Very nice people! I like the offices and they are well stocked with computers and card readers for convenience. Great flight school and plane rental!

The owner and staff are the nicest people and one of few places to rent a Cirrus SR22, (see photo). They also have the most flexible daily rental policy. Great instructors there as well and you can learn to fly in low wing Pipers, or high wing Cessna’s. I have been a customer since 2012 and won’t go anywhere else.

I have been doing flight lessons at Skybound Aviation for over 5 months now, and I am pleased to say that my experience has been nothing short of extremely wonderful and amazing. The CFIs are all both very friendly and professional. Plus, you will learn a lot of interesting and valuable concepts through each and every flight lesson. The rental prices here are the most reasonably priced, as compared to all other flight schools. If you are looking for flexible, productive, and most of all, fun flight training, I strongly suggest you do it here at Skybound. You will not regret it.

I started with this company over a year ago. I would HIGHLY recommend choosing any other school but this one. Between the never ending problems with their dated fleet this will be a miserable experience. Its sad because some of their instructors are great.Sometimes you will show up for a flight and find out the plane has been in maintenance for the last 3 days. Sometimes they will ask you to call before you come to check if the plane is out of maintenance. They tell you yes and when you get there they tell you sorry its another few days. No call no e-mail.Without a doubt this is the most poorly run business I have ever worked with. Some of the reviews on here are by instructors or airplane owners. Their reviews are self motivated. Do your homework.

I have recently received my private pilots license and am now training to get my IFR rating. Ive been flying with SkyBound for about 2 years now and have been really happy with them every step of the way. Great times in the air with their instructors. The instructors, planes and owner of this flight school are all superb! I received my private pilot certificate there and was a renter afterwards. I would go back for instrument training if I still lived in the area. I love my flight school!

Im currently working on my PPL. Thus far, the environment is calm and friendly and the staff will go out of their way to help you with any questions that you may have at the moment. The prices are reasonable and are comparable to other flight schools. What I think gives Skybound Aviation an edge is that you can flex your schedule and there is always a plane to rent. The only drawback is that unless your doing a cross-country flight, they prefer to limit your flight rental time to no more than three (3) hours at a time. Asides from that, I would recommend this school to a friend or family member.

I did my flight training at Skybound Aviation and now continue to rent from them. They are an excellent group of people who are dedicated to training great pilots. Their prices are very reasonable, and their aircraft are well-maintained. For anyone in the Atlanta area looking to do their training, I would HIGHLY recommend Skybound.

Ive rented here for a year. They are organized and keep their aircraft in good, safe condition.

Easily the best flight school at PDK. Professionally run and managed, but not too large that the services offered are impersonal.

I have found no better place in Atlanta that does all the thing that they do at Skybound. They are always working hard to improve the way things are done and keep on top of advancing technology in the industry! When I walk in the door, there is no less than three instructors willing to answer any questions and help me get on my way. Throughout my training, I know I could count on Skybound for every hurdle and looking back, I would do it the same way again.

It is difficult for me to write a review to this business. RECENTLY they have had one hell of a time keeping their 172 fleet up and running, and I have had to fly their nasty 172 N3558E. Most of their Cessna fleet is GREAT! N73924 is the aircraft I fly most often and I find that a good deal for what you get. Fully equipped with Garmin 430gps. If anyone out there is a TOMATO FLAMES stickler, GOOD LUCK WITH SKYBOUND! 98% of the time one of the fuel gauges is erratic, and or never works at all. I cant speak for their piper fleet, for I fly Cessnas and Cessnas only!STAFF:Their staff is fantastic! My primary flight instructor Kerwin Day, has been FANTASTIC! Many of the other flight instructors are great! Most of them tend to hang around the store, almost like a club. It adds a sense of community involvement.SCHEDULING:Well RECENTLY most of their Cessnas have been down for maintenance. This is one huge pain. What you have is 2 out of the 3 down. One is getting over flown therefore having the 100hr faster and faster. Some people are on there and scheduling VFR flights more than 3hr. Being a student this is very difficult for me to get a simple 2hr reservation. If you want a FAIRLY predictable time slot, SCHEDULE AT LEAST 2 WEEKS AHEAD! If you are flying during the weekends I would suggest even longer. maybe 3 weeks.PRICES:Their prices are quite comparable to other flight schools for aircraft rental. Instruction, now, that is a different story! $60 an hour! I find that to be the most expensive in that area. BUT THEYRE GOOD INSTRUCTORS!OVERALL OPINION:Good flight school, good instructors, bad aircraft. Prices a little too high for instruction . Slow maintenance. Well equipped aircraft.HOPE THIS HELPS!Skybound Customer

I have tried many of the schools around the PDK area and I finally found the top quality and flexibility I needed to get my private pilot’s license. The instructors are very knowledgeable and skilled. I studied with the CFI - Michael ONeal. He was a very good instructor, but tough! However I believe that I am a better / safer pilot as a result. Safety is first when it comes to flying and that is a the mantra around this place. The fleet of aircraft at Skybound also has a very good variety. High wing, low wing they have it all and their wet prices are often better than smaller planes at other FBOs around PDK (ex: a 172sp at Skybound is $140 wet, a 162 at AF is $140 wet - does that even make sense?) Best of luck...trust me from firsthand experience...Flying WILL change your life!

I began with Skybound on my first flight in an LSA through roughly 60 hour mark, flying various Cessna 172s, including my first solo and lots of pattern work.In my previous experience, a lot of flight schools are known for their sometimes intimidating instructors who use the school as a way to build hours towards their next gig, and for being run by people with few business skills. The downfall is often a failure to communicate with students enough to make them feel a part of the schools culture. This is definitely not the case at Skybound. Evanthia runs a pretty tight ship, and shes a great communicator, using email and social media to make all of the schools students feel like theyre part of a team. The instructors are all highly experienced, and most of them do this full time. I trained primarily with Kerwin Day, who has racked up some crazy number like 17,000 hours, and not at an airline or in the military -- this is almost all as a private instructor! The school has a great location at Peachtree DeKalb Airport, Georgias second busiest. I found KPDK hectic enough to teach me how to deal with lots of traffic, busy (but very, very friendly) ATC who understand that Id like to depart and stay in the pattern means Im a student, please be patient with me! KPDK also taught me parallel runway approaches, dealing with fast jets in the pattern, and multi-tasking constantly. But KPDK is still small enough to feel like a community.Skybound has fantastic parking spots right in front of the tower and the Downwind restaurant. The fleet is varied and fairly reliable. It includes high wing and low wing aircraft, and you can choose from older planes with simple steam gauges, right on up to brand new glass panel beauties. I mainly flew N78253, a Cessna 172K built in 1968. Yes, shes old and shes basic, but she is also reliable and solid. A joy to fly.I would recommend Skybound to any new student who shares our passion for flight, whether youre ready for your first discovery flight, or if you had a bad experience somewhere else. The Skybound team is very friendly, and their instructors put safety first. I look forward to flying with Kerwin again!
