Classically historic campus. 100+ year old buildings some recently renovated with others planned for renovation. The state of Alabama is blessed with older historic colleges and this one is exception.

No matter whats going on with my day if I happen to drive by the campus it has a calming effect, a certain serenity that is conveyed by its stately structures and beautiful trees and landscaped acreage

Pranksters. I visited friends at the dorm who were attending school there. They were a lot of fun to hang out with. They were a little crazy but isnt everybody.

CIS Major heres my take: Meh. Its a get what you pay for situation. There are like 3 teachers in the upper level courses and one of them will hand out 0s for not putting your name in 500 places and the other will assign work so hard it makes it impossible to do any other class work. As far as the third one I think hes alright but overall I feel like Im learning a lot through good ol practice and maybe thats a good thing but theres some areas that they fall flat in and that Ive seen done better at a community college like student services and stuff but if all you care about is cheap and effective learning and getting out in the job field I guess go here. Its neither excited and fun nor is it excessively hard.

The Best University in the World!

Its a pretty good school. Unlike many other places the teachers generally care about you as a study and want you to do well. And the staff is very efficient at getting things processed in a timely matter.The only thing I do not care for about the school is that it lacks any type of young student presence but if you are just looking for a reasonable education with convenient schedules its a great choice.

Athens is a great university. The faculty is great. A lot of them do their best to help you succeed, and love to use outside sources in their teaching to get a real world feel and prepare you for your future. The only issue is the very low amount of student activities. This is mainly due to them not having sporting teams, and to because they have a lot of distant learning students. Their positives out weigh there negatives greatly though.

I returned to college after more than twenty years. I was very nervous about being able to complete my dream of a degree. Athens State University was definitely the best option for me. The small school atmosphere and attention shown from professors was the greatest I have seen. The amount of knowledge I gained has me prepared to face the job market. I completed the teacher certification program online. I learned a lot and didnt have any issues with professors, financial aid, etc. It was a smooth and inexpensive experience.

I tried to call the Admissions Office to get more information about their Business Administration program for the Bachelors Degree and the woman I spoke to was very rude and she treat me right. She kept overtalking me and when I ask her questions about the program she seemed like she was losing her patience and she refused to give me her name nor I had a tough time trying to find out what department they switch me over to so confusing I would never attend to a college that is confusing and treats you like you aint nothing sad!

Good friends attended ASU and for that I have great affection for the school.

Returning to Athens for a quick visit. Graduated in 1970 and had a great career due in large part to my Athens education

Great place to continue your education and the campus is beautiful. There are many degree options and classes have many options to accomplish there completion.

I had an excellent experience as a student of the Business College at Athens State Majoring in HR. I was able to transfer my credits from Calhoun Community College without issue and completed my Bachelors degree (with the motivation of some life-changing mentors) in 2 years and 1 semester.
