We have been at StMM since 2010. Our three children have all been through the preschool program and are now in the elementary school, the middle school and one even just began in High School. We have enjoyed watching our children make life-long friends and grow close to Teachers, Coaches and support staff at StMM. This is our village and we couldnt do parenthood without the direction of praying, learning, and caring from the school.

We are new to St. Mary Magdalene this year. The experience for us has been incredible. The communication from the school has been good. Each week we get a newsletter from the school and teachers alike to know whats going on, as well as a call every Sunday with information for what is happening the week coming up. The new administration has been very energetic and seems to really know my kids. I constantly see pictures on the schools social media pages of things they are doing like retreats, reading to classes, and service projects. It is what I expect from a catholic school! My childrens teachers have been very caring and loving. I feel very safe and know they are at a great school. Overall, I could not be more pleased with the school. I read some of the negative comments, but am not seeing these things at all. I would recommend this school to any of my friends (and have!). I look forward to seeing my kids continuing to grow at this school for years to come.

I have been a student at this school since kindergarten and am currently in eighth grade. The atmosphere of the school is super welcoming and all of the teachers are kind and enthusiastic about teaching. I have never had any experiences of bullying at this school and all of the students are kind and inclusive. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a good education that you can have fun while getting!

I went here for 10 years. Grades pre-k 3 through 7 were amazing experiences. However, grade 8 is a nightmare, definitely the worst year of my life.

My experience here was awful. There’s so much bullying and just negative energy I couldn’t wait to get out of there. The kids are mean, the teachers are mean (except for some), everyone was just mean. Don’t waste your money on this :)

Have had a fantastic experience. We wanted a place that emphasized strong morals and values that was also a close-knit community with top-notch academics and we found it at STMM!

This school left me with an awful taste in my mouth. The communication after we applied was awful. The fourth grade teachers I met, when picking my son up from his shadowing were just rude and unprofessional. Then, I had to contact them repeatedly to find out the status of my application afterwards. Frankly, you couldn’t pay me to send my kids here. My advice to anyone thinking about this school is to try Thales (also in Apex) or drive to St. Michaels.

I was a student here from 2011-2013 and it was a horrible experience. the bullying situation is out of control and the kids in middle school are very nasty. i was treated horribly by some students. Some of the teachers are not good at all and just plain bad at teaching but think they are good. Do not send your kids here.

We have sent our two kids to school there, from pre-school to 8th grade. We have had nothing but a really good experience. Stmm provided all that we expected, from a enriching religious environment to a great solid academic school. I will admit that not all the teachers were great, but most of them were wonderful. The teachers showed their care for the students as individuals and were willing to work with the parents. As for the academics, I believe the students were very well prepared for High School. I would definitely recommend this school.

My great grandson went to St. Mary Magdalene in Apex, NC for preschool. It was not a good experience for him. The preschool teacher, Barbara Senn, does not have up to date teaching credentials and violated the schools fever policy. The Vice Principal of the School, Christa Iozzo, was very rude and unprofessional. There is a problem with bullying in the school. The school constantly asks for money and donations and will become angry if they do not get the money. The teaching practices are outdated. I do not recommend this school to anyone.

As of the 2014 STMM and the catholic dioceses of Raleigh has implemented the common core standards. As a parent of multiple students in the school I have seen it have a significant negative impact on the character and the effectiveness of the education. I have seen my children confused by the inconsistent content and fall behind in performance. I have held my tongue till now due in great part to the insistence by the teachers and staff that it was an improvement over the past methods and that once the wrinkles have been ironed out it will prove to be better. I am sorry but I will no longer stand by and let my children be guinea pigs in an unproven system when the previous worked so well. After applying at another private school and having our children placement tested, we have discovered that our children are so far behind that they might have to repeat their respective grades. The level of betrayal and anger at this is hard to express here in words. The teachers and staff however are all true believers despite evidence to the contrary.

This school has some good things but when you are paying alot of money in tuition you expect some of the negative things to not be present. In the 3-4 grades, there were kids that simply were not being taught like they should and the teacher told the parents that their kid needed tutors. From a parent that has been there since the beginning of this school, I was so angry when I came into the classroom one day and found the teacher surfing the internet. Three days earlier she told me my kid was behind and needed a home tudor.
