Dark Haven Studio is a great place for all skill levels. Personally speaking as someone new to both jujitsu and mma, this place is a safe learning space. Not only am I given the opportunity to protect myself offensively but also defensively. The staff are amazing and well trained individuals. I also took advantage of the strength trainer they have. I am in the army reserve and I mentioned what I was looking for and why, Dark Haven has done all they can to help me get on track to reach my desired goals. Besides the company itself, the environment is safe and friendly. Ive made friends with the other students and honestly look forward to each of my classes there. It really is a highlight for me. The classes also have a variety of times and days. So if you cant do such and such a date, you can go on another time. Highly recommend!

With no experience in martial arts 10th Planet fundamentals at the DH studio has been amazing. Patience, positive attitudes and a sense of community are just a few of the great qualities that keep me coming back. I am thankful my journey started here.

Great place for all levels of experience, instructors are very knowledgeable and engaged! All students from my experience in dark haven are very motivated to learn new things and help less experienced students learn the basics. The coordination between admin, instructors and students is stellar. Very well managed gym! 10/10

Training at Dark Haven has really helped me grow in skill and my love of Jiu Jitsu. The coaches are patient and work with each student at their level of understanding while helping each student improve in skill. The community of students is great as well. Everyone Ive encountered has seemed to be like minded in working to make one another better.

As a 40 year old who got into Jiu Jitsu later in life, I can only say positive things about Dark Haven. Instructors care about the students, focus on technique, and are welcoming. Members are diverse, friendly, and genuine. 10/10

Dark haven 10th planet offers an awesome environment to learn and grow. The coaches are all amazing and explain hard to learn concepts well.

Honestly the head coach is not professional. This place says “To create a studio where people can grow and evolve together as a community.”After years of training and supporting this establishment I was asked to leave because I was a “detriment to the community”As a paying customer I would suggest you also find somewhere else to train.This was the last message I sent to the president and ceo of the establishment before head coach sent me a message at midnight “I think its best if you find another school in Albuquerque to train at and not drop in to any more classes or open mats at DH / 10P Abq anymore.““ Hello Brendon, there are a few things I want to address with you. One of the main reasons I have not been training at 10PABQ is because of the rude behavior that Nate has presented towards me. This has continued as I have tried to reintegrate myself into the community at open mat for the past three weeks. This goes past him blocking me on Facebook and Instagram. I understand that he does not want to be my friend, that is fine with me and I am able to accept that. Donnie also blocked me on Social Media but he has remained cordial and professional. The behavior I am referring to is Nate’s refusal to acknowledge me as a person when I greet him and try to say goodbye. There have been multiple instances where I enter a place of gathering and he will abruptly leave without saying a word. This is brash behavior that others have noted as well.I was so excited to create a community of women striving to embody the values of “growth and evolution”. This is the reason I have spent so much time, money, and energy to get trained and certified. I wanted to create a community with the goal of protecting and empowering women. However Nate abruptly removing me from the “Women’s Killas” group today violates all of these values. This again is an example of a man using his power to decide who can and can’t be part of the community that was created for women. It is my belief that as our leader of the DH community you are actively supporting this behavior unless you stand up to it. This way of thinking and acting is only going to perpetuate itself if allowed to take its own course.If you felt that I wasn’t the best candidate for this class I would have understood, but having been cut out in this way is hurtful and not fair.”The owner then proceeded to respond“I have talked to Nate multiple times about this and will talk again tomorrow. I don’t know what his beef is is and why he removed you from that group. I apologize and In no way stand with it. Nate knows that. I will talk to you more once I speak with him.”He never responded.I had not been there since then.Few months later I received a text message at midnight from head coach “I think its best if you find another school in Albuquerque to train at and not drop in to any more classes or open mats at DH / 10P Abq anymore” again this coach is a 38 year old man and I am a 23year old woman. There is absolutely zero reason for him to message me at midnight. And there is zero reason for a “leader” who is 15 years older than me to belittle, and bully me in such way.All I hope that you as a client also find somewhere else to train.

So I have only been a member for a couple of months, but every time I go in to train everyone is super nice. Nate is an outstanding instructor. If you want to train MMA/No Gi BJJ this is a great place to go if your a beginner or expert. Thank you guys for a great place to train.

Instructors were always patient and very helpful since I was worried about starting out pretty new. Always so much fun!

If your a fan of jiu jitsu this is the best place in albuquerque! Staff are super friendly and easy to work with. The environment is very beginner friendly for those who are just starting out or maybe trying to advance there game. Hands down my favorite place to train!

This gym is what you hear about 10th planet moons! The staff and students are all welcoming & helpful. The instructors KNOW their material and are able to relate it to all levels. The gym itself is clean and comfortably decorated. You can tell everyone appreciates & takes ownership & pride in their gym. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend to people totally new to nogi jiu jitsu or veterans of any style!

I’ve been training 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu at Dark Haven Studio for just over three months and it’s been absolutely incredible. I’ve trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the past, but this is a completely new experience. Dark Haven Studio has high level instructors who live and breathe Jiu Jitsu. Their enthusiasm is contagious. My training partners are awesome, no “mat spazzes” or egotistical guys trying to tear my limbs off. They’re people just like me who want to train hard, get better, and bring others along with them. Dark Haven/10th planet is much more than a BJJ studio. It is a community of people who are closer to family than team mates. The classes are informative, fun and high quality. The instruction is well organized with monthly themes of technique where you learn, drill, and apply until you have them down.The group is welcoming to all, while jiu jitsu can be intimidating to jump into, they keep it safe and fun.Finally, Jiu Jitsu is a great form of exercise, Ive need lots of team-mates, myself included, drop pounds and gain fitness over my time at the gym...
