Went in with two buddies, none of us had BJJ experience and were still able to learn from both the instructor, and the other students in the class. Everyone is so nice here, from the staff that help organize to bring you in, to the instructors that teach, and to the other students learning. While I came with two friends, Id recommend this gym to anyone who is thinking about joining a gym solo. This community will welcome you with open arms!

This gym is reasonably priced and extremely friendly to new comers. I couldnt recommend this gym enough. They pay attention to new students but have a group of savages that dominate without injuring newbies. You have a wide variety of higher belts to roll with but there are plenty of fresh faces. If you want to get serious or if youre just trying out something new this is the gym to try for sure.

It is very easy for beginners to pick up the advanced techniques as the instructors go into deep detail for it. People were friendly and there is hardly any egos in the gym. My friend Noufal El Kasri introduced me to this Gym.Are you like me, missing that childhood dream of becoming Mohamed Ali, Prince Naseem, or Mike Tyson, or simply, just wanting to look sharp at the summer shores, which is also me. Or maybe you just want to hang around good people, surprisingly me again. Maybe just want to defend yourself which is not me, I was a trouble maker so sports calmed and disciplined me at 5 years old and made me learn how to contain rather than escalate situations. Parents got tired of that skinny young super hyper kid running around everywhere so they handed me to a boxing Coach. That was me young, now am a respectful professional individual. If you are a parent and have that kid call my parents for an advice 😂 remember it will be an international call so it costs more 😛 spare that and take your kid to the gym.Well, you found your lost prize friend. No matter what your goal is and what age you are, this is home for many of us, a safe home to run from all the stress and troubles of life.Friendly, professional, encouraging, and inspiring individuals from all over the states and the world. Great and welcoming staff and professors. I pay the monthly fee happily cuz it is worth every penny and they probably are tired of how many times I attend 😂These guys are very humble and highly motivational.Thank You High Altitude and Elevation Team for the great experience.I promise this isn’t a paid advertisement. They simply gave me a great service and sometimes hand candy at the door, could be considered a bribe 😂Keep up the hard work amigos you are changing many lives to the better.

But in my 5 years of fighting this is definitely the best gym I have been to. I will continue to train here for many years to come.

My daughters girl scout troop went to a self-defense class at High Altitude Martial Arts and I literally cannot even describe how great it was. All the girls were engaged and loving every moment of the class and my daughter even practiced what she learned the whole rest of the evening! They taught them effective methods for when/if they are ever bullied and emphasized that physically protecting yourself is important but the last option. I also really loved that all the coaches were strong and empowered women.

Took me a whole month to decide to call and schedule a free class, Im happy I did because now I dont see myself without training here. Ive been a student for 6 months (started in July), I would recommend the classes to anyone who wants to get outside their comfort zone. The classes really test your mental and physical capacity but theyre also really fun! The coaches are accommodating to all levels of students, they teach at a pace where anyone can learn, the coaches at HAMA all want their students to succeed. You also get to partner with all types of people from all walks of life which is pretty awesome. I will be a student here as long as my body allows me to.

My husband and boys have been going to HAMA for almost 2 yrs and absolutely love it. I tried a kickboxing class shortly after they started but I just couldn’t commit. After months of sitting at the gym while now even my daughter takes classes, I had to just sign up and commit to coming. Of course when you start anything new you feel awkward and aren’t really sure what your doing, but the coaches are great and really take the extra time to help you learn the proper techniques. If your looking for a good workout or a even just a fun class to meet new people and get out of your comfort zone, you should definitely try a class.

I only started training because my little brothers had been training and the old manager had convinced me to try it out. I was kinda nervous but the coaches and everyone else who’d train with me were/are very welcoming and teach you a lot. I learn more and more each time I go (which isn’t very often since I don’t live in Colorado full time). But I can say that I do get very excited going when I am able to go. It’s a lot to learn, kinda difficult but if you need the extra help, the coaches are more than happy to re-explain the steps to you

Have you ever had literally everyone around you tell you that you couldn’t accomplish something because you are too old or too fat? You had that gut feeling or God or some higher power pushing you to do it, you put it off and put it off for far too long. That happened to me till about two days ago I pushed aside everyones doubts and trusted my God ( for non religious brothers and sisters “the gut feeling”) . I am 31 years old lived in Brasil for 3 1/2 years learned portugese but have 0 AND I MEAN 0 grappling/ brazilian jiu jitsu/ striking experience but now I see why God brought me here, theese are the best classes. I have only been to one other academy one day and it was my good friend growing up John Machado his dad owned one in Cali. It was an amazing gym but I was lazy we were taught some moves that i can’t remeber but loved my time there, My point is there I learned “moves” (not disrespecting in anyway because there are diffrent methods of teaching) but Professor Donovan told us yesterday that he helps others succeed by not teaching moves but movement and I can truly testify that it makes a difference at least for me. I love this place everyone is welcoming feels like a family I have had the opportunity to work with a majority of the striking coaches and can say that they are amazing they are very helpful ever be affraid to ask questions, I do probably too mich but hey thats how you learn. The jiu jitsu proffesors and coaches are amazing as well. Don’t be intimidated think of it as a hospital we are all trying to get better some come in with a huge wound that needs more time to get better(or learn) and some have a scratch that needs just a quick bandaid and there good in other words we are all here to get better no one is perfect even the slightest cut or scratch in someones leg or skills can over all lead to a huge infection or failure in performance so come wether you got all the skills in the world or if your like me and got none they will fix you to were you wanna be trust me! and about that intro having goals dreams or feeling moved theese coaches won’t laugh at you or doubt but they will genuinely belive in you and push you! they teach and we practice so its on all of us to chase thoose feelings and follow through with their perfect knowledge and skill they will pass. You can do it if I can trust me! So lets Go!

After two years in Denver, Colorado, I am moving, and High Altitude Martial Arts (HAMA) will be the hardest thing to leave behind. I had the privilege of training at HAMA for two years, and it was the third gym I have trained at, so I have some insight to say that it is a top level gym. With MMA being so popular in Colorado, you have lots of options to pick from, but considering its vast # of locations and benefits, HAMA is the best option. Every day, you will receive top level advice and encouragement on the mats. Top level coaches will give you the same amount of advice and attention regardless of whether you are a top level competitor or a first time hobbyist.Walking into the doors of a MMA gym can be an intimidating experience, but it is not so at HAMA. You walk in and feel welcomed and at home. No pressure, no intimidation. Everyone is welcoming. You are training alongside professional athletes and you wouldnt even know it, because you are treated with the same amount of respect and attention.I would recommend HAMA to anyone looking to improve their fitness or get into mixed martial arts, or for advanced competitors looking for the best gym possible in the Denver Colorado area.

HAMA goes way beyond the professionalism of the staff, the talented coaching and inviting atmosphere. With a big family, its not always easy to find a place that accommodates all the needs of everyone at the same place. That is what we have found at H.A.M.A., our kids range from 8 to 14 and dad also trains. Between the youth kick boxing, bjj and no go classes and adult classes for our older kid and dad, everyday someone has a great training session. But what really stands out compared to other training facilities is once you walk into this place you are not just a member, you are FAMILY!! The families that train there and all the staff. They check in on you if you havent been in, if they know your going through tough times they reach out and try to see what they can. From setting up meal trains, cards etc.. In todays world and everything going on, this is a rare thing. Every chance we get we recommend H.A.M.A.and we know this is our kids safe place and the home away from home they will continue to be apart of as long as their doors are open.

My daughters and I have been training at High Attitude for over two years and have enjoyed every minute of it. HAMA offers a variety of classes for all skill and fitness levels, all taught by the best professors and coaches in the business. High Altitude has definitely become a second home and family to us. Our instructors teach with knowledge, integrity and respect. We look forward to continuing our journey here at High Altitude Martial Arts !!

Nice gym, environment and staff. Other than a regular gym it has a real (family) spirit and people actually care about your growth and development as an athlete or just a student. Its a nice place to learn an art for all the martial art dreamers. Highly recommended!

There are a lot of Martial Arts gyms out there, this is by far the best, they have something for everyone! As a beginner it can feel a little intimidating to walk into a gym but HAMA is different. You feel welcome and its such a friendly atmosphere. The teachers are great! They give you a sense of accomplishment even in the little things... I highly recommend this gym for the whole family!
