Newman has a great GT program and my child has loved attending NIAA since kindergarten. I love the strict uniforms for many reasons and they wind up being less expensive than buying a whole new back to school wardrobe every year.

This school has been a hit an miss for me and my peers. Some teachers here will give your children false failing grades on their assignments that they never got to take because they were in the hospital. Then they may or may not chose to look into it, and at that point you realize there is nothing you can do to fix the situation. Other teachers will care for your child like they are your own, but be cautious with this school, I would however suggest putting your child into a public school.

Went to this school for several years and it is by far the worst school I have ever attended. Public school is a much better option for your child. It is more safe, more organized, and there are programs that can teach your children the same morals as Newman claims to teach. The teachers are much better and there are much more opportunities for college and to grow as a person. Please do not send your child to this school

I have attended this school for years and years and years now, yes we have a few things we could fix... However the education is pretty good. I do end up with a teacher just about every year who is not very kind. But other than that this is a pretty gosh darn good school. I would most definitely encourage parents to send there children to Newman.

Great school! Just like any other school, company, or institution there are some areas that could embrace some improvement. Even the areas of improvement (dislike white shoes for the uniform requirements) do not take away from the integrity of the schools mission or vision. I am looking forward to seeing the campus grow, as my children are at the elementary levels and enjoy each day! Go Warriors!

This is our first year at Newman and we love it! The teachers and faculty are so caring and you can tell that they truly love the children. The principal is wonderful and works very hard for the school, you can see his dedication through the success of the students and teachers. My child is learning so much, he is reading, reciting history facts, speaking Spanish, and singing! the teachers really know how to teach these children im so thankful for the cedar hill campus, it is beautiful.

Nice people and most of the teachers are kind and good at their jobs. But the lunch food tastes like straight up piss. If you come here just bring your own lunch. The school is also very greedy, constantly coming up with new unfair ways to rob us students of our money. For example, one of my friends earned a special jacket for being on varsity track. But the school decided that even though they earned it, they aren’t allowed to wear it at school unless they pay 2 dollars on a Wednesday or Friday. And the jacket itself wasn’t free either. And then theres the final trip that costs $1,200 and you are REQUIRED to go on it if you want to graduate. Can’t afford it? Too bad. They don’t care.

Im sorry, but Id like to address something that has caught my attention. I would like to address the fact this school is really not all that bad. If you dont like the school dont take them here there is homeschooling. Some parents believe theyre child isnt being taught properly, well if you were to teach a class youd probably complain to. Yes, there are a lot of teachers everywhere that dont know what theyre doing. But there are also some really great ones. A lot of the believe it or not its the students. They have problems that they need to fix, but looking in the mirror sometimes really helps people who are having trouble understanding that no school is better than the other. Public, Charter, Private, etc. All the same just different curriculum. We will never have a perfect school, life, or world, but its good enough to know that your child is in a somewhat safe place and that you will get your child back by the end of the day and a lot the things that happen comes with home training some kids on how to act. Again if you dont like it homeschooling is always a suggestion instead of switching so many schools.

First year at NIAA almost down with two high school age boys and they are thriving. I have read the negative reviews and cannot believe they are talking about the same school. Our family and our boys have always been treated with utmost respect and the teachers have gone out of their way to help them in their studies. They do need to work more on organization but we are 100% happy with this school.

Im so disappointed with this school. You truly will be treated better in a public school. Anyone considering sending your kindergartener here next year, please dont. Especially not if you want to have fond memories and pictures of walking them into their classroom on their first day, because the school wont allow it.They restrict the young kids ability to express themselves too severely. There are no character back packs or lunch bags allowed-which my sons teacher quickly lost his school appropriate backpack on the first day and still has not found it. They specify every piece of clothing they can wear, all the way down to the color and style of their socks. On Spirit Friday, in order to participate, the child must pay $1 each time. While that may not seem like a big deal, I feel like it will single out the less affluent children. You even have to purchase a specified coat for them to wear to school when its cold. They even did a bait and switch. I toured their fielder campus when I signed my son up. He was ecstatic, they had an indoor playground and a nice lounge area for the parents to come have lunch with their children with moderate privacy. Upon acceptance, I realized they put us in a different campus that I hadnt viewed. While they may all be in churches, they are in no way comparable. All in all, we will be transferring to a new school as soon as possible. Hopefully I can help just one parent avoid making a $300 mistake by staying as far away from this school as possible.

We had a couple great teachers but as far as the school as a whole, there is a lot of room for improvement. Communication is terrible and the school is disorganized. It could be a good school if they would focus on improving in these areas but instead, they are focused on opening more and more campuses. I also found Newman to be a very stressful and demanding environment. Another thing that is an issue for me is that when you have questions you need answered, you go through the PSC (their PTA). Administration does not make themselves very available.

My two boys currently attend the elementary school, but will be going somewhere else starting January. We have been with this school for 3 years and it gets worse every year.We are former attenders of Fielder Road Baptist Church where the school is located; thats how we found out about it. They advertised the school as a Christian based charter school and when we had our interview with the principal our first year, we were told that it was a Christian based school, which is the only reason we applied. We were told that they would have chapel, Bible reading, and basically learn about God in addition to their regular education. However, none of that happened and we were recently told by the new assistant principal that its not a Christian based school. And believe me, it shows. The kids arent able to be kids, the teachers, and faculty are rude and disrespectful. They show favoritism towards the kids of the teachers, and kids of certain volunteers. And if you have a problem, you must go through a protocol, so that the principal will not be bothered. When you finally get to speak with her, she will call you a liar to your face and say that they dont do anything wrong, because they took a pay cut to work at the school. Besides that, all they care about is money. If they know you are affluent, then and only then, will you be treated with respect. Not to mention they are very unorganized.

As we speak I attend at this school, but if it wasn’t for my situation at home I been would’ve left a long time ago. Don’t attend it if your looking for a place to actually and academically learn. It is very unorganized and make very unfair useless rules, steal your money, and the staff are overprotective. Only reason I’m even giving a star is because of SOME not all of the people here are actually the most genuine people you’ll ever meet.

I am a parent of a former student at newman most people here are angry parents staff that used to work at newman or students using fake accounts not to get caught ....... Parents i suggest not to let your child go here for many reasons honestly the school is so bad and cheap to be hionest they ask you for money because they dont get paid by the state SOME of the teachers at newman really do deserve better pay but half of the teachers hate their job so much they blame it on students who are completly innocent and completley bias they can like one student but hate one other for no complete reason honestly i have seen this happen their lunch meals are horrible it seems like dog food but even if you give it to your it will DIE!!!!!! and no i am not over exagerating this it is most completly horrid your children will starve because they will not eat the food and if they dont eat the food some lunch monitors will force them to i have seen this. ohh and dont even get me started about the uniforms really atrocious quite really honestly made with the cheapest material but expensive for nothing and they really have a problem with jackets you can not where any other jacket besides a newman jacket they do not care if your child is frezezing or not they will make them remove a non newman jacket honestly and their thing against character backpacks youve already restricted much of their creativity like whats the big problem if you have one. the dress code is utterly stupid it comes down to the length and coolor of your sock what imbassels are these people it so cheap it cannot aford its own building until 7 years later because the church where they are staying at got so mad they kicked the whole high school out of its building and they have this thing called pow wow so if you usted to be on the other side of the street because of another building kept for middle school you had to walk across the street but now u have to walk across the street for special events like we should be learning instead walking across dangerous streets but honestly dont send your child here they hired a pedophile to be in charge of little children he is an old man who stares at young girls in such ways that disgust me my little daughter who is 8 years old told me this and if you see mybad spelling and gramar that is what newman taught me NOTHING! when my son was in the fourth grade at newman theyfailed the math staar so bad they had to have two math classess in the fifth grade honestly their food is so bad you find hair and plastic in it and most of the milk is already expired and they tell you its okay to drink if i could put no stars i would honestly your child children honestly deserve better trust me my child came home crying one day because a teacher threatened here an d said she would get a ruler and whip her with it DO not i reapet do not send your child at newman

Great, some might say that NIA is tough. But life is tough and I believe the new generation needs to be exposed to it. The rules and guidelines with the school are very reasonable. My daughter 1st started in public school and the district was absolutely terribly. NIA is a huge blessing to my family. Yes the communication between the campuses schools could be better (PSC), but in all NIA is amazing. #NICH

WORST school in the DFW metroplex. Parents beware!!! You and your children will get better treatment in regular public schools. Most of the teachers in this school have high anxiety level and it gets worse every year. They are inside a church building but the mentality and attitude of the staff members defiles being in a church building. There are very many charter school in the area that are truly commited to ensuring the success of your child. Please consider other great schools Uplift, Harmony, Arlington Classic Academy, International Leadership or any other regular public school before considering this so called school.

I can say I had about enough of this school. We are planning to move at the end of February, and the school I was going to put my kids into is not where I eventually want to move (moving to HEB district). So, unfortunately, they will need to stay one more year. I have a 3rd grader and a 6th grader right now, and Im not impressed with this school. We have been here for 3 years now (my oldest), and this is my youngest 2nd year. My 6th grader lost their math teacher mid February and they are literally getting a new math teacher this week....school is just about over!! They have had no math instruction since then, and they expect them to take a STAAR???? Seriously!!!. My 3rd grader had a rough year last year, didnt care for her teacher at all. This year is ehhh....I dont see a lot of outside opportunities for the students to shine besides the science fair and talent show. I see way more opportunities of things in public school than this school. I like a well rounded education, but I dont see a lot of it here. I hope 7th grade is a whole lot different....

My grandkids started at the Cedar Hill campus last week. Every 1 star rating is absolutely correct. Kids must bring their own lunch because lunch facilities are not complete, not sure if they even have complete staffing, not sure when they will be serving lunch (werent told this @ orientation in early August), handful of teachers are good, others are horrible; teachers are complaining about classroom facilities being incomplete, difficulties in reaching school or teachers by phone, campus security concerns, difficulties reaching other campuses by phone. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD HERE. I encourage every parent to visit during school hours so you can verify that what Im telling you is correct. I actually felt a chill walking down hallways. A/C issues at school. This is an expensive lesson. What was represented to us was very misleading & incorrect. This is ridiculous.
