Ive been training here just over a year, but martial arts for about 5 years. A great school with lots of great coaches. Bart is super nice and knowledgeable in both grappling and striking martial arts. The atmosphere is perfect for a martial arts gym in my opinion. Not too traditional and rigid, but also not meat heady. Everyone here takes care of each other, whether youre looking for competition training or just training to get in better shape. I highly recommend The Void to anyone looking to start training martial arts, or if they just moved to Austin and need a new gym to call home.

Immediately liked the vibe when I first went. The coaches are highly skilled and want to help everyone be better than they were the week prior. One of the best feelings I get now is after completing a class where I learned a new combo or skill that I can add to my game. Whether it’s standing up throwing punches or on the ground locking up, they will make you better.

Ive just started coming to the Void but already they have been so welcoming. As a newbie, I am given lots of attention to make sure I am doing everything correctly, and everyone is so encouraging! And the workouts are hard as hell (in the best way)!

Ive been training at The Void since February 2020 and have genuinely enjoyed every moment of it. The instructors and students are exceptionally welcoming and friendly, and create a great learning environment for new-comers and those with more experience. Highly recommend this gym for anyone who has been training in the martial arts or is looking to get into it.

I love The Void - I would never have thought that I would love kickboxing so much, or actually even be able to really do it and learn / get better, but I actually get really bummed if I have to miss a single class! It helps relieve so much of the stress that comes with my very high-stress job, and I feel like Im learning truly valuable self-defense skills while also getting a killer workout when Im there. I love the Tuesday and Thursday classes at 11, and the Mon / Wed / Fri classes at 12, all of which are great for beginners! There is also yoga 5 days a week from 9:30-11, which is super relaxed while also helping you get some really effective and deep stretching in. Jerry rules!I love how The Void is family friendly (people bring their kiddos, and theres also kids classes!) and how all walks of life, kinds of people, and ages train there. Its so welcoming, not macho at all, and just a wonderful place full of incredibly talented instructors and really warm people.

I have the opportunity to be part of this awesome studio for a few months last year and freaking love it. Great place for all levels of students.I never done kickboxing in my life before and I was very nervous the first time. It only toke one class for me to see how awesome the atmosphere and the teacher (Bart) was in this studio. Now, I love the sport and I’m looking forward to learn more.Site note, do to work schedule I haven’t been able to go this year so far. But my goal is to get back to it as soon as I get my work schedule under control.Enrique Comparán,

This is an awesome place to train martial arts, conditioning, and strength. I am training kick boxing and the coach is super detail oriented, always watching and giving advise on how to do things better.I have been here for a month and I’ve trained in many places in Austin. This is by far the best for me.The vibe is really great. Not violent and emphasis on respect.

I absolutely love this place! I bought a 10 pack of kickboxing classes on Groupon and have fell in love since day 1! I can’t wait to join monthly. The owner, Bart, puts his heart into this facility. From the incredible instructors (shout-out to Sabrina) to Michelle at the front desk, I highly recommend this place. Such a welcoming environment for all skill levels. UPDATE: I have now been training here for five months and it was the best decision I have made. I recently started going to the BJJ classes as well and Im hooked! Its crazy how fast you feel part of the family here and I highly recommend this gym.

What first jumped out at me was how involved the owner was - Im not going to lie, I shopped around for a couple of weeks and did my due diligence before signing up, but Bart was answering phones, emails and always at the gym, which I really really impressed me. There were other gyms that had owners there but for the most part it was other folks selling me which was fine, but at the end of the day their MEH enthusiasm was rubbing off on me.So then I signed up and Bart is still running the classes - OK COOL! He really takes the time to mix it up while making sure you stay moving. Ive been at other gyms where they just kind of put you on a bag and walk away, which again is fine, but I just really appreciate him showing up day after day and giving us that level of attention. One of the best parts is their availability - other gym offered Kickboxing classes like once a week, open at 4PM on Tuesday and Thursday... just almost an arrogant lack of options for someone who cannot base their life around one static time. As a new dad their availability for classes is unmatched, so Id say if you are new, seasoned or just need a couple of options on when you can drop by, The Void is a solid option to check out!

Ive been training at the void for about 5 years now and I look forward to going everyday. The instructors are very professional and friendly and you are able to go at your own pace. There is a great kids program as well for any parents wanting to teach their children self defense.

I’ve been training at the void (formerly known as The Pit) for over 7 years now. Admittedly didn’t want to write a review b/c I love that most of the classes are smallish (personal attention) and all the instructors have been training for over a decade. However this is such a great school I would love to share it with everyone. I started at the school just doing cardio/kickboxing to get fit, then Hawaiian Kempo for self-defense, and later Jiu Jitsu which has now lead me to be the Blue Belt no gi World Champion 2017. So whether you’re a hobbyist or interested in becoming a competitor come check out this Void.
