I did the nursing program here. Its an intense 19 month program, with high standards, to get an associates degree, but since Ive started working Im realizing how well prepared I was for both the NCLEX-RN and to work as an RN. The basic idea of the program is to take regular semesters and condense them into 10 week terms, then run those terms one after another with a week off for Christmas. It is an expensive program, so look into whatever financial aid you can qualify for. The nursing instructors were fantastic and genuinely cared about the students. They all had a strong drive to make sure we grasped the material and were well prepared to be nurses. There have been recent upgrades to the facilities so the lab is even better now than it was when I went. And the lab was already pretty good.

Yes the school is expensive but I am using my GI bill and when the GI bill caps out they are enrolled in the yellow ribbon program and I have yet to pay out of pocket for any of the program. It’s hard on your social life and takes away time from my family but it’s a sacrifice you must be Willing to take for the future!

This is a great college, great people who works hard to make their students highly successful. I came here not knowing a thing about Medical Assistant and now Im leaving here with everything to know about Medical Assistant.Because of the professors and the instructors who puts their minds and hearts into teaching their students both on-ground and online campus and to the amazing staff who are always willing to assist their students with any challenging obstacles, I feel absolutely confident to pursue my career with any given opportunities that are out there in the medical field.Ive completed the MA program this year and I will be going back again for my Associates of Applied Science Allied Health this December. Who knows, I just may keep coming back with anything they have to offer, theyre awesome. I love this college. So I want to say Thank you to Anchorage Charter College for your amazing and hard work and I also do recommend friends and family that Charter College is the right college. I loved my MA program and appreciate all my instructors greatly. I just wish that my classmates werent allowed to be so mean to me. All I did was ask a question and when I brought it up, some of the staff defended the other students so I felt like people can be mean to me and get away with it. This is why I didnt give 5 stars. Other than being bullied by other students, I liked the place.

I am a graduate in the aviation department for charter college. To be fair I did get all of my certifications and ratings through them with the G.I. Bill. My issue with them is that I finished their program early and they just gave me certification for it and left me holding a $6000 bill. If you have G.I. Bill benefits I highly recommend you do not take them here keep in mind this is not necessarily a school but this is a corporation.

Signed up for the MBA program last year and wasnt sure what to expect. Id been out of school for 12 years and when I was in school my classes were in large university lecture halls. I was unsure of how successful Id be in the online environment and tentatively started my classes at Charter. What I quickly learned is that I was in the drivers seat. Every Monday my instructor would post my assignments and I was able to plan my week accordingly. Working full time and having a family meant I needed a flexible schedule. The program was rigorous but well worth it. If it had been easy then it wouldnt have been a quality MBA program. I enjoyed getting to know my classmates located in different states and benefited from their extensive leadership and business experience. I wish Charter offered a Doctoral program.

I have been working with Charter College now for almost 6 years. Ive had so many wonderful opportunities presented to me, and Ive been so humbled by the experiences I have had. I started out as an evening front desk administrative assistant. At that time in my life, Charter College presented me with the perfect position to be able to help my family out financially. As I became more invested in the college, as well as the staff and students, I set out for more growth. I wanted to be able to effect change, and help the school grow. One of my favorite events Ive gotten to serve in while working at Charter is graduation. Ive watched so many students come in nervous...making the decision to change their life. And, in that final day, watching them smile and be proud of their accomplishments is such an amazing feeling.Being a part of Charter College has been such a blessing, as I get to be a part of a team that truly cares about one another, and its students. From the beginning, all the way to finding employment, we get to work with our students to help them change their lives. As Campus President, I received an amazing call from a student that wanted to thank me for her Deans Certificate, as she had never received such an amazing certificate. She had worked so hard, and I was so happy to have been able to present her with a certificate that will remind her of her hard work! And now going forward, Ill be running our Operations Center in Salt Lake City. This by far has been the most exciting adventure Charter College has sent me on. It is one more step in the right direction in reaching the many people that need help changing their lives, whether through one of our many up & coming ePods, online environment, Aviation, and much more! Im looking forward to the future of Charter College!

This College is sub par and mediocre at BEST. Stay far away from this place. They only care about getting you in the door and signed up. After that YOU are in the drivers seat and pretty much have to teach yourself. As for them trying to place you in a job before or after you graduate, I know of no one that has landed a job because of them. I truly do regret going to this College because now Im in debt, and unemployed with a skill set. The ONLY thing I am grateful for, are the two instructors I had. The college itself is nothing special. Recruiters are worse than a Used Car Salesman. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Do yourself a favor. Take your time and money, and go somewhere else.

No school, no program, nothing in life is perfect but whats great about Charter College is they are willing to work with you. I took the AAS in Paralegal Studies at Charter College and had a great experience! It was my first time taking courses online, and I was very nervous about it. I was concerned about getting the school experience and how I would be able to learn the material without an instructor in front of me to ask questions and get immediate answers. I shouldnt have been worried. The courses are structured in such a way that you have access to and communication with the instructors whenever you need it. And, with the discussion forums and easy email function, communicating and getting to know the other students in class was easy. I graduated 3 years ago and am still in contact with some of my classmates. The instructors I had were amazing. I could tell that they loved what they did, had a lot of passion for the subject they were teaching, and really wanted me to learn. I would recommend this school to anyone. I dont believe I would have received a better education anywhere else.

I came here to start a new future from my dysfunctional past. I got into an argument with front desk a few times. And they always call campus president that I call too much and to limit calls. Also today Jasmine instigate me to get mad so I can argue with her so she can complain on me Im just a bad person when Im not. Jasmine instigate me by saying open up my ears. And I was on a group with all somoians. A new somoian girl came in and one somoian told me to leave the group I was with them and go to another group and let the new Somian girl join the group. I told Josef what happened and asked to change up the group cause it was a racial thing and bully me. He just look at me and didnt help me. Josef just care about student recognition for good reviews and raise. Campus president Joshua didnt believe it was a racial thing and bully either. I looked up one word in an exam to go on to my Associates and they said I couldnt do that and I didnt know. So campus president told me I cant further my education in my Associates untill further notice if I can come back or be banned for looking up a word I didnt know. Also I believe charter college is not a good place. They just take your money and shove you out the door or discharge you if you did something wrong like what I did. So just bad things I experience here. Just because I have a criminal record they believe Im starting everything when theres people instigate me. I wouldnt be mean to someone if there starting it first. So I have to further my education somewhere else.

Had a very bad experience with Charter College. During my 2nd term of the Vocational Nursing program, my grades were changed without my knowledge and it caused me to fail and now they are telling me I owe them $7,000 because of that. I was told that in order to repeat the term I would have to pay $9,000 out of pocket. Due to the fact that I couldnt afford that I decided not to go back. We I went to a different school I found out that my credit will not transfer because this school is not regionally accredited. Now Im basically having to start all over again. I highly recommend staying away from this school. It seems that they only want money from the students. So do your research before applying to a school so you dont have to go through what I did. I did the nursing program the program itself is fast paced and some of the administration has favorites. I paid $60,000 for my AA which is a lot but UAA waitlists is so long my time was worth it. As far as instructors go: Professor Bune is great. Haussler is cool too. Moore is super serious but she will make sure you know your stuff and is encouraging. As far as clinical instructors they always have new ones, no consistency on grading. Professor Karriker Grades hard. Eshe talks a big game but is just trying to get paid. Professor Mapes Grades hard too, very kind person, is well respected on her unit, and seems like she wants to do a good job. She is pretty Hot and Funny too, gives you something to look at during clinical. Her no cell phone policy sucks. Professor Sweetin is knowledgeable but will take off points for not stapling your paper or misspelling words and does not talk much. Overall it was not that bad and I got a job out of it. Good Luck with Charter... They tell you ANYTHING to get into the programs, but leave you hanging in the end... I disclosed my DUI (13 yrs prior) at admission, told the admission counselor I wanted to work towards Cold Case Detective, she (of COURSE) said NO PROBLEM!!! AND... They DO offer a 14 day TRIAL... BUT... 31 days into my courses, I disclosed to my Instructor what my goal was, and I was informed that a DUI, even that long ago, EXCLUDES me from Cold Case Detective, as that is all run through the F.B.I....And ANY infractions limit you from that society... Iinda gave up at that point, finished the classes I was already part way through, then decided to take a hiatus.... When I went to get back into the program, no one would call me back, when they did call & leave a message, they were unavailable when I tried to call back.... So here I sit owing $1300+ for courses I can never use... WTH needs American History in everyday life???? PLEASE think twice before trying Charter College.... Take it from someone that knows....

I am a VETERAN and PLEASE stay the hell AWAY from this school. I completed a year of my RN program in a different state, different accredited nursing school and decided to move closer to my parents in Anchorage. Today I called and they needed a copy of my unofficial transcript. I sent it in and I got back the most obvious rip off reply. Out of all the classes Ive taken last year which was a total of 46 credit hours, they would only tranfer Math 101 and all Nursing Science classes I had already took there eventhough it was all on campus and none was done online will NOT be transferred such as Paharmacology, A&P, microbiology, etc. All my classes had A and B grades. Information Literature, psychology, english 101, etc wasnt even part of the conversation lol. Only Math 101 they would transfer lol. OmG this is obviously a SCAM school. To top it off, my previous school is regionally and nationally accredited while Charter is NOT. FUNNY HUH?!? If anything they should transfer every single credit over, smh. It doesnt make any sense at all. VA paid for all my passing courses why the hell will they pay for me to retake them again in a different school when I had already passed them. Ridiculous! They have a passing grade of C in their classes once youre in but if youre transferring in with a C oh you have to repeat it here with us. How about you repeat this D.

I thought that the teachers were fantastic! I worked very hard and graduated on the Deans list while going for my Associates in Health Information Technology. I was so excited to graduate and start my career in the Health Care field. Charter is Nationally Accredited but that doesnt mean anything of they are not recognized as an accredited school by AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association). AHIMA is one of the main organizations where everyone in the health information management field (coders, ROI, etc.) earns their credentials and certifications from to move up and earn a competative wage. Im am struggling to pay off the extremely high student loans I have run up for education with Charter and am not able to increase my wage until I am able to earn these credentials. This would mean that I would need to attend a university that IS recognized by AHIMA and earn my BA before being able to sit for an exam. The most frustrating part of all is that throughout your courses they drill into you how important credentialing is throughout your health care career, learn about all of these different organizations and surprise........you cant take them! I feel like I have been completely taken advantage of. It was A LOT of time and hard work and I have nothing to show for it!
