Awesome group of guys in here! My husband and son come weekly and their work is amazing. Best barbershop weve been to, so naturally we will stay for the end of time. Friendly, fast, and extremely talented. Love this place and cant say enough good things about them! Oscar, Simon, Julian, we use them all.

This review is for Julian Garcia: Bad customer serviceIt was the third time I had visited the shop, they are very good at cutting hair! but I am disappointed with the treatment received by Julian, since I felt that he was a multicultural person for having lived in different states. My second language is English and Spanish is my primary language. I had an appointment at 4pm to which I arrived on time. I wait about 10 minutes for him, he arrives, I greeted him kindly and I commented jokingly: hey you forgot that I had an appointment with you today! ... after that he told me that he would not give me the service of cutting my hair, because he did not have to accept that comment ... I told him that I said it as a joke! I apologized for the misunderstanding, but he didnt care. These are the moments where you (Julian) have to understand customers and even more so when they are from another culture or country. I think you were unprofessional and treated me in such a humiliating way...I applaud his peers who were apologized for him , they were professional in the way they treated a client.

Most of my cuts were pretty good here but the most recent one was botched. I asked for a medium fade, half tapered down to a 0, but instead got a high fade on the right side, and an even higher fade on the left. The blending was OK on the right but there was little to no blending on the left side. They also cut my bangs way shorter than what was discussed so I cant even bring them down anymore.

I love how they treat the customers with most respect and amazing cuts. My little boy loves going to Oscar he cuts my sons hair like he wants it and thats what i like

Capitol City Barbershop is a phenomenal place! Bill and the other barbers do a great job cutting hair and making you feel at home. Bill gives the best haircuts I have had in my life. New to Austin, tried a couple shops in the area, (I try to avoid chains and those extra hipster places - had of that on the east coast) I left some legit barbers when I moved here - so the bar was pretty high. These guys are funny in the shop but serious about their craft, they take their time and do top quality work. Ive only received cuts from Julian at this point but from what Ive seen you couldnt go wrong walking through their door. Give them a chance to earn your business and you wont be disappointed.

So as many people know, once you find a barber he’s your barber. With the industry I’m currently in I move so frequently but still manage to get to my normal guy for the most part but, this time I didn’t have a chance and came here on a whim and let me tell you BEST DECISION I’VE MADE. I walked into this shop and it felt like home everyone joking around and talking it was amazing. This is definitely going to be my shop for the duration of my time down here in Austin.

Some of the best haircuts and fades in town. I always go with Oscar who owns the place but theres a other guy there with long hair who Ive seen cut some tight fades. The quality of haircut you get here is worth more than the $18 they charge. I was getting a haircut at a place where they charged $30 a cut and the caliber of cut wasnt nearly as good. This is an old school type of barber shop that you wont regret visiting.

To all the weenies that cry about their valuable time: make an appointment. Great service requires planning. That’s why it’s great. If it sucked, there wouldn’t be a line. You want decent food, walk into a place and wait to be seated. You want great food, you make a reservation. Why would a hair cut be any different? I made an appointment for 4pm, I walked in at 4pm, I was seated at 4pm, my cut started at 4pm. It might not always work out that perfectly but I’ve never had an issue in the 2 years I’ve been going there. Everyone is super cool. There’s always good conversation. I always walk away feeling damn good.In life, there’s champs and chumps. Chumps cry about how others don’t value their time. Champs value their own time. The need for a haircut doesn’t sneak up on you. It’s one of the easiest things you can predict. When you look in the mirror and think “I might need a haircut soon,” that’s the perfect time to schedule.Wipe those tears, blow that nose, make an appointment.For my money, Alex is it bro. All day.

Ive been a patron of Capitol City Barbershop since they bought the little tiny place on Justin Lane back in 2004 or so. I followed them to their old location near Slaughter and South 1st, and later to their current location on Manchaca. Needless to say, Ive had MANY haircuts with them in the past 15 years, and every one of them was excellent. So much so, that in the handful of occasions where I was forced to get a haircut elsewhere due to unusual circumstances, I would feel anxious to get back to CC to fix whatever hot mess I suffered at the hands of the other barber.Bottom line, this place is a legitimate barber shop staffed by experienced BARBERS who not only have the skills to dial in your look, but the pride in their craft to do so consistently EVERY TIME. Theyve adopted an appointment system that drastically reduces the frustration of the old first-come method of the past. They still work in the walk-in folks and try to help you out, but your best bet is to make an appointment and then KEEP IT. The haircuts are outstanding, and the price is fair. If youre looking for an excellent barber shop in south Austin, you owe it to yourself to give this place a try.

Just finished taking my 5 and 7 year old boys here to get their hair cut. This is likely the best cut they have ever had. Alex took his time to make sure that the cut was on point. Ill be back Friday to get mine done! Highly recommended.

This place is a hidden gem! I was paying $40 a haircut for a lesser quality cut and I pay $18($25 with tip) for a VERY nice cut with Oscar so Now I try to go every week. When I moved to Austin from NJ I thought I was never going to find a barber that could cut my hair like my Dominican barber but Oscar proved that wrong. My dad goes to Julian and he is happy with the quality and Ive seen Simon putting work too. Traveling thru Austin and needed a haircut and beard trim. I’m 65 and have never had a better barber. Alex is incredible! You will not be disappointed!

Daughter is getting married today so I called at 9:30 for an appointment. Rob answered and got me in within 30 minutes. I walked in and was met Rob who was very professional, did a clean fade and I would recommend this barbershop to anyone who appreciates good service.

Poor customer service, just spent an hour in the shop, was not greeted, waited 50mins and then when the barber asked who was next, then corrected himself and asked who had an apt. Hell I didnt even know a barber shop took apts.

Walked-in, sat and waited for an hour, they couldnt work me in...dont really know if they are any good. Had to leave and get back to my life. Didnt see anything to go back for.

Was looking forward to going here. Saw they were open until 7 on Saturday. Due to my work schedule made an appointment for 2:30. Arrived around 2:15 to the doors being locked. Sign said open but blinds were closed and couldnt see inside. Open sign was on door but also noticed no hours on door. Very unprofessional, do they just make up own hours? I noticed they dont have an actual website but just a Facebook page. So does this place have any official hours, and are the ones on Google accurate? Really disappointed I wasted my time waiting outside.

You can get a good cut, if you have the time. Barbers move pretty slow here.

These are the most unprofessional people ever. First time my husband went (with an appointment) he had to wait 2 hours to be seen. The guy NANDO told him that “it was rare but it was due to the holidays, next time just ask for him and I’ll see you right away”. Second time goes around, I called to make an appointment for my husband, specifically asked for nando and he gave me an appt. when my husband showed up on time, nando said “I have another appt at the same time” my husband was like wth I waited 2hrs last time and he just said “my bad”.PLEASE PEOPLE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. They don’t take your time seriously, they don’t deserve your business.

I walk in and was told an hour wait I said okay. Two barbers was cutting hair at the time. I ended up waiting two hours and never got my haircut. One of the barbers set in the back instead of taking care of the customer. Thanks for wasting my time.
