in a comfortable room. I still look forward to my Italian lessons and conversation every week! ... Also, several years ago I participated in one of Sabrinas trips (unusual for me because Id only ever traveled with my husband or family) and felt it worthwhile both because of Sabrinas determination that the group try to speak only in Italian to increase our fluency, and because of Sabrinas true love of the country. I so appreciate everything Sabrina brings to teaching: her enthusiasm, sense of fun, real grasp of grammar and ability to explain it, and love of her profession.

I have taken two years of Italian lessons with Sabrina and am very pleased with the lessons and results. I can now read easy books, take part in a basic conversation, ask questions on the phone with hotels, for instance, and much to my delight not being answered in English.Voglio dimostrare che quello che ho detto e vero. I have been taking private lessons with Sabrina for about six years. If I were doing the homework diligently, I ought to be speaking the language perfectly by now because shes such an excellent teacher. But even when I havent done any written homework, we talk -- its much harder to talk and understand than it is to do the homework so I dont feel too guilty when I havent done any!Weve become good friends over the years and our conversations -- always exclusively in Italian -- are interesting and lots of fun.This past May I joined a group of four other of her students for a weeks trip to Verona. Making our headquarters in Verona, we visited Padova, Mantova, Lago di Garda and Trento. It was a wonderful trip.
