I have been coming here since 2018 for all my certs and updates. Got my AWS and L.A. City D1.1 with them and currently learning Flux Core. Mike, Curt and Wayne have been the most supportive and helpful instructors I could have ever asked for and do not make you feel stupid for asking questions. If you’re a woman (like me) considering welding I HIGHLY suggest coming to CTM, they will welcome you with open arms. After all my certs they helped me get into the Millwright Union and I could not be happier! They helped me pave my career and I am forever grateful.

Highly recommend this school for anyone interested in the AWS L.A. City welding certification. Great book instruction for AWS L.A. City D1.1. I passed the book test on June of 2017. One on one Training. Small class size. Many people seeking to be in the Union go here. You can practice here with the material at cost and schedule an appointment to get a booth. There is no waiting that way and you can get right to work and practice. Im in the union. There are many unions that need welders right now. Going Union is a much better route. I get paid great money for what I do and its because I went to school and got my welding certs prior before joining the Union. Union Pride.

I first came to CTM because I was interested in learning to weld but their building was burned and being repaired. Classes were still available although they were small and they suggested I come back when the building was finished. So I put $1000 credit toward my classes on my books with them. I ended up having a family emergency and never once started any classes. I called to try to get my money back and they refused. They also aren’t members of the Better Business Bureau.

Took a few months to get my 3g4g stick and wire witch is what you need to work as a welder in the union. I did some looking around and BY FAR they are the most reasonably priced. Same day I passed my last certification I already was in contact with two jobs, and well paid job(union Carpenters) ... best decision of my life . Mike, Curt, Wayne are top notch teachers... by far the beat decision I’ve ever made in my life. Thank you guys! I appreciate it all!

Just wanted to say thanks to CTM welding. Mike, Curt, and Wayne are hands on and very informative. If you want to weld, or learn to weld, they will get you certified no matter what your skill level is. I just got hired as an Ironworker for local 433 and I’m truly grateful to be a part ofCTMs success stories. Thanks again guys!

I highly recommend calling Mike if you have any questions about getting your Welding Certs. I cannot speak highly enough of Kurt & Mike.I went from having ZERO knowledge of welding, to LA City Certified for Steel Structural D1.1 All you have to do is listen to their valuable words of wisdom and experience.These guys know their stuff and will get you ready for success. Best part is their program is by the hour, with flexible hours. Which is a awesome alternative to Community College or other “Trade School Programs.” My only regret is not finding them sooner!

The only place in SoCal that would work with my full time schedule as a union glazier. Mike worked with me and I was able to weld every weekend. Took me 5 months only going on weekends and now I have my d1.1. I also took mikes la city prep course and passed with no problem I was prepped for everything on the test. All in all this is a great place to learn and get certified.

I was able to go from never having welded to passing certification. The classes and practice you receive here can’t hold a handle to any trade school or college program. Learn to weld at your pace which is a great way to keep working and learn a new skill or trade! Prepfor the union or learn so you can get a raise at work! This place will help you achieve the goals you set! Mike and curt are very knowledgeable and help you overcome issues or problems you can run into while learning. Highly recommend!

The guys at CTM are industry pros and will prepare you for an L.A. city test or any welding process you are looking to refine. They will work with your schedule to get you hours in the booth and have you in and out in a short time.

I always wanted to weld as a hobby at home but because of work and scheduling it was very difficult. Now because of life changes I’ve had to change careers and location and CTM has helped me to get AWS certified and L.A. City certified. I had never welded at all. Even after their shop was damaged after a fire they didn’t forget their students and continued to make sure they got their time in. I’ll continue to look to them for future support, advice and education. Mike and Curt have been great and I always name drop when I’m asked where I received my training.
