We had heard from friends in the area that IPCP was a terrific school and that everyone was super happy about their childrens experience there. Our oldest child has been attending for 2 years now and we couldnt be happier with the school. One of the best aspects of the school is that you get to be involved with so many aspects of what your child experiences on a daily basis. The teachers are really great and we cant recommend the school highly enough.

Our daughter has been at IPCP for two years. The nature-base curriculum helps her safely explore and grow -- weve even made a mud kitchen, a pallet house, and veg patches at home because she loves them so much. Its the perfect place for our conscious discipline family, and the school provides workshops and parent communities to help with conscious discipline training. The teachers are creative, nurturing, and attentive. The co-op program offers opportunities for parents to be involved in curriculum and fund development, buildings and grounds improvements, and events planning. Parent helper days rock! Its such a treat to get to spend time with her in the outdoor classroom and watch her interact with her friends. I cant imagine a better place for her to spend her preschool years.

We chose this school specifically for the emphasis on being outside in nature for the majority of the school day. We love the fact that our sons can explore the outdoors in a park-like setting, not simply by running around on a playground (which they do), but also by planting edibles, inspecting bugs, jumping in hay, and splashing in mud puddles. They love having free play opportunities outside where they can create their own games and adventures. This school is a perfect fit for our sons and our family, and I am so thankful that we found this gem in the city!

Cant say enough good things about IPCP. Both of my kids attend this school. Conscious Discipline (if you dont know it, google it) and play based curriculum are wonderful parts of this school. I can see my children flourish as they grow into amazing little people.

IPCP has been just what our kiddos and family needed for an early childhood learning experience. We have become part of a great community of local families and our kiddos have been immersed in a caring, play-based learning, outdoor environment. The teachers and staff deeply care for our children, and we couldn’t be happier. The Conscious Discipline approach the school lives by has helped our kiddos, and us as parents, tremendously- we all have skills we didn’t have before that will serve us well as we march forward in life!

I find it pretty interesting that they do interviews and take application fees when they have full knowledge that they do not have space in the classrooms or even on the wait list. There are other much more transparent and open preschools in the area.

IPCP has changed our family. We felt at home as soon as we walked in and our son has thrived here. The emphasis on nature and play-based learning were important to us when selecting a preschool, and the celebration of each childs individuality and sense of community among the parents make this school the magical place it is.

IPCP provides exactly what every young child needs; a chance to have fun and be a kid in a stimulating and educational environment. One of the biggest draws for us was the fact that half of their day is spent outside, in the outdoor playground and the spacious outdoor classroom. Our 3.5 year-old settled in immediately, and has so much fun each day, she usually asks if she can keep playing a bit longer with her new friends when it’s time to go home. All of the staff is wonderful, and we really love the cooperative aspect, giving my wife and I a chance to get involved and be a part of our child’s preschool experience. IPCP is by far the best preschool our family has ever been a part of.

My daughter has attended IPCP for 2 years now. Her social and emotional development over this period has been a joy to watch. As a cooperative, I love the opportunity parents have to work together in shaping the culture and direction of the school. If you’re looking for a community-based preschool that provides and encourages parent engagement and involvement, I highly recommend putting IPCP on your shortlist.

Using a nature based curriculum and a practice of problem solving to foster good decision making, this school does an incredible job of fostering the whole child-social, emotional, intellectual. IPCP provides and excellent care and education to children. And they also offer before and after care from 8-5!

Our 3.5 year old attends Inman Park Cooperative Preschool (IPCP), and we really love it. Since its a coop, we [the parents] have the opportunity to attend a few times a year as parent helpers, assisting the teachers throughout the day. This model allows parents to really get to know the teachers and the other kids and gives you a window into your childs world. Between parent helper days and other school-related activities (building and grounds days, fundraisers, etc.) you really get to know the other families. We love the sense of community the school creates. There is an indoor classroom where students do lots of different activities (songs, art, etc.). The kids also spend half of each day outdoors (in the big OC - the big outdoor classroom). The school uses a play-based learning method that allows the teachers to help them progress and learn new skills while leaving room for exploration and discovery.IPCP follows a framework called conscious discipline that focuses on connecting with kids and helping to teach self regulation, rather than just policing behavior. They recently offered a workshop for parents to help provide insight into this philosophy - another way for parents to connect to each other, their kids, and the school. (I always thought it was strange that hospitals offer all those classes about taking care of a newborn, but after that, parent training and workshops arent readily available - like its so easy and straightforward after the newborn stage is over...)Were very happy with IPCP and look forward to continuing to participate in the school and grow in the community.

Inman Park Co-Op or (IPCP as we call it) has been home for our Son since the first minute he walked in the door. We started at IPCP just after he turned 2, and will remain until he is ready for Kindergarten. When our Son was 1 we tried 3 other schools in the first year, and did not find a good fit. They were either just learning based and all day, to nature based with very little learning and no after care flexibility, or just daycare with not curriculum at all. IPCP is the best of what a Preschool has to offer. Nature based curriculum, outstanding staff, flexibility in after and before care, and an outstanding community of involved parents. IPCP is truly a family.
