High turnover rates. Lack of staff experience. Lack of consistency. Lack of resources. Glorified daycare. No school nurse. Extremely understaffed. Parents who choose this school, keep their children there because they can bulldoze staff members. The curriculum that they use is poorly supported. Strong bullying/gossip culture amongst staff on the prep side. Loose security. Poor staff to student ratios especially after school hours. Incompetent principal -lacks elementary school and leadership knowledge. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. I don’t understand why it’s this way and the school is owned by a very affluent, African American family.Kindergarten for example, has changed teachers multiple times in one year in both rooms. My son’s favorite teacher came in October and left in February - after his last teacher left and we ADORED her. She was personable, helpful, and knowledgeable. They claimed she left for personal reasons but what was done to stop or help her? This school is a comedy. Do not send your children here. A farce of a “Christian” environment. They don’t care about their valuable staff members. Good staff members leave at the drop of a dime. I regret ever sending my children here.

This is the best school ever! The staff and teachers are wonderful! My son is learning so much. My prayer is that they will extend to 5th grade so that my son can continue to matriculate there. We are very pleased thus far.

I’m often times asked how I like my son’s school and I always say I absolutely love it but I always give the caveat that my initial focus for my, then 2-year-old, wasn’t academics. My son is literally the most loving human that I know. We say ‘I love you’ to each other in this house several times a day. We kiss and have ‘family huggies’ almost everyday. The other day he noticed a scab on his leg and he said ‘I’m healed in the name of Jesus’. He shares so easily with his sister and he understands hurt feelings. Though these are things we do at home, I know they are 100% reinforced at school. His teachers encourage and applaud him. They love on him. They taught him to say ‘amen hallelujah’ after praying lol. His character development is most important to me now. Oh and he can write his whole 14-character first name and last name (at 3 years old), so they’re definitely educating him as well. His first teacher, Mrs. Johnson was excellent. She had the gentle firmness that my son needs and he loved her. Often times during their time outside hed want to sit right up under her rather than playing with the children. This year, in preschool, my son has had two amazing teachers as well, Ms. Daniels and Ms. Russell. They are like ying and yang and a perfect combination. I really cant say enough about how awesome they are.Its not perfect, not at all, and Ive honestly made my share of complaints with communication and responsiveness of the administration. But what Ive seen several times is the Principal, Mrs. Culver, wearing a hair net and apron on serving breakfast... Ive seen her tending to a child who may need special attention in the moment... Ive seen her working from 6:30am - 7pm to make sure the front desk was covered. Ive experienced the heart of the staff that to me, despite any challenges, seem to be about God and the children. My daughter will be starting there when she turns a year old and my family will remain at SOECA for the foreseeable future.

They are very unresponsive. We have emailed them several times to obtain information dating back to as far as 1-month ago, and weve yet to receive responses to our inquiries.
