Alameda Aikikai is a great place to train in traditional Japanese martial arts. The training is intense, and the chief instructor will definitely push you to accomplish feats you never thought yourself capable. Despite this, the members are very supportive and exude a very strong family atmosphere. Highly recommended, especially since they offer the first couple of classes for free.

Alameda Aikikai is a beautiful family of elite martial artists that truly preserve the traditional Birankai lineage of Aikido. Few schools in the US have such life, creativity, and openness in their practice as they do, and NONE as far as Ive seen the depth and rigor in their childrens program. Alameda Aikikai will always be a home for me, and I cant wait to be back soon.
