Great place & instructors

2 of my 3 sons are currently enrolled and I’m looking forward to when my 3 is old enough to attend. Top to bottom every instructor works incredibly with each student. My 2 sons have learned more than I could have imagined in such a short period of time. They both not only enjoy being there but practice at home and look forward to each class.

My son has been going to Lakeway Taekwando since 11 years. Master Chris and his staff have instilled confidence in my sons ability. Master Chris is very strict and has rigorous training schedule and promotion requirements which in a way made my son more accountable and responsible. You will really learn the core values or Tenets Of Taekwondo if you are committed to the program. Other institutes can get you belt probably much faster but its not going to be the same level of teaching one can expect from Lakeway Taekwondo.

They are incredible! My son LOVES going there! If you are looking for some activity for your kid, this is it. What I also like is that this is year around practice and kids can build up their skills.

My son has been at Lakeway Taekwondo since he was 4yrs old and loves it. Master Chris and his staff are strict, but nurturing as well. My son is learning in a confident and supportive environment that motivates him through positive reinforcement. I have to warn you though, they will not promote you to a higher belt unless you do the work! If you’re looking for a place where you just have to kick and jump around to earn a higher belt, you will have to go somewhere else. This is the real deal and you will feel like you actually earned each belt as you progress.There is a good balance of martial arts, discipline and age-appropriate critics, and plenty of fun. Taking classes there is an excellent way for children and adults to get exercise, discipline and self-confidence. I highly recommend this school in Lakeway!

Incredible school with incredible instructors. I have a high bar for TKD (having spent the majority of my youth in it). Masters Chris, Truc, Ash, and Alex have a great shared dynamic - giving the kids what they need - sometimes a push, sometimes a helping hand, sometimes a high five and sometimes a ‘you could have done better’. My daughter is thoroughly enjoying herself, and I’m certainly seeing significant improvements in her resilience, self control and perseverance. Lots of options for classes throughout the week and weekend - they also pick up from local elementary schools for an aftercare combo program.

The instructors here are that very rare combination: masters of their art with the focus, patience, and compassion to teach it to motivated students of any age or skill level. Expectations here are high--as other reviewers note, the only way to progress is to work hard--but humane. Master Chris expects no more from any of his students than the best he knows they can do. My son and I both take classes here--something I always saw in his future but never expected to enter mine. We are both amazed at our progress on the mat. To me it is also clear how much value this disciplined training has in outside life as well. The school has become an important part of our lives. Hard to imagine a better one.

We moved from Singapore in 2014 and our son has been with Lakeway Taekwondo since. Master Chris and all the other coaches have been giving him an excellent environment to build his self-confidence, discipline, physique and social skills. Definitely recommend it!

My children have been with Master Chris, Master Trieu and Master Ash since they were 6 and 8. They are now 12 and 14. Chris, Truc-Chi and their school have become a major part in our childrens lives. My children love their Master and look up to him. I encourage you, parents, to come and watch. The school is so successful because Chris not only cares about the childrens skills in Taekwondo, he cares about building their strong characters as well. Chris definitely was born to do this so well. My children are going to prepare for Black Belts and they will continue to go there until they go to college.

Great for confidence building, respect and goal setting. Our son loves working towards earning his stripes and belts and has asked if he can go to Tae Kwon Do everyday! Master Chris is strict but in the best way. He teaches them about what to do in bully situations and how to look an adult in the eye and shake their hand with respect. We cant say enough good things about Lakeway Tae Kwon Do and their staff!

What a difference Lakeway TKD has made on our daughters life! Our daughter has been coming here for about 4 years now. At first we just noticed that she was more disciplined, focused, and patient. Last year, however, our daughter experienced major difficulties in her life from high academic demands, distractions, and peer pressure. Lakeway TKD has come through for her during this challenging times by providing her the strong support, consistent discipline, and genuine care that she needed.We highly recommend Lakeway TKD to parents with teenagers who are facing similar challenges. They may complain at the beginning about practices but the mind, body, and spirit balance Lakeway TKD provides will last a life time.Thank you master Chris and Ms. Truc Chi for being the ideal role models for our children.
