Truly an amazing place! My son was very shy when he started going there in preschool, and didnt want to play with other kids. Now hes an outgoing, happy first grade student who is incredibly polite and kind, and always picks up after himself, all reinforced learning from his time at Peppermint Stick. He still goes there for before and after school care, and hes always excited to go. Some days he doesnt want to leave! An amazing school filled with amazing caregivers who truly care about every child.

This school is a remarkable place for children. It is structured as a family. We have been sending our children there for years. They help build strong character in children and embrace their uniqueness. We trust the staff in its entirety and would recommend this school for anyone seeking a safe, fun, educational and diverse environment for their children. My children are 36, 32, 26 and 20. They all attended Peppermint Stick Preschool at some point as they were growing up! They each had the most amazing care and feel that as though everyone at the school are a significant part of our family! My children now have young children and have also taken them to Peppermint Stick. I absolutely love Cindy and Dermot and it such a blessing to know that there are still good people in this world that sincerely care about all children!

Peppermint stick was such a blessing for my children. They taught them to work as a team, help others and have fun at the same time. They would contact myself or their dad if there was a problem or if one of them were hurt or sick. The staff were very professional, kind and considerate to all of the families. I loved the fact that they would have a special meal, during the holidays for all of the children and their parents. What a special group of people! My oldest son is in the army and is starting a family of his own. My other son is in college. Thank you for all that you did. I never worried about my children while the we attending Peppermint Stick. God bless you all!

The directors of this preschool are awesome! You walk into the daycare and you can automatically tell you are in a safe and loving environment. All of the teachers welcome you with bright smiles and the kids all seem very happy. The playground has great equipment and there are daily lessons to help enrich the students academic vocabulary. This is the perfect place to take your child to get them ready for kindergarten.

Peppermint Stick is a wonderful child care for children ages 2 to elementary age. My daughter has attended PS since age two and I wouldnt trust her to be anywhere else. The owner of the daycare and his wife are two of the most caring and committed people to the children they care for. The staff has always been exceptional. The family centered environment creates a nurturing approach to help children learn and grow.

I have been a part of the Peppermint Stick Family for 15 years, via my two children who are now 17 and 11 :-) I have 2 well-rounded, productive, respectful and healthy children--part of that is owed to my childrens great experiences, guidance, instruction, and love they received while attending Peppermint Stick. Im so grateful and appreciative to Cindy and Dermot Newman and their staff. Mr. Newman and Ms. Cindy have an amazing talent and ability of running an amazing Preschool and after school program-- they are truly all about the kids! ❤

My kids have gone for the last 3 years, all three kids. They couldnt have been happier. The family at Peppermint stick is so caring and compassionate. The kids learn in a supportive, loving, friendly environment. They utilize the park at Zia elementary for park play and picnics when able as well as having their own playground at Peppermint stick. They always have fun and come home with new knowledge.

My kids and I have been part of the Peppermint Stick family for 13 years now. My oldest two children are now 15 and 12 years old now. When my youngest turned 2 years old I knew without hesitation where they would be attending preschool. This school came highly recommended to me when I was looking for a preschool for my child. Peppermint Sticks Preschool is more then just a school they are a family. They care for and get to know each one of the children as individuals. My children have had the opportunity to be a part of this amazing school and have had the privledge of receiving a great education from them. I am very grateful for the memories as well as the life long friendships my kids and I have now. The staff is fantastic and I have never had an issue with any of them or with their policies, or procedures. I am very thankful to be a part of this family and I would recommend this school to anyone who is not only seeking a great educational experience but also a great supportive system for their child’s emotional and behavioral development.

As a child I spent most of my days here, before and after school. Im 28 now and still remember. When I was 8 years old I got sick and needed an operation. When I woke up Cindy was there. She took time out of her day to come check on me even though she didnt have to. The Newmans invited all the families to their wedding. Some kids including myself even got to be in it. To this day I get messages and phone calls just to see how Im doing. Every once and a while I drop by for a visit. I definitely wouldnt be who I am today without the guidance I continuously get from the owners. The Newmans were never just my teachers I was family from the day I stepped foot in Peppermint Stick. I highly recommend you send your child here. They will be treated as family and the memories will last a lifetime.

I’m a product of the wonderful and caring staff at Peppermint Stick Preschool. I went there from the moment they moved to their current location in 1987 until I was 12! My 9 year old twins were there from the day they turned 2 and still attend before/after school and summer there. I can always count on their caring and attentive staff and I know my children are always safe. I wouldn’t send my kids anywhere else. Thank you for all you have done.

Peppermint Stick is a home away from home for so many. The teachers and owners bring so much love and compassion to our community and care so deeply about each individual child as if they were their own. Joining Peppermint Stick is not just simply joining a pre-school or after school program but more so being welcomed into a family of unconditional love. There are so many wonderful things to be said about Peppermint- the home cooked meals, story time, field trips, crafts and most importantly the importance of manners, kindness, and love that is built into their every day curriculum. 501 Jefferson is a little piece of heaven and will always hold a special place in my heart- go see for your self!

I have been here a short time with my twin toddlers. The kindness, generosity, understanding, patience and structure of this place rocks! I LIKE LOVE THE NEWMANS.

Mr. and Mrs. Newman were not informing me of incidents and accidents involving my daughter. I asked them for over 3 months to let me know what happens with my daughter at theyre facility and they didnt! Then when i went in and asked for my daughters incident and accident reports they illegally and unethically un enrolled my daughter??? I would not suggest this place unless you dont care whats going on with your children and like being treated rudely.

Really dont deserve a star. The head person can not fallow directions. Says he and his staff can handle children. That was a lie. Promissed to call if a kid got hurt. Thay was a lie. Dont go there they lie they should not be open .
