Poor massage from uninspired student. And that was where it started.I asked a few questions after my massage and they went around the room. Nothing but a bunch of shrugs and I dont know. The staff does not know the BASICS of massage. The owner and manager both struggled to act legitimate.I looked into it and found that many of these positive reviews were written by students and staff. This is a clear conflict of interest and further evidence that this school lacks integrity.Yuck.

I love this place because the students and also the therapists are very caring friendly professional and they give wonderful massages!! I have and do go to some other places but have been going to utmi and love it!!!?

This place is REALLY affordable if you get a student masseuse. Although because they are students you are kind of rolling the dice about the quality of the massage because they are still learning. Overall Ive had good experiences with most of my massages. The woman at the front desk, Barbara, could be a little more polite though. When I spoke with her she was very short and it didnt feel very friendly. But she may have been having an off day. Overall very affordable massages. Would recommend.

Just had an appointment with them today. Had a great experience. They are friendly, professional and my therapist was a student and she did a great job. The only thing Id say is I like a massage with massage oils vs the lotion that they use.I am very happy my husband and I chose this place will return and tell others of this place as well.

I have been using this place for several years. The rooms are always extremely clean. The staff is exceptional. I have had both the professional massage and the student massages. Never have I had a bad experience. I have tried the other massage schools in Albuquerque, and they have nothing on the professionalism that this place and their staff consistently provides.

The school teaches you basics but not enough to pass a board exam. If you go to this school be sure to have a background in pathology because they will not cover the important test questions! But the owners will go out of their way to make you cry if your ever called to office.. Richard is awesome Rick is cool and might help you.. Faith has been providing excellent massages for me during the last 2 months to help in alleviating a pinched nerve in my neck. She is very good and her foot massages are heavenly. Thank you for all the healing/torture :}

UTMI is a wonderful school. I appreciate the modalities that are taught in this school. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The staff and students are concerned about the clients. The clients best interest and health are their number one concern. I recommend this school if you are wanting a great career or a wonderful massage.

Had the most awesome massage ever!! Joseph is amazing and if you need a good fix I would recommend him! Staff was very nice and attentive.

The first time I ever used them was last month. I found a wonderful student that I wanted to keep going to after she graduated since she had really helped me with a neck issue. I asked the school to please give her my number and have her call me, since when I tried to give it to the student she said she couldnt take clients while still in school. They said they couldnt do that because after students graduate they dont get into their files for information.I guess they train them, but dont help them acquire clients.

UTMI is the best massage school in the US. Their instructors are excellent and I have a fantastic business with their instruction. Im booked weeks in advance. Thank you for a great second career.

I want to address the review by LPS Gecko Girl. I was in the waiting room when this person came in. This person was not polite AT ALL to the receptionist and it you think you were you might think about who you are. Barbara, the receptionist was as polite as she could be while being talked to in such a condescending tone. UTMI is a very professional place. I love it!

I highly recommend UTMI to anyone who is looking for an affordable massage in a very professional atmosphere. This is a learning facility , so you can choose from a variety of different talent and find your right fit! They also have licencensed therapist massages for those needing specialized work.

Impaired full in -class learning outcome to 3.9 GPA student in refusing to reprimand disruptive student.Bribed student upon intent to report sexual harassment to Massage Board.Severe post graduation trauma and near insanity from result of admin actions contrary to policy & finance officers relations to violent figures and history of retaliation with student.Students intent to aid school met with disdain and retaliation.

I LOVE this school!!! I had fun from the day I stepped in to talk to Admissions to the last day of school, which was a full year later, since I also took the advanced class. Rich and Rick were awesome. Great people to talk to. I always get something out of our conversations. I love Christines humor and I cannot forget about the instructors I had! Dr Kim, Peter, Roberta, Jennifer, Dr Nan, all were great teachers! Thanks to them I passed my MBLEx on the first try and so did 4 of my other classmates. I had so much fun with all the classes. Pathology was hard, but its pathology. You cant expect that class to be easy. Then the Medical course really got my confidence up. This course helped me understand the muscles more in such details. Universal Therapeutic Massage has a really great program. I am partial as I am a former student and now I am a Licensed Massage Therapist. My experience at UTMI was amazing. The education that I received from my time at UTMI was top notched. The instructors and staff were with me every step of the way. My time working in the clinic was invaluable in my training. It really helped me grow as a Therapist and I was able to work with many wonderful people from the public. Many of those wonderful people are still clients to this day. If you have the opportunity to get a massage from one of the students or from one the Professionals (all of which are graduates of UTMI) you cant go wrong. As long as you remember that unless you request a Professional Therapist you will be receiving a student massage and they are still in training. You will be getting a really good massage at a discounted rate! And anyone that is looking to make a change in their life and have considered Massage Therapy you should really check out the program at UTMI you wont be disappointed.

I had decent results once or twice relieving minor aches. The last time I went for a back massage to prepare for a round trip drive to Denver. The male therapest apparently reactivated a 20 year old old rotator cuff injury. I told him several times to go easy on the right shoulder. He didnt listen and vigorously kneaded the shoulder. Rotator cuff pain, dormant for years, started hours after the session and lasted for months.robert c rust
