Was decent when I went here. Recess was fun. Some friends of mine had issues with the administration, however.

My daughter has been attending the school for 2 years and we couldnt be happier. The faculty and teachers are warm, inviting and caring. They are always willing to help and answer any questions that may arise. The principal of the school has been more than willing to contact me at home when needed and has always been on top of everything going on at the school. She and the teachers have set the perfect environment for the children to learn and grow as individuals and my daughter loves going to school. Olive Chapel is a school of excellence and I am reminded of that every day that I am there. The school continues to be improved upon on all levels yearly and we are very happy. I cant wait for my other daughter to start next year. I do find it very sad and disappointing that someone would hide behind the computer to lay out their negativity about the school. If you truly have any issues with the school then act like a adult and go through the proper channels to resolve your issue. I invite anyone to visit our school. They wont be disappointed.

My kids have not even started at this school yet, but Im already afraid for them to go, because registration has been a NIGHTMARE. WE went 1 day and were told they only register on [the completely arbitrary] days T, W, Th, and only between 10a and 2p. My husband arrived at 1 the very next day, spent 35 minutes waiting because they registrar was in a meeting, and was then told that he needed to have all these extra forms filled out, despite our kids already being enrolled in a school in the same county and having had all their forms done.I called their current elementary school, and was told that was incorrect, and that If i brought her the proof of address for our new place, she could update it in the county system and it would automatically switch everything over to their new base school....if this school cant even get THIS basic stuff correct, or have the courtesy to inform someone what they need BEFORE we arrive...i shudder to think what kind of education they might be getting. And I was so happy about this new house too :(

Olive Chapel is an incredible school. With two of my three kids in attendance there, I could not ask for a more warming, family environment. Our kids are challenged on a daily level not only as students but to be respectful and friendly children. Anyone who visits Olive Chapel is likely to be greeted by the warm and friendly administration as well as our wonderful teachers walking the halls.I am saddened that someone would post such a horrid response to our school while NOT even attending and to criticize our teachers seems very childish and in poor judgement. Our administration and teachers work very hard for our children. Our school is continuously making improvements on a daily basis through new uses in technology as well as face to face. Just an example of this is when the bus nightmare was taking place, our Principal was one of the first in our area to TWEET out the buses on campus, when children were leaving and what buses were leaving campus.I am blessed to have my children as such a wonderful school. Come and check it out for yourself!! The doors are always open :)!

My kids have attended Olive Chapel Elementary since 2010 and it has been a great experience. I think the Administration has done a great job of improving security and implementing systems that have really improved the school.

The administration communication is nonexistent. Although they are great at letting you know all about their fund-raisers. The schools atmosphere is cold and unfriendly, partially due to Annie their receptionist. The teachers have been poor to fair, the worst appeared hung-over every day.

This school is amazing, I dont want to discredit the previous review from a mother having to enroll her child after moving, but I also was asked to provide an affadavit which wasnt a surprise at all because at their former school I had to provide one there. Im guessing it is a North Carolina law?I myself had a completely different experience with the school staff! My children and I suddenly moved ,literally over night, due to an emergency situation and my 5 and 7 year old suddenly ly were being thrust into changes and emotions, and having to begin a new school without warning was overwhelming. The staff was AMAZING! I have NEVER in my life seen so many peopLe (strangers basically) pull together to ease the transition for new students. My 7 year old took it a lot harder, and was very resistant about going to school! The principal, social worker, counselor, and teacher all pulled together to help gain her trust and assure her they were all there for her!My children have been in preschool and public school and I have NEVER witnessed school staff more attentive then at this school! I feel like our journey was all leading up for my children to end up here, because this school is amazing!!

I moved here from another state which I regret. I have never met people in my life so cold and rude towards enrolling your child into school. This is the base school for our address but the school is a 30 min drive so that is problem another issue is that its a year round school I dont even have the option to switch her to a traditional school but the school year already started weeks ago BUT they still wont accept her. I bought in all the required documentation for enrollment including the lease. I was told that since Im not the leaseholder and just an occupant on the lease that I could not get her enrolled without a notarized affidavit from the leaseholder stating that I live at the address because being an occupant is not a permanent address. So I went to the board they referred me to the Mckinney- Vento Liasion technically since Im considered homeless because I am not the leaseholder. Fast forward I speak with someone today told them the situation she says that since I AM an occupant that makes me a permanent resident of the address. So if that is the case why is it a problem to get my child enrolled in school? If your saying an occupant is a permanent resident even though they are not the leaseholder then why should I need an affidavit? They contradict what they are saying and give false information. The definition of occupant is as follows; a person who resides or is present in a house, vehicle, seat, place, etc., at a given time.synonyms:resident, inhabitant, owner, householder, tenant, renter, leaseholder, lesseeSo again why is it so difficult to get my child in school. I honestly feel like I was discriminated against because of my race. Both times I have tried to get her enrolled I was never greeted with a warm hello the social worker or whoever is in charge never properly introduced herself. It was just a very cold environment, lack of communication, and OBVIOUS discrimination. So with that being said I wouldnt feel comfortable for my child to attend this school. If they treat a new parent that comes in to enroll their child the way that I was treated I wouldnt dare trust my kid to be there alone all day with their staff. I thought a childs education is important and no one will be left behind but obviously its not true in the school system here in Wake County.
