Went here from kindergarten to graduation straight through, I graduated 2020 and towards the end I had Mr. and Mrs. Pavillard make many issues about me and a close friend of mine just attending that school and which ways our eyes wandered, they made the assertion that we made Mrs. Pavillard uncomfortable when we were around her, which came as a shock to both of us. This issue ended up escalating quite a bit by the end of the year and I could only imagine if I was younger and had to continue going to this school. I made what was happening known to Mr Reneau and many other staff members and nothing was done. This is a good school to send your kids to if you enjoy not having any of your issues take care of since all the management is a bit too friendly with their subordinates. In the case that you are reading this and Mr or Mrs pavillard is soon due to be your child’s teacher, please warn them not to be friendly or say anything more than necessary to these teachers and if your child speaks up about being treated unfairly by them you should take their statements seriously

The teachers all have their favorites and I just today got screamed at by that favorite student and I got in trouble because the teacher left out the part about her favorite student and my mom got mad. I have to miss out on a birthday party that my freind is throwing. And she is on The BRINK of falling apart and now I cant be there for her when I need to. Oh and I forget to mention that the teacher said that she didnt hear the student yell at me so the teacher had no idea weather the student was mean, rude, or disrespectful to me. And she did not even ask what she said and still brought the attention to me.

I go to this school and are currently in7th grade, I started in 5th grade and have had some ups and downs with this school, but overall its a good school! The learning system is good and easy to learn! My preferd teachers that I have had are mis. Lanigan and mr pavillard. The teachers here are nice and its hard to have a disliked teacher. I have been having almost straight As at this school and at other school I would usually get As and Bs. But if your a kid about to go to this school let me cheer you up NO POP QUIZES!one negative is that they have no extra classes such as clubs or sports teams other than a basketball team.

We Love love love Vista (Ama Collegiate Academy)! Our kids have gone there for 4 years now and we have seen so much positive development in them. I love that the school is more like a private school, that it is aimed to develop good character not just academics, that is sets your child up for LONG TERM academic success starting at such a young age and that it has an individualized curriculum method of teaching. No kid is left behind and no kid is pushed too fast; but EVERY KID SUCCEEDS! The teachers will do whatever is necessary to help each student succeed, they will modify their teaching, work extended school day hours...whatever it takes to help each student genuinely excel. How great is it that when our kids graduate high school, they will already have all the study habits down that they will need to go through College! How awesome is it that they can graduate with their ASSOCIATES DEGREE before even getting their HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA!?! There are many doctors, lawyers, law enforcement officers, and college professors children attending Vista because they see the educational value in the academy. I agree with them. Its a great school....and its tuition-free!

Personally, i think it’s not the best school. i did learn more there and had higher grades than i ever have had at public schools but the teachers aren’t the best. everything is independent but you can ask teachers for help, whenever i asked mine they clearly didn’t know what he was doing. they told my parent in a parent teacher meeting that “they knew how to do the work in their head but didn’t know how to show it” which isn’t helpful at all. not to mention anybody doing anything at all about bullying or anything. aside from the uniforms and learning system, it’s like any other school.

Our journey with Amarillo Collegiate Academy (formerly Vista Academy of Amarillo) started in 2007 when we were hoping for something more. Our kids were in a private school, but the school was limited on accelerated instruction options due to the traditional nature of the classroom. We had decided to home school, but a good friend continued to suggest that we just talk to the director. After touring the campus and getting ALL of our questions answered, we felt at peace and made the decision to enroll them. Our decision was primarily based on the individualized curriculum (they could somewhat move at their own pace and once a concept was mastered, they werent waiting for other students to comprehend and vise versa, if our kids didnt understand a concept, they could spend more time on it or ask for help until they understood), but also our decision was made because of the warm and loving atmosphere of the school. We are very thankful for the AMAZING opportunity to have our kids attend ACA; our oldest just graduated with both his associates degree from Amarillo College and his HS diploma (in the same year). Our middle and youngest are participating in the same program and are on track to follow him as Diploma and Degree students. As a parent, I say if youre looking for a blended-learning environment, where the limits of how far your student can go depends on your student, ACA is the place for you!
