Great school. I graduated in 2015, my sister graduated in 1998, and my mother graduated in 1981. We all love McKinley and would choose no other school if we had to do it all over again. I already miss those days. Check out the wrestling team if you go. Its for males and females and the coach, Paige Russell, is awesome.

I went to McKinley when it was a new school we had old books but the staff cared about the students. If you wanted an education you received a great one. The school is old 50+ years and in need of repairs like BR HIGH. Stop talking about it and get behind the necessary repairs!!

Here at McKinley, we are a family no matter what goes down, there may be a fight every now & then, but we are as close to a family as someone can get, we are all smart, and our principal knows it, you just gotta see how many people are literally in the honor roll ceremonies. Ive been here for almost 4 years, and i dont wanna leave for my senior year, i got too many memories here, McKinley is the place to be.

I love the hell out of this school mr.Brown was the coolest principal ever f*** the assistant he always was after me to get me suspended all my teachers was nice and was down i had a few that would let skip class in their room at least i was in a class though lol and no uniforms great!!!!! I wish i could do it all over again there

I love McKinley senior high school I am currently a student and will be graduating in 2016, the school is great we have all types of experiences at the school and so far mine have been all good I am proud to be attending McKinley...and to be graduating from this school is such an honor...panther pride....

Im gonna be a sophomore this fall, and they make the transition from middle to hs so easy. We might have a few fights and be unorganized af, but its a good school.

I am in the gifted and talented program at McKinley Senior High. This 2012-13 school year, I am a sophomore. I transferred to this school from BRMHS, a magnet school, and was and am extremely pleased that I left. The magnet program is just not the same. If you are an identified gifted student, I STRONGLY recommend staying in the gifted program and coming to McKinley.All 5 of my G/T teachers exceed expectations. Each of my core classes is challenging; I learn something every day. (As of this school year, we have all 7 classes every day, in order.) Also - I have been in the Talented Visual Art program since 1st grade and have never loved it as much as I have at McKinley. It is worry-free, unlike the other Art programs I have been in at other schools. The lack of stress has an amazing effect on students work - it is beyond belief.Unfortunately, I am only speaking for the gifted, talented, and great scholars programs. I have no idea what goes on in the traditional program at McKinley and therefore cannot comment on it.The only problems I have with the school have to do with the organization. At the beginning of the year, everyones schedules are jumbled and, this year, it took 1.5 weeks to work it all out. At other schools, students are already taking tests on what theyve learned during the time that we are simply trying to get our schedules fixed. If you want to go to McKinley, you are going to have to accept this kind of thing, as the school is extremely overcrowded and the administration scrambles to accommodate.Despite these downfalls, McKinley is worth it to me. I would urge every gifted/great scholars student to at least try it for a semester. Im definitely staying for the rest of my high school years!

Well first of all the busses are late constantly for my child. The teacher especially in the gym told my child to not dress out on fridays but made a grade anyway now he has an F in weightlifting II. The lunch is very rude, its undercooked, dry, underseasoned, but sometimes tasty. The school definitely beffa to be rebuilt because of all the ild structure and wood. The school is not nearly cleaned as it should be. The library needs to be a ton bigger. Also, the teachers are very much so not good. Some you cant understand, some curses at you, or some dont know what they are doing themselves. Also, because of the bus being late for my student he catches pneumonia and had very bad bronchitis and asthma. I would like for the school structure, busses, lunch, library, and teachers to improve. I would like to help mckinley get a new structure like lee high. HOW IN THE F****** WORLD DID LEE MAGNET HIGH GET $1MILLION FOR THEM BUT MCKINLEY CANT EVEN GET $10,000. I honestly 100% blame the East Baton Rouge Paris School System and the state of Louisiana. Im very dissapoinyed and my child is improving drastically he needs to have at least 2 Cs this year no Ds or Fs if so I will be getting my lawyer to fix your school for you.
