I highly recommend Sandy Lane as a parent and professional. I am a Speech-language pathologist and provide Early Intervention services to children birth-3 in the home or daycare as my side job. I have had some clients in Sandy Lane for speech/language therapy in the past. The staff at Sandy Lane has always been knowledgeable, accommodating and welcoming. There are some daycares I would NEVER send my child to after seeing what goes on behind closed doors, and Sandy Lane is not one of them. All three of my daughters (ages 13, 11, and 3) went to Sandy Lane. The teachers were caring and nurturing with my daughters. They were always available if I ever had any questions or concerns. My 3 year old is in Mrs. Marisa’s class currently and started in the infant room when she was 7 months old. She loves going to school and talks about her peers and teachers all the time. My older two daughters enjoy visiting their teachers they had years ago. Sandy Lane offers a parent focus group. They also hand out surveys for the parents to fill out at least once a year, and they generate reports via “My teaching strategies” for each child (which is reviewed with the parent) regarding the child’s functioning in different domains. Sandy Lane offers fun activities for the whole family to participate throughout the year such as “Trunk or Treat” and breakfast with Santa. They have an open house in the beginning of the year so that parents are aware of the curriculum, daily schedule, and activities etc.

I highly recommend Sandy Lane Nursery School. Both of my children started at Sandy Lane as infants and stayed until 5 years old. The staff is amazing. Very nurturing, caring, compassionate, and most importantly partnering. They partner with parents daily to ensure the best care for your child. Daily updates are provided by teachers to highlight the day’s activities. The environment is welcoming and friendly.

I have 3 kids and my oldest is 8 and my 2nd child is 3. My 1st child was there when he was 18 months, My 2nd child has been there since 6 months. And she still goes to the infant room to go see the ladies to say good morning. When I go pick up my daughter from school everyday I have my 8 year old with me and when he sees his teachers that he had he runs up to them with a smile and gives them the biggest hugs. I respect all the teachers there because ALL OF THEM HAVE THE BIGGEST HEART. I don’t understand why people need to talk negative about this school I wouldn’t send my children to any other school. If your child is scared ( supposedly driving by sandy lane than go a different route! ) ALL THESE TEACHERS are certified and have 10+ years. These teachers love what they do. So stop giving negative comments. Elaine doesn’t just hire ladies just to fill in you need to have degrees and certifications to be hired.

0 stars if I could... I took my child out due to continuous incidents not being reported to me. When I would get home I would ask my child how was school and my child would respond with what had occurred at school. When I would call to speak with the teacher I would always get a run around with her.. To the final straw when my child told me that the teacher put her hands on my child.. had meeting with director Elaine and I was told she would put all teachers through a training... I responded to that with, these teacher supposedly have 20+ years of experience... Worse school, ended up having to take my child to a therapist for Post Trumatic Stress... when ever we pass the school my child ducks down thinking and hoping his teacher doesn’t see... I walked in Several times over hearing the way other teachers speak to the children... and I was told by Elaine “Yes, some of my staff do have loud voices” I honestly hope and pray another child or parent do not go through what we went through... I do understand Belleville Police are always there but like I told the detective when I made my complaint with them... They will show you and let you see what they want you to see.... I advise all parents and children that go to this school PLEASE PLEASE communicate with your child!!! Ask them questions.... I am a real Parent and this is True.... I wish a private investigator would be hired and someone can see the true colors of Sandy Lane

Sandy Lane is one of the best Nursery’s in Essex county, the teachers are loving, caring and are very patient with the children. It’s one of the very few daycares/nursery that Have teachers With longevity, unlike other daycares where it’s like a revolving door. My little boy previously was at a daycare in Bergen county that was twice the price, and didn’t obtain half the the knowledge he now has. Sandy Lane has structured lesson plans, educational events and involve the parents in lessons that give the children the tools to evolve as great students. I’m very involved with my sons education and I’m so happy he is at Sandy Lane. My niece and nephew are alumni’s and still remember their teachers and how well they were treated. My little boy has Established a good foundation of education At Sandy Lane nursery And continues to show great progress each year. My little boy loves the teachers, caretakers and staff, they really make a difference and also make it easy for parents to rest a sure their little ones are in good hands. Thank you Sandy Lane Nursery!

I highly recommend this school. The teachers are all outstanding. I have a child who at times could be a handful. One of the teachers Mrs. Delma (who was not his teacher at the time) would take time out of her day to help my child focus. She has such a caring, nurturing personality. Mrs. Delma has been such a positive impact on my son. She is amazing. I put 3 kids through Sandy Lane and will be enrolling my 4th child shortly. Sandy Lane feels like family now. Huge thanks to all the teachers and staff for their outstanding performance.

Zero star. My child came home with a nasty open-wound gash to the face with a bruise underneath it. This was NOT isolated. The picture shows it during its healing process.
