I recently became PALS certified through John. This is my fourth certification with him and he has been absolutely fantastic every class, including BLS and ACLS. Even though I was the only person enrolled the day I took PALS, he still didnt cancel or reschedule the class even though I offered him the opportunity. He worked with me one-on-one but still charged me as if I were part of a group. I cant thank him enough. He is very knowledgeable and patient with each student. I will continue to use American CPR for as long as possible.

Super class! I always enjoy BLS trainings, but this one was special. Fast-paced, informative, and fun. The instructor had a great way of saying things (and showing them too) that really made them stick. Highly recommend!

I took my ACLS with BLS with John this past weekend. He was kind, knowledgeable and made the class fun (which is hard to do). There were enough breaks to keep your mind engaged in the education. I am SO THANKFUL to John! My BLS had expired, and I was in a time crunch, I even had the possibility of being terminated from my job. First, Jon was very accommodating and was able schedule me a class after another company had canceled at the last minute. Next, the class was very informative, well-paced, and challenging without being intimidating. He is very knowledgable and will share tips and tricks to help you remember key points. I would highly recommend getting certified at American CPR training Center.

Jon is a tough experienced instructor, highly recommend his courses, worth the travel. I took the PALS & ACLS refresher and passed. Enjoyed tidbits on intubation, med calculations and chocolate (free). Remember to study and do not think he will not challenge your skills. Tough but fair. There is nearby places to eat for break.

I had no idea George Carlin was a first aid/ CPR instructor!As a massage therapist, I have to renew my first aid/cpr certification every 2 years and this was my second time taking Johns class. This is the second time I have attended a training by this wonderful man! He makes the classes fun, he provides information that we need for everyday use, or even just as a refresher. Lots of times there are little things we may have forgotten and John slips that in without making you feel bad for not remembering! I would recommend this man and his business for all your refresher needs or even your first time efforts! Look out dear, I have a list!

I recently took a BLS recertification class with John, the owner. John provided an wonderful experience. He was extremely knowledgeable, providing real life examples throughout the entire class. We were able to have hands on training with mannequins provided. After taking this class I feel very confident that I can perform the necessary tasks if I am in a situation with an choking and/or unresponsive adult, child or infant.

Best ACLS class I’ve ever participated in

John started out very friendly...but when I tried to cancel due to getting a class at my work he turned very rude, especially when it came to refunding my money. He attempted to charge me a credit card fee to cancel even though I used Paypal which was linked to my bank acct and not a credit card. He eventually refunded the full amount which is what he should have done anyway, but was rude about it. I have already notified my clinic to not refer any staff to his location. Not a good way to treat a veteran.

John is an excellent instructor. His many years as a paramedic and instructor is clearly evident in his ability to teach the course material. He is casual and engaging and uses real life examples to support the material.

John and jeff were great. Really helpful needed a bls card as soon as possible and they were able to help me out while giving quality information.

John is an excellent instructor, there is a relaxed and fun learning environment. John was eager to explain any aspect of the skills or the science of resuscitation and to share his many field experiences/successful outcomes. Most importantly, when taking a course here: You practice the actual medical skills as a resuscitation team; drawing up medications (sterile water in this case) and double checking for correct dose with classmates... Exactly the way a team should operate in real world medicine!Youll learn far more from this class and from Johns instruction than from any other course offered in ABQ the area!

Best Training ever! I had to recert my Pals last week and John saved me and got me in the following day. I have taken multiple classes taught by John and each one has been outstanding. He has a lifetime of experience and has always exceeds my expectations. I do not work in a field that manages Peds at all. It has been a while since my last Pals cert and I was not ready to recert. His class refreshed everything I learned going through school to obtain my license. I was left with key take home points that were presented in such a way that commiting them to memory and retaining them will be easy.John is a top quality instructor and worth more then his reasonable prices. Most courses I require are provided free, through work. If I ever need something not covered or am unable to make a class for work, John is my go to.

I drive 3 hours from Las Cruces to Albuquerque every time, because I know the quality of education I get with him is far beyond what I would get elsewhere. Time to recertify and American CPR is still here. I booked and paid for my class online, but class was offered in person, with several modifications for covid-safe practices. John is a good teacher, giving us the best practices for CPR and first aid sprinkled with stories from his long career which made the material memorable. I left the class feeling capable of helping in an emergency, finally.

It was amazing! Everything was COVID safe with distancing, manikins cleaned, and masks worn thru class. Instructor kept it light & funny with great review. Totally will be recommending this course to all my nursing student friends!

American CPR training center offers a variety of class times. The class was very informative. I felt confident when I completed the class that I could perform CPR on infants, children and adults. I now understand how to safety and effectively use an AED. We covered how to help choking victims of all shapes and sizes. Do you know how to help a pregnant woman who is choking? Neither did I.The class is presented in a relaxed atmosphere. My instructor (John) was quite knowledgeable and encouraged questions. He also had a great sense of humor and made the class fun.I recommend this class to anyone who is learning life saving skills for the first time as well as seasoned professionals in the medical field.

I wouldnt recommend going anywhere else.Plenty of convenient class times that are easy to book online.Anyone can teach the textbook. Johns been teaching for 25+ years, knows the latest research, and has the real life experience that put the textbook answers into perspective. Great sense of humor makes your class time fly by.

This is the second time I have take CPR at the CPR center. They are wonderful!!! GiGi was so knowledgeable and interactive with the class. I had some trouble downloading my CPR card after and John was beyond helpful in helping me resolve the issue so I could get my card. He even offered to personally speak with my employer to let them know I had done the class until I was able to get a physical copy of my card. Would definitely recommend their classes to anyone and I will be renewing with them again when the time comes.

Go see John NOW! It will be well worth your time and money. Let me start this review off by saying I had less then 48 hrs notice to prepare for the ACLS test before starting a new job in a different state. (I am a new provider) My company told me to take the online portion and then go in for the skills check off. This is not recommended for new providers!I studied and got through the online portion, but during the skills check off I completely CHOKED UP! Needless to say, I didnt do so well. John was incredibly kind and patient. He told me to go home, review what I had missed and to RELAX. He didnt just send me back home with nothing. He gave me multiple study materials and provided excellent teaching as to what I had missed and the rationale behind it all. He was under no obligation to do all of this, as I had the online course not the classroom course. He could have simply sent me on my way and told me to do better next time.I passed my test the following day. He allowed me to ask all of my questions before hand on anything I was unsure of and provided me the knowledge to be successful. Thank you so much!!

Ive been a nurse for 21 years and this is by far the best CPR class Ive attended due to instructor Johns vast practical knowledge he shared from many years experience as a paramedic. He has a great sense of humor and is very personable, making for a relaxed atmosphere. His attention to detail and anticipation of student needs is impeccable, even offering a supply of hair bands to those with long hair to use for skills. Very accommodating but serious about teaching the best care too.

I completed the BLS and BLS-recertification classes here. John was very knowledgeable and I appreciated his experience. However, he seemed to single me out and made some unnecessary comments to me during both trainings I attended, which I found frustrating (and mildly embarrassing). Although the course content was decent, I do not intend to renew my certification here when it expires due to my negative impression of the instructor.

I learned BLS and PALS in a more practical hands on way. Mr. LaVolpa, a retired paramedic, speaks from his heart about his career full of saving lives, with practical advice for us. His courses go beyond the sterile textbook material, and I feel more ready than ever before to implement life support.

They are a LIFE SAVOR, literally and figuratively. I was on a tight time crunch to get my CPR renewal, they were more than happy to squeeze me in their busy schedule right away to meet my deadline to get me in and re-certified. Did the 1 on 1 session as I didnt have the time to schedule for a renewal class. Got me in right away, did the training and all required AHA steps / process/ training to get my renewal certification. Years ago I did my certification through them as well so when it was time to do it again I came back to them. This is my second time going through them for my certification. Highly recommended.

I have been a medic for 20 years and recently took ACLS with John. The content was up to date, classroom was conducive to learning and John kept everyone involved and I guarantee everyone walked away with a better understanding of ACLS concepts.I have been to classes where the instructor just shows the videos and goes through required scenerios... not the case here. John goes above and beyond with his teaching and goes more in depth to increase comprehension. Also the scenerios were tailored to the students (medics get field scenerios and practice intubations and crics).Last thing worth mentioning is that John takes care of the military, offering discounts and in my case, he made sure I got into a class and he made it a point not to let red tape get in the way of getting me into a class.
