Friendly school, excellent curriculum, rigorous programs. Consistently rated #1 in Oregon. The school itself could use an upgrade in size and some better infrastructure, however (so a top of the line school can have top of the line classrooms and facilities). The current ones are fine however, I would recommend it to anyone. Very dedicated and hardworking staff.

I really like this place. Even the most annoying people are really smart. The people there are very international and think that the fact that you speak a different language as well is really cool. The people there can be really funny, and even though there isnt outdoor school, the time that we get out of school and the fun that I have there makes up for it. I would totally recommend this school!

My son attends here. Its a demanding curriculum and there is an expectation that students are self-motivated to excel. As such for a bright and motivated kid, this can be the ideal school. But if your kid is not that kid, it can be a frustrating learning experience. The teachers and staff do their best to help, but the IB program does focus on things that push the envelope on learning both for the business as usual schools as well as the average student, so you just have to understand that if you or your kid go here.It was just rated number 26 in the USA for high school and was the top Oregon school. But what I wrote above still applies

Its pretty dang awesome. The curriculum isnt demanding at the beginning of the year, but it ramps up as the teachers begin to understand what you need. Mr. Ruff is cool; dont try and search for his face on the Internet, though, its not there.

If it was possible to give this school no stars I would. I attended this school 5 years ago for middle school. It was pretty okay aside from the lack of diversity and ONiell slithering her way to dictatorship. Now my little sister is there for high school and it seems like the school is falling apart. Faculty and students rally together against ONiell and yet its all still crap. Staff have purposely left their paying jobs because of this lady... The school supply list does not take into account for students with lower income, for example students are now required to buy a whole new backpack for their chrome books, stylus pens and numerous binders which they forced them to get to force some type of organizational method on them. New classes are also being implemented to enable lazy kids for their personal project/extended essay. The point of those two projects is to learn from it personally and grow from it... not to be forced to do it a certain way with guidance from teachers. If this school was truly a charter/option school for the gifted these classes should not be needed. I dont know how this school gets rated to be the top in Oregon because it is not a wholesome, free, fun environment for students. The End.

Dont like the principle. People advertise this school like some international acceptance school or whatever, but isnt any different from other public schools when it comes to diversity. Culture week is just boring. Ms. Ped is awesome though

The school preaches about its involvement into bettering the kids future, but the truth is that it cares about the test scores and Im not sure what else.. My children both attended ISB but no longer due after incidents involving the main administration showed to my family how little that the schools main staff cares very little for its students. Its not parent friendly . The transition from 5th to 6th is very hard on the children and there is no real communication with teachers minus constant email blast of what they are doing as a whole or the school is wanting more money so sell sell sell

The only thing this place is good for is the education, if you want to go to a good college and possibly take your freshman year off, go here. other than that, the school itself is one of the most overrated schools in the district. mrs. oneil is anything but a principal and treats everyone like elementary school kids while at the same time running around like a dictator. the fact that this is an option school when youre only subjected to two electives (fine arts or world language) is BS. there are no sports or extracurricular activities outside of school which makes this school even worse than it already is. finally, the teachers are a hit or miss. you either get amazing teachers or mediocre teachers at this school. you got teachers like mr. cowin, who are constantly acting cryptic and expecting the students to do everything when in fact hes the teacher and should be helping out to some extent. and then you got teachers like mr. wandell who actively listen to the students and help out when necessary. in conclusion, this school is among the worst in the district and i would only recommend going here if you want time off in college, other than that, DO NOT go to this school.

This school is pretty good with the education, but the atmosphere it has for the students, it’s not so good. The high school with middle schoolers there create a crowded school because the halls are meant for an elementary school. The administration treats all students like 10 year olds and have this fake view of a perfect student. That school is to be more acedimiccally challenged, but most students there don’t even want to be there. Their parents make them. This especially true high school students. They don’t get homecoming, or many other school dances. There is no school spirit. The fields are bad, no sports teams because it’s an option school. The equipment is outdated. All this really does make students not want to go therefor distracting them from learning, especially for kids in high school, They dont get the experience that they want to have.

The education is fine, some teachers are great and others arent so great, its like any other school in the district.some of the classes are too large [eg. ~40 students], its way too crowded during passing time because the hallways are tinybut its boring as hell, theres no clubs or extracurriculars that people care about [for both high school & middle school], everyone is basic and you cant help but despise most of the student populationthe school grounds are ugly but nobody cares about that i guess hahathe homework is fine, especially with AT.if you wanna have fun and live a bit, dont go to ISB but if you wanna get that sweet education then 10/10 go to isb

I graduated from isb in the year 2015 from 8th grade. i had to move on to my home high school aloha because isb had no real high school feel. its a great choice if you want to study and thats all. isb has no highschool choices and no sports to be apart of. the teachers expect more but treat you like your in 6th grade. this school give over loads of homework and so much responsibility. i dont recommend this for any kid who really wants a good highschool experience. but because the school is so small and a safe community there is nearly no bulling and it was a fantastic middle school experience.
