I was a active duty solider (Retired now) stationed at ft Lewis WA and would drive well over a hour to train with Sensei Sharif Robles and his staff. You wont find a more welcoming environment for you and your family, I made life long friends and training partners in that dojo. One of the other aspects of this particular dojo thats different from others is the way Sensei Robles brings out your true potential not only on the mats but in your personal life. Over eleven years ago I came to this dojo looking for a way to improve my physical conditioning and satisfy a lifelong curiosity about whether I would benefit from training in the martial arts. I had concerns about my age (I was 46 at the time), the ages of my prospective fellow students (would I be the only adult in a class full of youngsters?) and what physical demands would be placed upon me.From the very beginning, Sensei Robles has been a patient teacher and an inspirational leader who has allowed my interest in karate to flourish and helped make me into a healthier and happier person. Flexible class times and the chance to train with other students in my own age group create an environment where growth is continuous and hard work brings improvement along with a great deal of satisfaction.I would strongly recommend this dojo to anyone with an interest in karate, regardless of age and physical background.

Three years ago I first brought my nephew in to train at the dojo. He loves it. I train in the adult program, so I knew it was a quality dojo – and style of karate - but I have still been surprised at the benefits training there has had for him over the years in terms of his self confidence, and physical presence. Both Sensei Robles is amazing with the kids. I would not hesitate to give the childrens program the strongest possible recommendation.

Both of my daughters have been training at this dojo since they were five (theyre now 11 and 8). Thanks to both Sensei Sharifs and Sensei Tiffanys patience and experience, both girls have grown in life skills such as perseverance, self-respect, and respect for others. Theyve also enjoyed the practical benefits of karate, including improved balance, coordination, and physical conditioning. They wouldnt have stuck with the often-challenging training sessions though if it wasnt also a truly fun environment. Thankfully, the dojo offers a good balance between structured class time and free time, with at least one play session per class, where the kids can let off steam.
