This place is the reason I know the Lord in such a real way today! Very thankful for people who care and invest time in me to help me become who I was made to be. I am not anything like I was when I came and that is a good thing. There’s no place that is perfect, and I recognize that as long as a place has people, it will have it’s humanity. That’s anywhere though, and I’m glad there are leaders who are willing to be open about their humanity and work to become better and more like Christ.

I just want to give the Atlanta School of Ministry a faint thank you for helping me become the man I am today and also for everything they have taught me. They really put a lot of time into teaching their students a lot about the Bible, truth, and how to reach outside the four walls of the church! They cultivate the five folds of ministry but they really exceed with those who want to go to the mission field or evangelize. They have really cool opportunities that a lot of schools can’t or don’t offer. Before I left and after I have been offered so many positions and jobs because of the training and experience they placed me in. I am very thankful for my ASOM family!

I attended the Atlanta School of Ministry from September 2014- June 2017. I had such an amazing time there. I learned more about God and my relationship with Him. I still use the knowledge I learned there today! Attending the school helped grow and stretch my walk with the Lord. I would not be where I am today without the Atlanta School of Ministry and the amazing staff there! The staff are friendly and loving. They always lead with excellence. Pastor Dan Palmer is an amazing leader. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He leads by example. He walks alongside you and loves you through your mess. He has been a great example in my life and an awesome person to look up to. He is after Gods heart and always points those around him to the Lord. 10 out of 10 I highly recommend!!!

I attended the Atlanta School of Ministry from Jan. 2020 to July 2021. I responded to God’s call to attend the school in March of 2019 after attending a mission trip to the Atlanta Dream Center. While being a student at ASOM I was given many opportunities to serve the community through different outreach. I have learned a lot about God and the Kingdom, as well as have had opportunities to share the Gospel with others.

I went to the school 2011-2013. A lot has changed, I have been on staff 2017-present and this place succeeds in loving the young adults who come to either spend a gap year or want to pursue some type of pastoral ministry. I love ASOM! It’s an incredible place! I have family here and we are impacting the inner-city of Atlanta in the coolest ways! Check us out! 🧡🧡

I attended the Atlanta school of ministry from 2015 to 2017 and finished their excellent program. My time at ASOM helped mold me into the man I am today. I learned and grew so much, made life-long friends , and gained valuable experience that later led me to become a full time Associate pastor at my current church. The pastors and leadership of the school were always professional and helped me whenever I needed it. I respect and fully trust Pastor Dan Palmer, along with all the other staff, with the education and training of young missionaries/students. The Atlanta school of ministry has been and continues to to be a ministry of excellence. Only God knows the impact they have made for the kingdom of God over the years. Thank you Asom for everything you do!

I’ve had the pleasure of working along side of Pastor Dan Palmer (Founder) and Elyssia Pribble (Operations Director) for almost 7 years. (to present day) During that time I’ve taught various classes, once a week for about 3/4 of the school year, every year prior to COVID. (Classes have been restructured since COVID)This ministry school provides a great mixture of classroom instruction and hands-on training for those interested in various aspects of ministry by providing multiple opportunities from ministry travel teams, the arts, worship, feeding the homeless, ministering to and rescuing those involved in sex trafficking, at risk children, inner city missions and outreach, international mission trips, internships and other opportunities. It’s been very rewarding to me as an instructor at the school to see students grow spiritually and develop into their calling. I consider it a blessing to play a part by investing in them along their journey.

I attended the school for two and a half years, in the duration of my time there a lot of things happened. I learn to love God, I learn how to pursue Him and to choose Him even when things weren’t ideal or circumstances were hard. ASOM is a human run school, meaning that the people in charge will make mistakes and will say do things imperfectly. I don’t think that anyone should be held to who they were years ago. There is plenty of mercy and grace for people to accept, learn and grow from there mistakes.I went to ASOM because I answered the call of Jesus to go there and Jesus changed my life while I was there. When I was there I learned quickly that the Gospel doesn’t fit my life and it never will or it isn’t the Gospel. Choosing to pursue Jesus costs everything and it’s a hard choice to make.

A lot of spiritual abuse, and emotional abuse from people there. I spent three years of my life there “learning the kingdom of God” and am now on year seven of trying to heal. My relationship with God has never been the same because of all the hurt and bitterness this place has caused me.Just know, if you decide to be apart of this place: you must have at least 10 years to undo all the brainwashing and hurt they will cause you!

So much spiritual and emotional abuse and yes this place is a cult. I was told that finding a psychologist was not necessary because god will take care of everything as long as I believe he could and painted taking anti depressants or any drugs related to mental health in the worst light almost shaming anyone who would take them and no one was willing to listen to what I really needed which was therapy not just a couple counseling sessions with one of the teachers and frankly I am still healing from that after having left 5 years ago. We all lived in the same building with each other so we had no escape from anyone or the teachings in the school there of and we were not allowed to live any where else, claiming that it was like college dorms, which no it wasnt, pushing 4 girls in to one room is not like college dorms. We were constantly told that god will take care of our finances (and everything else) when in reality we had to work, Only the jobs they said were ok through the school, for 12-14 hour shifts completely depriving us of sleep expecting us to learn about the Kingdom of God and do ministry the next day. Completely taking advantage of the fact that most of us were completely broke, not allowing us to work our own jobs like normal college students do to pay, not teaching us any life skills and frankly claiming to be an accredited school then turning around and saying they are not and you could will extra classes for money no one had at another school which was also okay-ed by the ledership. I have heard of so many other stories of other kinds of abuse from other former students that I will never recommend this place to anyone EVER ,please if you love your self get away from this place!

This place is a cult. Physical, spiritual, and emotional abuse disguised as ministry training. While Im thankful for a few of the relationships I built here, I would absolutely not recommend.

The three years I spent at the Atlanta School of Ministry consisted of an exhausting and perpetual cycle of self-deprecation, manipulation, and over-commitment to a ministry that uses people like cogs in a machine. I watched as my friends and classmates were silenced, pulled into hushed meetings behind closed doors simply for exploring different streams of theological thought. I watched as some of them were sent home to “work out their” issues alone and was personally disappointed to hear that the long distance support promised to them fell through thereby furthering the issue. I was devastated to discover that the people and systems I had put my trust in were the cause of such heartbreak. That is when I started to see the so-called “school” for what it truly was; a trainwreck run on hyper-spiritual fuel leaving an increasing number of condemned, wounded, and misunderstood people it’s wake. This organization continues to lack accountability and responsibility in addressing these issues, so I post this as a warning in hopes of preventing another person from experiencing the same pain. Only giving two stars for the friendships formed with others that left and the solidarity we now share because of our experiences.

10/10 doesn’t recommend the spiritual and emotional abuse of this place. Find an accredited ministry school if that’s what you’re trying to pursue.

The emotional and physical abuse disguised as ministry training here is disgusting. I spent 7 months at the school and I’m still healing, 6 years later. The actions of the Pastors and those who follow are an embarrassment to the church body as a whole.

ASOM is one of the few Christian Education Institutions that is teaching the Kingdom of God EFFECTIVELY. I recommend it to anyone who is serious about seeking the Kingdom of God, and furthering their Education in Ministry. It is free from RELIGION....
