Symbol to me is a great place to learn a new trade. The entire organization is top notch. Knowledgeable instructors, administrators who care, I can go on. They know their stuff. They’ll help you get (and myself) going on a career. A neighbor told me about Symbol. I’m glad he did.

Symbol training institute is great. I had no prior knowledge to cnc machining and now I am confident for any interview. I definitely recommend Symbol for anyone trying to get into the machining world.

This place is amazing! They have been nothing but amazing doing nothing but helping me left and right to get me into class to get certified and learn something new. I’ve missed a few class due to family reasons but they’ve also helped me get back on track and make up the time I’ve missed! This is a great school and if you wanna learn a new trade, challenge yourself, or polish up some existing skills, symbol is the perfect place todo that. Would recommend symbol to anyone.

Symbol Training Institute is a great and awesome Vocational type school for advancing a career or moving into the CNC Machinist trade. If you can have the time for three days a week for 4 months. You will experience a very good way to advance your career and experience excellent instruction in class and hands on with Lathe and VMC. Another aspect of the school is continue on the next class for advanced programming. Symbol also offers classes in Quality Control. The best part I enjoyed was hands on creating parts at the machines.

I loved the hands on in the shop after the lecture broke things down into steps that helped me everyday .

Symbol Training Institute is a fantastic program with knowledgeable teachers to help you get started in CNC machining or industrial quality control. Its also WIOA approved, so if you lose your job through no fault of your own, you could qualify for an entire course for free.Pros:The courses are scheduled to give you the most time to work if you have a job while taking classes.I really enjoyed my experience there, with a few small exceptions.Some of the teachers are very good and know what they are talking about.Half of the training is in a classroom, the other half is on a machine where you get practical experience.At the end of the course you get national metalworking certifications for CNC machining.The communication and staff are outstanding. They respond right away to your emails and questions.Symbol has great services for building your resume and they connect you to local jobs to get you plugged in right after you graduate. The excellent reputation of the school helps you to get really good CNC or QC positions.They prepare you to pass each test so you have a very high chance to pass.Cons:The courses are built like crash courses, so if you want to get the most out of it be prepared to ask for extra tutoring and sessions to practice on the machines yourself. There isnt really enough time for serious skill-building to take place.Some of the teachers tend to rush through things or do things for you, which inhibits learning. If you have a big class, your time learning the practical skills goes way down.Its expensive compared to a community college course if youre paying out of pocket, considering the amount of time you have to learn.They tend to teach you how to pass the tests a bit more than they teach you to build your skills up to a confident level, so its up to you to ask questions or tell them when you dont understand something.

Me and my 2 daughters were laid off from the same company in 2017. The state offered assistants for schooling. We looked around to see what was available ( job wise ) and all the opportunities in the CNC field. We found Symbol Training in Addison. It was a great course. Me and my daughters are advancing in the field and they really in joy the work.Thanks to all the instructors they were great. With out the training it would have been hard to find a decent job

I worked in the manufacturing world for about a year when I heard about this school. Im currently attending this school and its opened many doors in the company I work in as well as opening up my options to making more money in other companies. The teachers help whenever help is needed and no one is left to just fail. Its overall a great school to go to.

! attended Symbol Training Institute almost 3 years ago through a grant from Illinois State. I received my NIMS certificates for Mill, Lathe and Quality. Soon after I got a quality control position-i loved it. Sadly-was laid off and soon got another Quality position due to may certificates and experience. I was soon in charge of all ISO and Aerospace 9100D Standards, policies and procedures etc. If it wasnt for Symbol, I doubt I would be working. I am a 59 year old female! Thanks Symbol!!!

It is a great institute to start a new career at that opens so many doors to succeed in your new career, all staff members were great and their goal was your success, I do recommend Symbol for everyone wants to change or start a new career......

After working for 10 years for a printing manufacturing company. They shut down the doors and was left without any income.Being the only provider of my family I knew I had to change my career.Found Symbol Institute and thru a state grant finished my basic training and 2 weeks after got my current job that I have been for 3 years.I’m a leed machinist now in charge of set up and programming 6 doosan machines and in charge of 4 operators.Strongly recommend Symbol cause they gave me the knowledge and skills to get a job that has great demand and future.It has change my life and I really appreciate all the help from them.
