Our neighbors attended MIT for years and always spoke so highly of it. When we were ready to send our daughter to school, we were so excited to hear that MIT had moved its campus closer to our house. We were nervous about her adjustment to being in school since she was a COVID baby, but the transition was simple and she loves it here! The staff is friendly and helpful, and its obvious they care about our child and her growth. The administration is responsive and helpful and ready to address any of our needs. We could not be happier! Our daughter likes it so much we will be switching from half-day to full-day soon.

My son started attending Montessori In Town when he was 15 months old, and we immediately fell in love! He is 4.5 now and loves all of his teachers and classmates, as does his younger sister who just joined the toddler class. The teachers and staff are all very communicative and warm. We have had nothing but positive, loving experiences with everyone at this school and are so thankful. You can really tell they care deeply about each and every student.

Today my daughter returned home and used a especially vulgar word (starts with a p) to refer to her body part.I reported this to the school since we don’t use these words at home and she only interacts with other children and adults here (due to covid). The school kicked my daughter out with a three days notice and that’s a HUGE issue.I’m now terrified that there may actual be more to this. Please look elsewhere for quality schooling. This place may not be a safe place for your child and the school will not investigate or entertain anything that should be a equal reason for concern to them too.She also mentioned to me that word “whoop” another word we don’t use at home. I didn’t think anything of it till I put two and two together...Two weeks ago, my daughter told me “her teacher pinched her” and I was then told otherwise by the school. I originally didn’t see any issue for concern after the teacher explained it was likely a mistake. But now, I’m worried that this school may be allowing problematic issues to occur based on their initial response to kick my well behaved daughter out after she expressed what could have been inappropriate touching or words said at this school.I will continue to advocate for my daughters safety and you should do the same. This school is not a safe place.I posted the email exchange fromThe head of the school. The conflicts she is referring to us when we reported last week that a teacher had pinched our child, which our child shared with us when she returned home from school.

I want to preface by saying that I did a lot of research in order to select a pre-school for my daughters. I toured almost 10 different schools/daycares intown with different approaches to childhood education, and from my perspective Montessori Intown offers one of the best personalized education options in Atlanta, and the results speak for themselves.1) My daughters absolutely love this place. My older daughter attended Montessori Intown for almost 4 years and now my 2 year old has started attending this school and she always looks forward to going to school.2) If you don’t know about the Montessori methodology, it’s all about letting the child choose their own learning journey, which helps them build a strong foundation of independence, self confidence and a sense of accomplishment. I can go on and on about this, but let’s just say that my child at 20 months was potty trained and she would wake up in the middle of the night on her own to go potty without asking for help. Why? Because she trusted herself that she knew how to go potty and just did it! Another example is when we were getting ready to go on a trip, and while I was frantically packing, she (at 4 y/o) decided to go to the kitchen and pack her own snacks without me asking her to help me. I have so many examples like this where my daughter has just taken initiative on her own to do things for herself trusting her abilities.3) My daughter who now goes to public school has developed a great sense of curiosity which has been nurtured by the wonderful teachers she has had at Montessori Intown. Why does this matter? Curiosity in kids is basically what fuels their motivation for learning! For example, we love traveling and Miss Clarissa helped her learn about the places we visited on the map! My daughter also loves rocks and I can’t tell you how many names of rocks she knows just from her teacher (thank you Miss Clarissa!) nurturing her interests. Now this curiosity has translated into wanting to learn how to read, do math and more. How awesome is that my daughter is motivated to learn more and more?4) The environment that the school provides is a peaceful, respectful and kind community for kids (and parents) that will make your heart melt. Example, one times I said aloud ‘I hate rain’ and my daughter corrected me and said that hate is a very strong word and that I should use ‘I don’t like’ instead.5) Augusta (Director), staff and teachers are truly invested in the children, and their learning journey. They embody Maria Montessori’s teachings which has taught me how to better support my child in her development and her individual interests.Having been part of this school for the last 5 years, I can’t recommend this school enough as an option for strong consideration for you and your family.

All 3 of my kids go to this school and I couldnt be more pleased. The teachers, faculty, and families are incredible, and a Montessori education is opening doors they would never have otherwise. My kids are so different from each other, so I never thought the same school would suit all 3 of them. I now see how Montessori schools accommodate all learning styles and personalities, and this one is fantastic.

A school that still allows children to totally relish in being a child while allowing parents to grow and mature too. Love and community are truly the hallmarks of M.I.T. Our daughter loves it!

Both our kids attend Montessori In Town and we are very happy here. All the focus is on the children as it should be. It is a small but growing school that covers toddler through elementary level (toddler through 6th grade). Currently around 125 students are enrolled. Both our daughters make exceptional academic and personal progress. Staff is very engaged, committed and responsive. Very passionate about Maria Montessoris approach of teaching and learning. Reasonable private school tuition. Great lunch program with GF, vegan and vegetarian options. Any issues or concerns are promptly addressed by the administration. The best choice in the area for us!
