My child’s education was neglected they did not prioritize him and were looking for ways to profit instead. He was having trouble with his classes and when he went to get extra help from his teachers they refused and told him to he should already know the material. They also did not provide him with adequate resources for his school work. So how is he supposed to know the material?

I wouldn’t recommend going here, my daughter enrolled at this school and she said that the teachers were very negligent and offensive and that they weren’t doing their job properly. The school doesn’t care about you or your child’s learning, they only care about scamming you and getting your money.

The oldest Montessori school in Virginia is also the best Montessori School in Virginia! Our daughter has been here since she was 5 and she would stay through college if she could. She feels welcome and appreciated and confident thanks to the school’s wonderful faculty, staff, students, and community. 😍

I appreciate the respectful, nurturing environment, and the emphasis on independent problem solving at MSNV. It also has highly trained teachers and low staff turnover - which can be hard to find in early childhood education. The Montessori materials/approach give students an excellent foundation in both academics and social skills. This is a lovely community that encourages family participation and feels like a second home for my children.

As current parent we have felt so fortunate to be a part of the MSNV community for the past six years. Our child is thriving in the upper elementary program and genuinely so excited to go to school everyday. The Montessori curriculum is so valuable in allowing the children the creative freedom and the interpersonal social skills that will serve them the rest of their life. The outdoor opportunities throughout the day are fantastic and the incredible caring, nurturing environment truly provides an incredible experience for the children and the families of MSNV.

My son attends MSNV and we love the school, the teachers, and the quality of the education he is receiving there. The school facilities are bright, open and inviting, and the classroom materials are exciting for the children and give them a variety of work projects to explore, and the breadth and depth of what my son is learning is amazing. We also love the amount of parent involvement and participation in events that we see, and the kindness and friendliness of other MSNV parents and staff. This year my son is finishing the Primary program (age 3-6), and we are enthusiastically sending him to Lower Elementary (1st-3rd grade) next year.

My daughter has been a student at MSNV since she was two - were in our 6th year at the school. We couldnt be more pleased with our experience at the school. The teachers are very invested in each childs development and education, and the whole school feels like family. One of the things that has impressed me about the elementary program, in particular, is how self-directed and self-motivated the children are. My daughter makes her own work plan each week, and is proud when she completes it. The Montessori curriculum encourages students to be intrinsically motivated to complete their work and seek out new learning opportunities. This is the foundation of life-long learning that will help her adapt and grow throughout her life and future career. The school has wonderful enrichments and after school programs to complement the strong academic curriculum. We love it so much, we usually enroll in the summer program here as well.

Peaceful Environment for Learning. We were really excited to find MSNV. Their campuses are conveniently located to our home in Falls Church as well as other communities inside and outside the beltway. Lessons are presented in a true Montessori style that challenges minds to grow from the pre-primary classes on up. We continue to be pleased with the sense of community that is engendered in each of our three children as they lay the foundation for a life-long education.

The best gift any parent can give their children is a good foundation for their educational future done within a safe environment. We absolutely love MSNV and are very grateful to have found MSNV when we did. We have both of our kids enrolled (the youngest started when he was just 2). We have been with MSNV for over 6 years and couldnt be more pleased with the love and care and attention they get from the amazing faculty and staff.From the very start, we were impressed with the discipline, patience and caring environment which the children were taught. The school provides a safe, loving and secure environment and our children absolutely love attending MSNV.At MSNV you feel more like a family and I would recommend MSNV to anyone without hesitation.

We are so grateful to have found MSNV for our two children! It is such a warm and welcoming enviroment, for children and parents alike. One of the things that most struck me is the number of teachers who have been there for 20+ years.....really says something about their love of children and of their school. MSNV offers a truly authentic Montessori experience, from the academics, to the arts, to the outdoor and peace education as well. Im so happy for my children to have had MSNV through the elementary years....our daughter graduated the 6th grade last year, and our son is in 5th grade this year.

MSNV gave my family the best foundation any parent can ask for: They helped me raise my kids with values, respect to others, eagerness to learn, they enjoyed everyday going to school, now they are young boys going into adulthood and still showing that self discipline, self motivation and the love for learning that they grew up with at MSNV. I will always be thankful to MSNV because it was the right environment where my children learned not only math and science but values and high standards. Montessori is the best education philosophy any parent can ask for.

The Montessori School of Northern Virginia is a true treasure of a school.This is our 5th year at the school for our 3 girls and there is hardly a day that goes by that we dont thank our lucky stars for having found this very special school when we moved to the area several years ago! I wish every child could know the magic of MSNV. The teachers and staff are unfailingly compassionate, deeply dedicated to each and every child, and masterful in their art of teaching. The philosophy, mission, tone, vibe, personality, leadership, people, and overall general daily feeling of the school constantly proclaim and live what we most want our children to experience in their education: a deep joy of learning, a respect for others, a stewardship of their social and emotional well being, a commitment to the development of strong values, a guardianship of their natural environment, and a deliberate nurturing of their individuality and the diversity in those around them. MSNV is authentic montessori AND SO MUCH MORE...something we cannot imagine our children going without!

I have three kids and after all personally deeply believe in Montessory System. Unfortunately this school reject my child application after more than a year long to be on the waiting list! Question why? I got an Email which saysMy family does not suitable well for MSNV.This school usually get more applications and less available spaces. So they always choose which family and childreen are better for them for show off. Dont be fooled during your visit about super talented kids. They got them already educated from parents. They simply do not want any other kids in MSNV and usually denied them. Opposite from Maria Montessori who invented this methodology for children with simple or no abilities.I would like to add that in my case problem was not with the my child but with the parents /me and my husband / we told them about possible relocation of our family to another county /which did not happen / and my husband also told them about les support from his side due to many business trips. We simply told them the truth! It was piont to reject my child! MSNV force parents to lie! which I personally do not like.My advise if you would like to be accepted as soon as possible : lie, lie and lie. About everything. About your support, about you desire to keep child in the school till 6 grade, about super abilities of your child. About everything. Since it was the only one school we applied for it took about year and a hath /on the waiting list/to realized the truth about this school- too late.:( and from Montessori School of Northern Vorginia completely unfair to deney child after a year long of waiting.Your family can be the next.

Fabulous school! MSNV is a hidden gem. I had not heard of this school before moving near it, but we were lucky to get a spot mid-year in the pre-school program (2nd year primary for those who are familiar with Montessori). We have been thrilled. This is a truly exceptional school. In our experience, we couldnt be happier with the teachers, the administration, the facility, and the other families we have met. In fact, we were so pleased with our pre-school experience that we enrolled our daughter in the elementary age program. (And we had not intended this when we started there.)The teachers are incredibly dedicated, and truly caring. It is a wonderful community of families. There are two campuses (Falls Church and Annandale) and there is usually a wait list, but it is well worth the wait if you can get in. Its also relatively affordable, considering the high quality they are able to deliver. Highly recommended.

MSNV is the best kept secret in Virginia-- quite possibly in the country. Ive been an MSNV parent since 2000 when my daughter, now 15, began at MSNV. My son, now 5, is still there and we couldnt be more pleased with the incredible experiences we continue to have here.The nurturing and loving educational experience gave both of my children the critical foundation to be lifelong learners. They are curious, inquisitive, compassionate and respectful of self and others. They love to learn, they love to share and they love to deeply and completely experience life. My children are happy and joyful. I attribute so much of their positive childhood and development to the MSNV culture and environment. Ms. Jean and Ms. Rachel have been incredible role models for both of my children and have helped shape their lives, both academically and socially.
